Cathlete
Hi all! No running today for me...Rest day:) :)
I just wanted to wish Carole the best of luck on her upcoming 50k:eek:
No matter what time you run this in you are our HERO!!!

ShellyC

Good Morning Shelly and fellow Cheetahs.

I echo Shelly's thoughts regarding Carole completely!:)

Shelly...enjoy your rest day! I'm sure you deserve it!:)

No run today.

I will probably hit the gym and hop on the elliptical...I want to do a Cathe cardio but have lots to do today so nap time will be quite valuable today. If I had gotten my arse out of bed earlier I would have been fine but alas, I was LAZY!:p

I am taking a ride up to my MIL's this afternoon to drop DS for the weekend. DH's B'day is Sunday and so we have a bit o'partyin' to do in his honor. }( We are definately going out tonight and possibly tomorrow night too. The only thing that stinks is that we have had the plans for tonight for a while and DH just got put on O/T (10 hours a day/ 6 days per week) which means he has to work tomorrow. We are ALWAYS open to O/T and happy about it but the timing stinks for my DH.:-( If he has the energy though, we may go out tomorrow night too....

I had originally planned for an early outdoor run tomorrow but in light of tonight's activities I am going to do it on Sunday instead. Even if we go out I should be fine as I won't "indulge" 2 nights in a row...I'm too old for that!:p

Good morning cheetahs

Judy..good luck in the move...hope it goes smoothly. Thanks, I will definitley post a race report.

Christine..yes, you most likely could do the 15K tomorrow! It really is pretty there..well, I might BE carb loading myself as far a chips go, and I will have veggie pizza tonight...:)

Elaine...that is great your DH helps in that way..:)...I am glad you guys were not up during the 117 days...Don't worry at all about your laid back vacation, you will feel alot better for the rest. Thanks...I am looking forward to this run for some reason..:)

Wendy...great TM run yesterday!! The run starts at 7 AM...my 1st 50K was 6:11 and my 2nd was 6:55, this one is a bit higher elevation but I feel better about it so I just guess around 7 hours, but I really don't know...Thanks too Wendy...:)

Shelly...the Legs in P90X just work them in a different way without much weight. Once I got the workout down and concentrated, I did get sore. Yes it was 5 easy miles...and I had to run my neighbors big friendly German shepherd home too...cool dog...There is a site but they don't use chips so I can't be tracked online. I can probably give you the results before they post them! Thank you for the nice post today!!! I'll be thinking of all you lovely cheetahs on my long run...:)

Laura...good luck this weekend whatever you decide.

I think today I'll do some Yoga...nothing tough...

Have a great day cheetahs...

Rest day here too! I slept in til about 7:20, it was wonderful!! I actually woke up about 5 & said no way am I getting up yet & went back to sleep! ;-)

Carole ~ You are our SuperCarole Cheetah!! I know that you'll do great & I can't wait to hear a report. Take some pics too!!! Enjoy your yoga/ easy day today & really take it easy!

Wendy ~ Happy bday to your DH! Sounds like a fun weekend planned! Enjoy the *alone* time & I'm sure your ds will love getting spoiled by grandma!

As for me, just taking it easy & doing some pilates/ yoga probably later. CleanMax this morning, it's a never ending job w/ 3 little girlies! :p We might head to the pool later, it's supposed to be so hot today & all weekend, even heat advisory!! Erin & I are running at 4:45 tomorrow morning to help beat the heat (13 miles on the agenda). We're taking water bottles & dropping some off about half-way so we won't dehydrate.

VBS is going great still, my girls had their best friends come w/ them last night & a neighbor boy so they were excited & they all want to come back tonight! (last night- whew! busy week!)

My Grandma is in the hospital again- they took her to the ER last night. They are running some tests to see how far the cancer has spread. So far it started in her ovary (which they removed), and bladder & a little in her colon & now they've since found some in her lungs & doing some tests for her stomach too. (she's been complaining how bad it hurts every time she eats & is really bloated) My Aunt just made it home from Russia & have some cousins fling in from CA this weekend. My brother is trying to come home from TX in early August. We're hoping they give us more of a timeline on how long they think that she has.... she's totally in denial about the cancer though.

Anyway, sorry about that!! Gotta get moving & get some stuff done! Oh yeah, and WILL go to the running store & run some errands later today (my dh gets home from work at 11 on Friday's so I can go by myself!!).

