Morning Babes!:)

I got up at 5:30 this morning. UGH. DH had to be in work early this morning so he got up earlier then he normally does. When he kissed me goodbye I woke up and that was all she wrote. ACK. I almost want to tell him NOT to say goodbye to me in the morning but I don't think that would go over well. :p

I have no idea what's on the work out front for me today. I am not working from a written rotation these days so I'll probably change my mind 1000 times!:7 I still have to pack and straighten up my house, etc so that everything is in order when I leave later this morning. Perhaps a work out isn't even in the cards. I'll see what happens. I hope to grab a run over the weekend though as I believe our hotel has a fitness cntr. }(

I was last to post y'day so I have no personals to do.

I'll check back with y'all in a bit!

Hello cheetah friends,

I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday but I did a 20 min Icycle and BBC's B & S. Today the plan is a 6 mile run and a yoga class.

wendy- sorry dh woke you up this am. no, it wouldn't go over very well to tell dh not to say goodbye when he leaves early in the morning, lol. i am sure you will pick a great workout today. when do you leave for your trip?

kristi- slo mo is a new strength workout from amy bento. have you done any of her workouts before. you can check out clips at www.collagevideo.com. so far so good!

shelly- re: the HM in las vegas. not sure about that. after i run my first one i will determine if i want to do one again. i am hoping the excitment of race day will change my mind but so far i am thinking i am a recreational jogger, lol.

have a wonderful day to the most wonderful ladies!!

well, my great day that i had planned started out TERRIBLY!!! i was driving to the zoo and got in an accident (no one was hurt, thank God). of course, i got the ticket even though the driver told the cop she thought that i was going to turn "the other way." top that with my crappy week of SO issues and suicide issues with my kid at school and you just have one spectacularly crappy week. where i am going to et the money for the deductible and ticket, i have no idea. AND the trip i thought i was going on this weekend appears to be cancelled based on a misunderstanding (not mine). i won't even go into that now because it pisses me off so much.

i did have a good time at the zoo with the kids. got home at 7 and got into bed. i think i was asleep by 8.

don't know if i will get to work out today because i have to deal with car crap.

i just want to crawl into a hole.

Good Morning:) Cheetahs!

How is everyone? Whats the plans for the weekend? We aren't doing a whole lot here. We are having friends over for supper Sat night and thats the only plans that I have.

Im not sure what todays workout will be. Its raining again! So it probably won't be a run outside. I ended up take yesterday off and went to bed at 9:30.

Lorie** Your week will soon be over! I promise! {{{HUGS}}} I know what it is like to have bad days/ weeks...and you wouldn't be normal if you didn't have one! It will soon be over I promise! Don't crack just yet and you can always come here to vent!

Wendy** Tell DH to not kiss you anymore! hehe I ended up sleeping with DD last night and when DH came home from hockey he slept on the couch...so no kissing here

Sunny** You had a great workout yesterday!!! Good job!

Alright, have to get DD ready for school. I may be back later!

Lori:)

Sunny: So you aren't enjoying running the longer distances? I am thinking you WILL enjoy the HM a bit more due to the excitement of racing. It may not be enough to make you want to do it AGAIN but atleast hopefully you will enjoy it since you trained for it. :)

Lorie: HUGS girl! Like Lori said, this week WILL end and the crap will be over with. Hang in there!!!! Glad no one was hurt in the accident. That is ALWAYS the most important thing!

Lorie: Glad you enjoyed your rest day y'day. Now you must kick butt today!}( I am going away with DH to Baltimore for the weekend. DS will be spending the time with my mom. Enjoy your weekend!

Lorie- TG no body was hurt in the accident. I am so sorry to read about the unfortunate events piling up one after another. You do need some positive changes. At least you can stop in here for a pick me up. We care about you. :)

Wendy- I hope you have a pleasant weekend getaway with DH :) I like to have the house in order before leaving too.

Sunny- I know just how you feel about being a recreational runner. I am hesitant to enter any races, especially alone. I do not even think DH would come to see me, as he is not to pleased with my running/ exercise habit.

Hi Lori :)

Today will be a 7-8 mile run. Then prepare for the house guests.

I'll try to check the thread from last night.

DH is FINALLY home. YEAH! He didn’t get home until 1:30 this morning. I’m so glad he is home now. However, he & I both had a rough night last night. DD kept waking up every hour or two. I’m thinking she might have another ear infection, but I won’t know for sure for another day at least. Maybe it was a fluke.

