Good morning ladies!

Well, I looked around and couldn't find a new thread so I figured I'd start. Hey, I found new smilies, and different fonts, and different colors!!!! I'm sure you guys probably already found em though...I'm usually behind with stuff like that :p. You just have to change the text editing button in the user cp.

Wendy - Glad to hear you guys did well last night! WTG! Just keep diggin :D.

Karen - Good morning! If you've been talking to Cathy and Carole then you *must* be "good people" :D. I've only been here for just under a year and I couldn't imagine not having these ladies in my corner.

Gotta get to work, like, NOW! Will try to get back here tonight. Have a Cheetastic Tuesday!

Good morning, everyone!

Wendi :: you might be right--maybe the heat was too much for the Garmins! *lol* I seem to like linear, but the page automatically reverts back to hybrid. I do like many features of the new forums, but I must say, there is something to be said for simplicity. I think I'd rather have more signature options or no limits on smileys than give every user the space & opportunity to blog...Baggin' up at the belches flyin' here...I have the same issue with shorts, so I wear a compression short underneath...I was not planning to take either of the Friday morning RT classes because of them being *advanced* step, and I'd imagine Cathe would probably even ratchet it up some more for the die-hard steppers. That's just not me. :) I have lunch plans this Friday, but if you and Shelly come down for the Aug. RT, I would love to meet you for breakfast or lunch after your class.

Posh :: ut oh...is it an abcess? Hope DH's tooth has been taken care of...Haaa 'bout the discount.

Karen :: I hope the test results bring good news. Enjoy your time in Wildwood.

Wendy :: I did finally solve the mystery of the unknown donor. She's a friend of one of my work friends. I haven't quite gotten the lay of the land here yet, so I'm having lots of DOH moments. :) I am finding that I am missing some posts somehow. Great job burnin' up the lanes last night.

I'm going to scramble up my rotation again this week to accommodate this week's long run. Normally, I'd do it on Sunday, but since I have a BBQ Saturday, I'd like to move the long run to that morning. Today, I'll be doing a mosh to work legs, CST, abs, and if I'm really feeling ambitious, I may throw in 4DS BC.

Enjoy your day!

Good Morning Peeps.

I have a headache. I woke up with one. Odd unless I'm hungover!LOL I just drank 2 glasses of water and will be taking ibuprofen in a minute. I hope it goes away FAST. I want to hit the gym this morning and a headache doesn't go well with exercise. :(

On the bright side, OMG the DOMS!!! LOL My chest is on FIRE! I LOVE it! Today will be shoulders, core and calves (in additition to the run). I guesss it will just be a layering affect this week. By the time I leave for vaca I won't be able to MOVE! LOL

Cathy: Well I am glad that the docs seem to be rulin' out the more serious possible causes for your double vision issues. Keep us posted on what the neuro says when you go. Do you have an appoinment yet...or did I miss that too? :p ITA about the smilies, etc. Forget the blogs and give us more FUN stuff!:D

Wendi: Oh we have a shovel that we faithfully bring with us to bowling every week now!;) Hope work goes by quickly!

BB to catch up on personals from last night in a few.

Wendy :: sorry about your headache. Sucks when you wake up with one. Hope the ibuprofen kicks in quickly. *lol* about the bright side of DOMS...No, I don't have an appt. yet. Scheduled the bloodwork and need to call the neuro today. I'm thinkin' all will be A-OK, but I'd like to be sure. :) I posted about the smilies on the suggestion forum...Oh BTW, I just recently added Yahoo Messenger and Skype, so just an FYI - I sent a couple of test messages to you on Yahoo just to get the hang of it.

Just want to add an FYI re: our social group...

It looks like the photos and messages we post there are still viewable by all.

I didn't realize that.

And I'm not really sure what the point is then of having social groups. Anyone know?

Cathy: So what is Skype? I've heard of it but have no clue what it is. I logged on to Yahoo and got your messages. I tried to reply but was having trouble. I am the same-no IM'ing since AOL. I used to use AOL IM all of the time. Now I rarely use anything mostly because I don't find folks are on it as much so I stopped logging on as well.
Not sure what the purpose of a social group is if it's not private. Perhaps I'll scope out the FAQ section today and try to find out for us. :)

quick Hello!