Hugs,

Good morning all:

Jess - I'm with you, I slept in until 7:50am and didn't even hear my DH get up or ready for work. It was so nice - MAN - did I need that, I'm totally refreshed and ready to take on the day. Sorry about your grandma - I'm sending tons of ((((((hugs)))))) your way.

No run today for me either. The heat is already up to 85 degrees and soooo humid. I think it's beach day if I get my cleaning and errands done in a timely manner. I will get some kind of workout in, but not sure what yet.

I've decided to take on my new business adventure of selling Tastefully Simply. Soon I will have a website up and then you guys are more than welcome to take a look at it and order if you are intersted. No pushing, believe me......just FYI. ;-)

Have a great day - I'm trying to think about how to organize "my office". ;-) :) ;-) :)

Marcia.

Ahhh, I love rest days!! I did hear my dh, but went back to sleep! I feel so refreshed too! But honestly, I didn't feel totally exhausted by 9 last night so I think my body is finally adjusting to earlier hours! Thanks for the hugs!

Have fun at the beach!! And G/L w/ TS. I really love their stuff, it's all so good! I just got invited to a party at a friend's house next week! I'll let you know how it goes...

Have a good one!

Hugs,

Good morning Cheetah-runners,

Sorry I've been mia, but planning a party is muy time consuming. :)

Carole, good luck with you 50K. I am in awe of the stamina you must have, and I have an even greater appreciation of it considering how I felt after a "mere 2K" was added to my course last weekend. :) You go Super Carole!

Shelly, are you enjoying P90X so far? Enjoy your rest day.

Jess, I'm saying a prayer for your Grandma. Enjoy your rest day too!

Wendy, have fun at your mil's, and enjoy your weekend!

I have not run this week, and I only did PUB once, but my body aches from all of the running around involved in planning a party. Why did I decide to invite 80 people to my house for a luau? (Carole, I need one of your pulling my hair out smileys here. :)) Since my weight is pretty stable (not where I want it, but steady nonetheless), and we're no longer going with my parents to the Carolinas, I've decided to just take another "rest" week and get back on track.

Hi Barb, Elaine, Karen, Marcia, Mattea, Laura, Christine, Judy, Thomasina, and all who check in later.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Pamela

Wow, Pamela. That sounds like quite the task!! I'm sure it will be a blast though!!! Take some pics to share! Enjoy your time off & then get back to routine!!

Hugs,

Oh yeah, Carole. I was just curious about your post about carb-loading. I'm not a fan of pigging out on a ton of spaghetti the night before a long run, but you do eat a bit more carb before a long race, right?? Would you mind sharing your typical night before race meal?? Just curious!! Also, do you do gels or what do you take during your 50K?? Thanks!

Hugs,

Happy Friday Cheetah Babes!!

Exciting weekend for a lot of us! First and foremost – GO CAROLE GO!!! Good luck and have a blast on Sunday!!! I know I’ll be thinking of you on your 50k when I run my little 10k. You’ll keep me motivated to run – and of course, SuperCarole the stuffed Cheetah will run with me for all the lovely cheetahs on the board! And yes, you are our hero!!

Elaine and Amy – I look forward to seeing you on Saturday and maybe meeting up with you on Sunday as well! I’m excited. Unfortunately it’s supposed to be HOT!!! 101 on Sunday. But, I think we’ll get to the finish line before the worst hits. Thank heavens for California’s cool mornings – eh?

Shelly – enjoy your rest day!! And I agree with Carole – the P90X leg workout can be a killer. I think it just takes some time to get used to.

Wendy – Great job on the tread mill yesterday! I slept in a little today, too – so I understand. Sorry to hear about DH’s OT especially when you had such a great weekend planned for him. Hopefully he’s fully energetic and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SAL!!!

Carole – Have fun! I went out for Italian last night and had a wonderful garden pasta. More carbs… But I didn’t eat too much. Trying to be careful the next few days – don’t want to run with an extra 5 pounds on me!

Jess – sorry to hear about your grandmother!! {{{{HUGS}}}} She’ll be in my prayers.

Marcia – GOOD LUCK with your new business adventure!!! I think that’s great. I’ll look at your website as soon as it’s up. And have fun at the beach.