Not sure what I will be doing today, maybe nothing. I get to leave at noon today and have the rest of the afternoon off. I need to go buy a gift certificate for my FIL’s birthday. I also plan to Christmas shop for DD. She is so easy to buy for. She will be finished probably today. I also might get my niece and nephew finished for Christmas while I am at it too. I plan to be close to finished by the first of December. Then the only things I will need to buy will be gift cards for out of town relatives.

Judy – Enjoy your run!

Wendy – Have a great time in Baltimore with DH! Is this a romantic weekend? Sorry you have to start you day so early because DH kissed you. It is like Snow White. His kiss awakened you. :) Okay, you might not find the humor in that.

Lorie – ((HUGS)) The week is almost over. I’m sorry this has been such a bad week for you. Thank goodness no one was injured in the accident.

SunnyD – No I have tried any Amy Bento yet. I haven’t bought any DVDs in a long time. Must be because I primarily run for cardio and these days I do strength training on my own. However, nothing beats Cathe for ab work. I’m sure your HM will go very well. I wish you were enjoying the training more, but it isn’t for everyone. It is okay if you are a recreational jogger. I used to be one myself before having DD, but then after having her I noticed the benefits of running. Also, I don’t have room in my exercise room for step workouts.

I’ll try to BBL. WAVES to all Cheetahs!

Good morning cheetahs

Wendy...thanks re my floor...Sure DH & I will come out and do yours, if you don' mind the bickering...My house is also small which made this job a bit easier I would think..:)..Good job on the iTread w/o yesterday. Thanks for the Cathy update...lucky girl!!! Hope you can get in a workout before you leave. Have a nice weekend away.

Sunny...you know, sometimes distance running is not for everyone. You will know better after your half...enjoy your 6 mile run and yoga.

Lorie...sorry about everything hitting you at once...{{{HUGS}}}. I am so glad no one was hurt in the accident.

Lori...thanks re my floor...:)...Sounds like you have a nice dinner planned this weekend. It should be raining here too today, I hope to run before it starts!

Judy..thanks...:)...you should share some pics...I know your house is way bigger than mine and that new workout room??...Your Pilates class sounds great. I never thought you as being one sided, just excited about some instructors!...I am sure I will preorder the STS workouts too...Enjoy your 7-8 mile run today.

Kristi...thanks re my floor...no, it really was not hard to install. Like most jobs the prep work is the most time consuming, and the fact my DH is MR Procrastinator. How nice your DH is back home!...:)

Linda...Sorry about you and DH both being sick!! Thanks, I do like my floor. I think I might stick with Slo-mo for a couple of weeks but I will do the 4DS leg workout too. I was reading up on Sumo squats as many think they are the main reason for back injuries! Next time I am going to hold 1 DB on each side. When I looked up Sumo squat online and saw pictures, most had the BB behind their neck, and NOT the way Amy holds it.

Shelly...we have had some warm weather too. In the 80's. Thanks re my floor. You are so sweet...:)...I won't say working with DH was easy...but I am very happy it got done.

Today will be PUB shoulders, bi's and tri's using the mix & match feature. Then abs and a 4 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Hey girls.

No time for more personals right now. Just came by to report my work out since it's DONE!:)

I made up my own mish mosh:

B&G warm up
walking lunges
reverse grip chin ups
side hammers
standard pushups
lunge/squat combo
wide fly pull ups
firewalkers
wide fly push ups
bonus glute squeezes
o/h close grip chin ups
inner thigh leg lifts
tricep push ups
All Body Attack core/abs + stretch

I have decided to make this month weight-free. The only resistance I am going to be using are the bands in some cases (ie: firewalkers) and my own body weight. I'm very excited to rid myself of the "iron" for a few weeks prior to beginning the X! Actually, I've been thinking of doing this round of the X with the bands so I could be DB and BB free for *FOUR* months! Can I survive!? :p :7 I think it will be a nice change of pace. :)

Gotta grab a quick shower and then get DS up!

Hope to pop in later before I leave!

Have a good morning!:)

Hi Cheetahs! TGIF!!! YEAH!!!

Busy weekend, though! Diwali party Saturday and friends over on Sunday (and I still have no clue what I’m going to make for dinner!!). Today is HSTA. I get to try my new Ryka Enlight II’s!!! Yesterday’s rest day was much needed and now I’m raring to go.

Wendy – Uh oh! Indecisive Wendy is back! I love it! You’re too cute. I love your idea! Enjoy your iron free month! Have a great getaway weekend!