HI Cheetahs

This has to be quick. I am off to golf and make a lunch for DS. Yesterday I had all I could to do get in a 30minute iTread. We had car problems so I was driving kids to and from work etc and picking up the car from the shop.

I am thinking I am done with NROL4W for now. Tomorrow I will try the KB DVD that the trainer will let me borrow. ANd then I will decide. The book suggest taking time in between stages and not always doing 3 workouts per week. I started out doing 3 workouts every week up through the end of stage 3. In stage 4 I had to do some 2 workout weeks, and the extra recovery was actually helpful. DOMS were more prevalent in stage 4.

Wendy- nice bowling scores! Sorry about the headache!

Wendi- I still can't add color to my siggy here.

Cathy- Hopefully after we get used to this new place we will love it. I am still orientating!

OK GTG... hope to get back later

Hi Cheetahs!!

Cathy – sorry the Garmin was flakey. Funny about DH and his travels – they sound exciting but he rarely gets to see anything. And Beijing is really bad. I know they have cleaned it up since it’s the Olympic city, but China is general is horrible. I don’t know how people live there – DH says it’s a lot worse than India. I agree with Shelly – I would not want to be performing there. Enjoy your workout this morning – sounds like a goodie!

Lorie – Glad your back and had fun! Enjoy your babies!

Carole – well Beau (or Bo) is sweet as pie! I’ll bet you’re just having a blast with him!! Sadie will get used to him and probably come to appreciate his company, but it will take time. Much easier with a boy and a girl as they hold different rankings and don’t have to fight for dominance. Kimo adores Jimmy now, but when he was a puppy she was not as sure. :p

Wendy – enjoy your week of something different! I do both bells and weights – mix them up – and that seems to work best. Enjoy your 4DS Week. Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well!

Dallas – sorry your lost you post of personals. UGH! I haven’t been logged out of the forums yet, but it may have been a glitch. DH works for a major networking company and he is assigned to different projects to make sure they go well. Usually it’s really ticked off customers, but not always. He’s a great people person and is wonderful at bringing in the right resources at the right time.

Gloria – Oh yeah, DH never works out when he’s in China, which is funny as he runs and works out in general everywhere else. Yeah, the middle of the night with the puppies is not fun – but they’re such babies at that point. I like to get my dogs a little older – around 4 months – so I don’t have to deal with that, but that’s not always possible. Jimmy was 3 months when I got him.

Shelly – Well, our weather will eventually work its way over to you. I hoping it makes it there in two weeks while we’re in North Carolina! :p I honestly don’t think it’s fair of the international Olympic committee to put politics before the health of the athletes. China never should have been chosen for so many reasons, but what’s done is done.

Posh – Hope DH is feeling better after the dentist appointment!

Wendi – I answered your question about DH to Dallas. If you don’t mind, I don’t feel like repeating it. :p I’d love to share my cooler weather – it will work it’s way over there eventually. It always does. Nice to see your kitty again! Hope your busy life gives you a moment to breathe! I didn’t know about the text either. Too cool – thanks for sharing!

Judy – sorry about the car problems! That’s not fun. Enjoy your break from NROLW – sounds like you did well. I hope you got something out of it.

Not sure what I’m doing today, probably a bike ride of some kind. Or I’ll take a rest day. I have a rest day scheduled, but as I took off last Friday, I might workout. I need a bit to wake up and realize that I really do want to move. :p It’s quiet here with DH in Beijing. He’ll be back Saturday morning. I’m getting caught up with work, which is nice. Have a great day all!

Hi Judy. Can't wait to hear what you decide to do next work out wise. Sorry about the car problems. Hope all is fixed now.

So girls, I know this will be hard to do but I think we should try to get as many Cheetahs together as possible to meet on a specific and time to try out the chat room on here! I think that would be lots of fun to have some real time Cheetah Chatter!:) Obviously we are hard pressed to get EVERYONE but even if we can get 5 of us together at one time that would be AWESOME. What does everyone think?