Pamela – When is the Luau? Hopefully soon so you can get some rest!! I know how it is party planning though. I enjoy it, but it’s SOOO much work.

I’m planning a mish most of MIC hi/lo only, Imax 3 intervals 5-10, CK drills, core max #1, and stretch max. Then tomorrow is OFF! I going to take DD13 to Great America today (it’s an amusement park). Another hot one – and they have a water park. Plus I’m getting house crazy. I’m so used to going going going, that sitting at home is driving me nuts (even with all of the house work I’ve been doing). I need to put together a schedule or something.

Happy Friday all! And one last GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN to Carole, Elaine and Amy for their races this weekend!!

Hi Cheetahs--
Did my tempo run this morning -- despite getting up late (ARGH)

Have to run (like the rat on the treadmill -- with a somewhat decent hair day)

Good luck to you Carole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck to Christine, Elaine and Amy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to hear how the races go!
-Barb:) :) :)

Thanks Barb!

Decided I'd be smarter. Instead of the killer workout I had planned, I'm going for a 3 mile run at a nice easy pace, then I'll come back to Core Max and Stretch Max (recorded Stretch Max off of FitTv finally!). I'm going to be walking around at Great America. I don't want to wear myself out before the race.

Hi everyone!

I'm off to Sonoma, leaving in a couple of hours. I've got my camera packed. Hopefully I won't miss seeing Christine and/or Amy. If I do I'll have someone take my picture!!! LOL!!

Carole, Good luck!! I'll be thinking of you and look forward to hearing about it all!

Hey gals.

I used the elliptical as planned...3 miles in 28.4 mins. Phew!}(

I am still putting off the ab work...I don't really know why but I am...:-(

Lots to do and little time to do it in yet here I sit in front of the computer when I COULD be making headway!:p

Jess: So sorry to hear about your grandma. My grandma and dad each died of cancer and it's heart-breaking to watch. They both suffered for a couple of years. That's the worst part...the suffering. Once they were gone, as awful as I felt, I was so relieved and happy for them that they were finally not in pain any longer and in a "happier place" finally. God bless everyone involved.

Marcia: Good luck with Tastefully Simple. :9 Have fun at the beach!

Pamela: Enjoy your rest week! When's the party? Sounds like fun!

Christine: A 10K is NOT little! Not to me atleast! Good luck tomorrow! I will pass along the Birthday wishes to DH from you. Thanks. :)

Barb: LOL, you are pretty funny! Have a great day!

Elaine: Have fun and good luck with your race!!!

Okay, I MUST get going now...gotta hop in the shower and then pack up the little guy. Gotta get the heck outta here right after he eats lunch! Gotta be back in time for a party that starts at 6pm!}(

Bye!!!!:)

Thank you ladies for your sweet posts about my Grandma!! I decided that I'm going to make the trip to my Mom's (an hour & a half drive) on Sunday after church. My dh can be here w/ the girls so I won't have to worry about them hanging around the hospital all day. That way I'll get to see my relatives too.

I got my new shoes!! Switched back to the Asics gel GT-2110 (I was running in the GT-2100's before the Adidas). I had to get a size 12!! Yes, I have big feet (normally a size 10 normal shoes), but that way my toes aren't squished at all. They feel great & I'm going to go ahead & run in them tomorrow. I'll deal w/ blisters if I get any, that's much better than the black toenails!! I got some Body glide too so I'll coat my toes good anyway!

And I got a couple copies of Family Circle too so now I finally saw myself! Kinda surreal!!

OK, now I've gotta get a quick supper ready & get the kids ready for VBS- last night!!

Hugs,

Hey guys:

I just finished Cardio and Weights, I'm dripping in sweat and lovin' it.

DS and I went grocery shopping and I picked up some yummy stuff. AND, I bought some things for my desk in my "new" office at home :7 :7 I'm so excited! I never thought I'd be so excited about buying a decorative garbage can and pencil holder :7 :7

Jess: It is sooo nice to put a face with your name now that I got the FC. So, obviously Windsor Pilates worked great things for you? Which one did you think was the best for results? Any advice?

Thanks, I'm off to start putting a business office together. Good thing I've been watching "Neat" on FitTV, got lots of good ideas from that show.

Marcia.

carole goodluck on your 50K. Like everyone else said, I bow down to you and your stamina girl!!!

jess sorry about your grandma. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.

hope everyone has a great night!