Sunny – After you run your first half, give it a few weeks before you decide if you’re going to do it again. As I always say – it’s like giving birth – immediately afterwards you swear you will NEVER do that again! But, with time the bad memories fade and the good ones take over, so you do it again, and about mile 10 you remember why you swore you’d never do it again! Lol. Enjoy your run and yoga! Sounds like a wonderful day.

Lorie – Oh, I’m so sorry about you accident! So happy you were hurt, though! I’d fight that ticket. Glad you had a good time at the zoo. {{{HUGS}}} sweetie! Next week just HAS to be better!!

Lorie – Have fun with your workout! Your weekend sounds nice – I like quieter weekends. Mine is not! :+

Judy – enjoy your run and your cleaning. There’s something satisfying about a clean house and knowing you did it. Even though it’s a pain to do!

Kristi – My DH comes home tonight. Your’s got home late last night! Wow! I love that age when the kids are easy to buy for and will wear anything you get them clothes wise. Then they turn into teens… :+

Carole – Enjoy your workout – sounds like a good one. I’m really looking forward to trying out Amy’s Slo-mo! But I have to finish up my s&h, 4DS rotation first!

I’ve gotta get the ole tail in gear! Enjoy everyone!

Still no workout done. Its raining even more so it will be something inside. DS should soon be going for his nap. Its 10:30 now so if he doesn't go to sleep soon my workout will have to wait until after lunch.

Wendy** sounds like you have a nice weekend planned with DH. Is he going for work or just something you guys planned to do together? Do you think you'll be sore tomorrow? Im not sure but Ive kind steered away from the weights and only been doing it 1-2 x's per week, I think this plan kind of works for me. I have muscle definition but I feel more lean then bulky like I did before.

Carole** I use to love doing new things with my other home b/c it made me feel like I had a new one! hehe We just moved into a new house a yr ago so of course nothing as changed around here. If anything we are still trying to finish somethings up. Enjoy your workout!

Judy** Enjoy your run! Im so jealous!!!!

Christine** Hopefully your weekend won't be to crazy.

Lori:)

Good morning everyone! I have lots to do today and unfortunately have to go into work tonight. I say unfortunately because DH and I are having a dinner party tomorrow night so I'll have to fit in clean up, cooking, hopefully a short workout and some kind of nap so I can be semi coherent at least. I have only myself to blame for the scheduling. I'm in charge of that and I usually end up screwing myself so to speak to give everyone else what they wantx(

Wendy- Hope you have a great time in Baltimore this weekend. Is it just for fun or is it work related for your DH? Nice mishmosh you put together today. Very interesting concept about going "iron free"
for a while. Should be a nice change and I'll be interested in hearing your results.

SunnyD- Hey, in any given race most people are NOT competing believe me! They are there simply to finish and have fun.... and they do!
There's nothing like the high of crossing the finish line, no matter what the time is. I'm confident you'll feel this way after your upcoming HM.

Lorie- Wow are you in need of some mega {{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}
It is thankful that no one was hurt but it's awfully hard to look at the bright side when crap like this happensx( x(
This too will pass.... really! We're all behind you and hopefully can offer some helpful advice re: insurance matters, etc. Just ask!

Kristi- A nice half day for you! Hope you have a nice time shopping.
I see you are one of those disgustingly efficient people who can get all their Christmas shopping done before Dec:eek: Sigh... not me!

Carole- Hope you have a nice run-BI-Tri day! I ordered my new Montrails yesterday! I found a great bargain on some Hardrocks... 40% off what I saw on most other websites.

Christine- HSTA is a great way to break in those new Rykas! Have fun!!!

Gotta go now and get in some workouts myself. I got two new ones yesterday!! So I'll be trying out Amy's ACSII and Kelly Coffee-Meyer's Cardio Sculpting dvd.

hey ladies(back for a minute),

lorie- BIG HUGS coming your way. things can only get better for you.

wendy- enjoy your trip! baltimore is fun.

judy- enjoy your run today. do you mind my asking why dh doesn't like for you to run?

christine- great analogy:7 you are so right about that. i believe you will enjoy slo mo just because she really has some different exercises on them. although i don't think you can actually ever top the tried and true:)

shelly- great advice, thanks. i am not afraid of the competition part. i really enjoyed the 5k and 10k's. i am definitely looking forward to the runners high i will feel after actually completing a HM:D please let me know what you think of the kelly coffee-meyer workout, sounds interesting.

carole- thanks for the thought. i am definitely going to make a decision after the HM, to see if it is something that i enjoy. i guess to me i like to run for fun and not have it feel like torture...lol. hopefully that makes sense.