Christine: We were posting at the same time. Isn't the "quiet" without the DH around THE BEST!? LOL I love when my DH is gone for a day or 2. It's like sending your child to a sleep over. :) Enjoy it while it lasts. I really enjoyed the bells only rotation. I think I would like to go back and forth between traditional weight training and bell only rotations. Trying to put together a rotation that includes both would be too much trouble for my brain unless it was similar to what I did with Afterburn...2 f/b traditional work out and 1 k/b work out or vice versa.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...Yes it does make sense about the different ways to see the threads, so far I have changed nothing and hope it works that way! Had a hard time with my avatar last night until I saw "How" to do it in the support forums! Re, your eyes. I think anytime a 2nd opinion is the way to go especially if you have questions that you feel have not been answered. I cannot believe the one Doc only spent 10 min with you!! So, how did things go yesterday? (sorry if you already answered that!) Sounds like you have a good plan this week for your long run. You have a good workout planned for today. Not sure about the Social Groups now???

Wendi...my legs felt good after the 10. In fact the run yesterday felt easy! Emily posted about the editing yesterday, cool to have all the options now!!

Gloria...we have talked about a new puppy. I knew it was in the cards eventually, but DH is not too speedy with fixing up a kennel in the back yard. He also has some clutter/crap to get rid of. So maybe this weekend. So you will use Ellie and Pip together for the birds?

Christine..thanks for your thoughts on the dogs. I have found it is easier with a male and female myself. I have had many dogs and the problems usually came with the same sex ones. Sadie has warmed up some, but she still seems to guard me! Enjoy your bike ride or rest day, Glad DH won't be gone too long.

Shelly...How was 4DS yesterday? Thanks re Beau. I think it will be cool to run with a dog again...:)...It felt great getting in 10 again, hopefully I am on the distance roll!

Dallas..I got Brooks Adrenelin GT8. They were recommended on the O/F by Karen. Awesome shoes. Thanks re Beau. Good job with the 4DS workout and 4 miles.

Wendy..good workout yesterday, Thanks, Beau is a cute little guy...:D..Sorry about the headache, hope it subsides soon.

Karen...nice to see you here! I am glad running helped you with the stress you have been going through. Sounds like you have some fun races scheduled!!

Hi to Judy.

Beau had a rough day yesterday. We think he might have eaten some chicken poop or some blood meal that DH uses in his garden the previous night. Not to be too graphic but he was going from both ends. DH took him to the Vet anyways for his shots but the Vet didn't want to give them to him yet as he was so lethargic. He was concerned about a few things so he gave us some antibiotics for Beau. Last night after Beau ate he was back to his old spunky self. He had a great night, barely crying at all and things came out better this morning!!

I am going to do 2 leg endurance workouts this week instead of heavy to change things up. So today is B&G standing and PlyoX.

Have a great day...:)

Carole:Sorry Beau was sick yesterday. Glad he is feeling better today. I can't run with my dog. First of all he's too lazy! LOL Secondly, he does not go on a leash with any regularity so he's no good with it. I'd just get dragged every which way! LOL

Hi all, I"m glad I found the thread today. Thank goodness for the last post thingy or I would be really lost.

Today I did a 5 mile interval run. It is hot as heck here in MD and no amount of fans or cool air will help. I swear I looked as if someone poured water on me. I was half tempted to go out and jump in my kids swimming pool but I opted for the shower :)

Wendi-Have a great day at work. I wish I could figure this site out. I never have anytime to really get into it to figure it out. However I did watch the nutrition vidoe thing they are going to offer. It looked neat.

Cathy- I'm hear. I found the tread. Thanks for the tip on using the last post. Hope you made it though your ambitiouse workout.

Wendy- Sorry about the headache. Hope your feeling better by now. At least enough to make it to the gym. I have been trying to get off of caffeine and my headaches have be horrific. I told dh last night I didn't think I was going to make it. If your the caffeinated cheetah then I'm your half sister :)

Judy- 30- min I-tread is an awesome time crunch workout. Enjoy your day out.

Christine- I'm sure your up and out on the bike by now. I hate days when I go back and forth about what to do. Eventually I get moving and feel better for it but sometime it's nice just to SIT.

Carole- I'm sorry to hear about Beau but I'm glad he is doing better. My shoes are still doing the trick. Now I know for certain they are a keeper becasue my feet sitll don't hurt.

BBL - Off to play with the kids and take them to the library. Karen

Good morning Cheetah Girlz! Whew! I finally got in here. Didn't want to change my user name and password. So, I waited it out until that password finally showed up.

Wendi - Haven't had time to play around here yet. Have a good day at work.

Cathy - Yes, will take some getting use to all the changes here. Oh, yeah, get the long run in before the BBQ and then enjoy it. LOL!! Enjoy your workout! Thanks for the heads up on the social group.

Wendy - Sorry about the HA. Hope it's long gone.

Judy - Have a fun golf game!

Christine - Enjoy whatever workout you decide on. DH in Beijing just before the Olympics! Is that good timing or is he glad to get out before the games start?

Carole - Glad Beau is feeling better. Tell him to stay away from that chicken poop. LOL!! Enjoy B&G and PlyoX.

Hello to all others!

Today's workout was iBi Boot Camp. Starts out with an 8 minute run. Then it's on to the EXT and floor intervals. Instead of doing the intervals, I did 30-60 second sprints on the EXT or TM. It finishes up back on the treadmill. Kept the workout interesting! Did a 10 minute stretch.

Have a great day!

Jackie

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Quick post. Pip is keeping me on my toes. I was too tired last night to post. My workout was DM. Haven't done that in a while. Today will be a run. I have some things to do so I will post personals a little later. Just wanted to pop in and say hi. BBL. :)

Gloria

Hi Girls.

Karen/caffeinated half sister: I am going to Ocean City MD on vacation from this friday through tuesday. How far away from there do you live? I have NEVER tried to get off caffeine though I have cut back. I try to drink only 2 regular cups in the morning and then I try to drink decaf the rest of the day. It doesn't always happen that way but atleast I make the effort. I have more decaf coffee in my house then regular these days so that helps. :)

Well my headache is gone but I feel like a walking zombie. No energy for a run so I'm nixxing the gym. I'd rather nixx the run and be able to do the weight work later then force the run and end up blowing off the weight work. I am hoping to get in some HIIT style cardio after the weights though. ;) I have to work tmrw morning and tmrw and Thurs call for the cardios in 4DS that I like so I want to do them. That being said, I think I will go the gym for 8am sharp (famous last words!LOL) on Fri. morning to get in a run before DH gets home to head down to MD.

Speaking of MD I am trying to figure out what to bring/do for exercise while I am there. I haven't checked but I am pretty sure they don't have a gym at the hotel. I don't think I'll be getting up with the chickens to run outside in an area I am not familiar with. We are staying in an efficiency room which means I'll likely have an area large enough to do a reasonable work out in. I could bring my portable dvd player and minimal equipment if I wanted to or I could just bring equipment and do my own thing. Hmmmm...any suggestions?

workout done!

Wendy :: Skype is another messaging/phone/video conferencing service. I don't know all that much about it, but I heard about it in class last week and decided to poke around a bit. Not sure that I have reason to use it...Sorry your energy is low. Knowing you, you'll perk back up and do some maniacal workout. Re: your vacation, I would maybe bring a single kettleball and band to do your own thing while still traveling light. If possible, maybe you can run on the beach?

Judy :: hope you had a good day on the course.

Christine :: oh, no big thang on the Garmin. Flukes happen, and this was a familiar course so it didn't have any impact...I remember you saying DH doesn't really get to sight-see. It's too bad he can't finagle an extra day or two in some of the places appealing to him. Did you wind up working out or resting?

Carole :: About the social groups, yeah, I'm not really sure why we would post over there when we already check in here? I did check out the FAQ Wendy mentioned, but I still don't quite get it. Oh well...I am getting bloodwork done and will be scheduling a neuro appt. EGADS about Beau! *lol* about things coming out better this morning. Glad the little guy's doing better.

Karen :: Good job with your interval run. Hear you on the scorch factor. According to our forecasters, we'll be getting a reprieve starting tomorrow. Amen.