lori- no real plans this weekend. all except ds#6 is playing in his first BBall on saturday. i am so excited for him.

kristi- i am glad you can understand. i do enjoy running but just maybe not long distance. i hear you with having alot of dvds, my workout room is running over with them. i will have to unload some of the ones i no longer use.

i did my 6 mile run this morning!! it felt really good. no knee pain. the only negative was the cold...it was so warm a couple weeks ago and now it feels like winter already:( i am going to check out some new running shoes (and cold weather gear) tomorrow.

on another note i am really, really looking forward to cathe's next workout videos!!!

have a great day to all:)

HI Cheetahs-

Well I turned my 7 miler into 10 miles! The day did not start out well. I was in a yuccky mood (PMS??), and I forgot that DS needed a ride to school. His school is a 25 minute commute. The good part was that I had to get oldest DS at the airport and it is about 10 minutes beyond DS's high school. So I grabbed my running necessities, and a yogurt and planned to run from the high school, stop at the grocery store and go on to the airport. Well, I forgot my wallet! So Breakfast after a 10 mile run was yogurt. Then I found a single serving bag of popcorn in the car and ate that. The run went well, Thank goodness. I ended up on a different segment of the canal and it was beautiful. There were two locks along the way so I got in some inadvertent stair running! The best part is my hip barely has pain. Now I have enjoyed a decent lunch and should be able to get this house "guest ready."

Sunny- DH is always worried that I will get attacked. Last fall I did get flashed by an habitual flasher. He has since been caught. And also about a year ago, a woman in Buffalo ( an hour away) was raped and murdered while out for a bike ride on a trail she trained on regularly. This was a serial killer who had raped and murdered on that trail before. He has since been caught. He also doesn't share my passion for exercise. To him it is a necessary evil, but he works very long hours and it can be tiring for him to fit in his 30 minutes of cardio per day.

Sunny- No knee pain!! good news!!

Carole- You are right about the instructor. I was impressed to hear she was into a variety of exercises. And I have never seen such great abs and well proportioned muscles on a woman I estimate to be late 40's to early 50's. Guess what else? I got into that spin class! It starts in mid November for 4 weeks. A friend of mine told me he makes everyone get off the bike and do push ups and other exercises.

Hi Christine :)

Shelly- Have fun at the dinner party you are hosting and getting prepared for it. I am trying to decide if I should whip up a dessert for tonight. Our family arrives to stay with us for a niece's wedding tomorrow. We will have a large antipasto tray and calamari in marinara over pasta and a big salad for them tonight.

Hey Gals, it seems to be pretty quiet around here today. I thought I was going to have a pile of chit chat to catch up on! Not the case!

I ended up getting DS down for a nap at 11:15, and I did 8.5 miles in 82 mins. The first 3 miles were steady and the last 5.5 was interval running. I had a great workout. I was tempted to run 10 miles but I was going to save that for tomorrow. HOpefully the weather and my energy level will cooperate!

Judy** Sounds like you had a good run. I hectic morning but everything worked out.

Shelly** You sound a bit like myself...always wanting to be the good guy. Sometimes it doesn't matter what you do though...you can never make everyone happy. Sooooo, with that being said...put yourself #1 next time! LOL We are having people over for supper tomorrow night as well. I have tons to do and I don't even have to catch up on some z's!

Sunny** How many kids are there? You say DS #6? I thinking you didn't give birth to all of these kiddies did you? hehe

Thats it from moi! Im thinking about heading to the mall to buy some jeans. Its not very nice out though and very tempting to stay inside.

Lori:)

Wow! Just got back from a "Grand Re-Opening" of our Local Safeway Grocery Store. What a mad house! But, for once, the shelves were stocked and they had checkers! I paid $181 dollars for my groceries and bought $500 worth of food - 2 BIG turkeys, pork loins, 2 big packs of shrimp - things that can be frozen... I had a 10% savings, $10 off, and many coupons. And I planned my menus around what was on sale. I feel so organized! I think I need to use my savings and buy a new DVD! :p

Kind of pathetic, though - that was my excitement for the night. DH was supposed to be home an hour ago, but his first plane was 3 hours late. They reconnected him on another plane in Denver and THAT plane is delayed. So he'll be home late tonight. DD14 is at her musical rehersal. DD18 is home, but will be going to the high school football game to see the cheerleaders (she was a CL last year). So, it's just me and the dogs. Some much needed down time right now.