Jackie :: Yay! You're back!...I see you *get* my long run/BBQ strategy...*lol* What are those floor intervals usually like on the iBiClimb?

Gloria :: enjoy your run! I'm sure you're burnin' extra calories with the little Pipster.

I opted for an L&G mishmosh (about 30 minutes) followed by the C, S, T, and ab segments from PH. Finished that off with 4DS BC. Feelin' good n' worked here.

Wendy- The only reason I'm trying to get off the caffeine is because I was getting headaches after any type of run that was long or stressful ( intervals/ long run/ tempo) Weicht workouts and easy runs I have no problem. It wasn't dehydration because I drink a ton just not the right things. I was drinking green tea all day long. Even though it suppose to be good for you I don't think they mean two gallons a day which I could hammer with no problem as well as my Zero Cokes. I've done this for years so getting off the caffeine is not going to be easy nor do i think I may make it ,but I'm going to give it a try. As for working out at the hotel ( what about Supersets, you could ditch the ball and use a coffee table for biceps) Haven't done this workout in somtime but I dont' remember that one needing too much stuff. You could also do a form of PUB just bring three sets of weights and lay on the floor.

As for OC we are about 2 hours from there. It takes me about 1.5 hours from my house if I wanted to visit Cathe's gym ( which I have not done) and about 4 hours for me to get to Wildwood.

Oh my goodness! I had an absolute FRIGHT
faint.gif
at the scales just now. Ring the alarms!

I went ahead with the premium nutrition software, bugs be damned. I need the feedback of the daily report card grades along with improvement suggestions. This MUST be brought under control before school starts.

I’m Back!!!

Wendy – yeah, the quiet without DH is nice for a day or two, then I get bored. With DD15 gone as well, I’ll be really lonely after a day or two. :p For me, I do upperbody, lower body and a kettlebell workout. I like to work out all groups twice a week. :p Take a 20 pound bell and you can make up your own routine – one piece of equipment – then walk a lot.

Carole – yeah, when Kimo goes and we decide it’s time for another dog, I’ll get a female. Much easier. So glad that Beau is feeling better!!! Puppies eat everything!! Poor guy and poor you – I cannot even imagine what was going through your mind. I’d have been in a major panic! :p Glad your runs are good again! Nice to see you doing some distance!! I’ll bet you’re thrilled!

Karen - It was touch and go for a while, and I only got moving because the dog couldn’t go to day care, but I’m glad I got out. Have fun with the kids.

Jackie – glad the user name FINALLY showed up!! YEAH! Good to have you back. DH would like to spend as little time in Beijing as possible, so he’s glad to get out before the games. We’re considering going to the Vancouver winter games instead. That would be fun! Great workout you got in!

Gloria – Sorry Pip is keeping you awake!! She’ll settle soon. Have fun with your run. DM is a goodie.

Cathy – On some trips he does get to sight see a bit, but unless there’s someone with you, it’s no fun. I went to see Carlsbad Caverns by myself one time, and I so missed being able to grab someone’s arm and saying, “Hey, LOOK!”. He did get to go to New Zealand and was with some co-workers so he got to do some sight seeing – that would be fun. But China is not a place to sight see anyway. You can get some good deals on silks, and on brand-name ripoffs, oh yeah, and on DVD’s (although about ½ of them work – and they are all illegal). But, that’s about it. It’s really dirty and polluted. You don’t want to be outside any more than you have to be. He said there is no traffic now because the government is allowing citizens to drive only every other day. But, it’s still a mess. Hopefully they’ll get a good rain.

I had decided on a rest day, but I got a little restless and did some ab work on the BOSU. Then I called doggie day care and they were booked, so at 7AM (late for me), I got dressed and took Jimmy for a 3 mile run. :D It felt good actually. I figured I may as well especially as I have a 6 miler this Sunday. Jimmy enjoyed it, and he’s now in the office with me asleep. Good boy. Have a great day all!

Cathy! Oh my! I'm sorry to hear about your run in with the scale. Let me know what you think about the nutrition program. I'm really interested in hearing more!
