Cheetah Check In Wednesday 11/15

I love protein shakes. For me, I find a protein shake after a workout really helps my muscles to recover faster. That's usually my drink of choice after a long run, protein shake w/ skim milk or mixed in yogurt. Or to make a smoothie w/ a banana or strawberries- yummy!!

Too funny that you eat mostly CRAP- that made me LOL. I used to eat crap too, but over the last 3 yrs or so I've really cleaned up my eating. I used to be a sugar, carb-o-holic!! Now I really limit my white flours/ sugars & that has helped me a TON. I feel better & look better too! :p

Also, do you drink a lot of water?? That will help also!

Have fun baking cinnamon loaves- sounds yummy!! Aren't you a good mommy!!!
 
HELLO Gals!

Long time no check-in….time has definitely flown by! Just thought I’d try to stop in and say hello to everyone and see what’s been up. I have really missed you cheetahs! I had to stop running a while back as that is what the chiropractor suggested to do to help my hip. But…you just can’t keep a cheetah down cuz I’m back to it. A little at a time though. (Wait, I’m the resident mule but anyway, same thing!LOL) I have been signed up for the PF Chang’s Arizona half so I want to make sure I get to go. That’s why I’m trying to incorporate running again. I booked my flights this week so I’ll surely be going down to run, but I can’t guarantee any speed records like Elaine, Jess, or Sarah etc can do. I promised DH that I would run/walk at a very easy pace. He knows my heart is in running and I just can’t stay grounded from it!!! A funny story: last week I ran 5 easy trail miles with my friend. When we got back, I told my DH “we just walked it” and he belted out, “Bullxxit!, I can tell by your face you guys ran it!”….then he laughed and so did I! Dang red face and sweat gives it away every time! Anyhoo, I’m happy to hear how well my cheetah buds are doing and it is nice to see the pack has grown. Christine, I do want to add that I am thinking of you and sending good vibes your way. You’ll be just fine I know it, because you’re too feisty to let anything get you down! Ok, my lunch 20 minutes is over now, but it sure was nice to read what ya’ll are up to. OH, by the way, I got the preorder DVD’s and would like to say that Butts and Guts kicks my butt and hurts my guts! LOL I also LOVE LIC and BM2. Haven’t tried the rest yet. Hey Wendy, what is the funny association of BM2 and Jess? Geez, I miss all the good stuff!

Hi lovely cheetahs! I'm back and feelin good! Did 7.5 miles of hills and I'm feeling more my old self each day :)

Laurie- Sounds like you are enjoying your increased free time...and making very good use of it!!! The DM premix you did I haven't tried yet....sounds like fun!

LD- Don't avoid hills girl!!! They are your friend and the build strong legs ;-) Have a great time with DrillMax today...hey, if you can handle this workout you can manage a few measly hills!!!!!}(

Judy- Sounds like your gonna have an awesome entertainment center...
do you have a new big screen plasma TV to go with it? :)

Laura- Hey, either of your workout plans sounds great to me!!! Why don't you do both and alternate? I'm terrible that way...when people ask me which to do I always say....do it all!!!}( }( Moderation has never been my strong point...at least when it comes to exercise!

Carole- Had a good midweek 6 miler? You are as dependable as taxes
in your workouts! (What a comparison!) I haven't done a good yoga workout in a while...you reminded me. I guess I'll put one in the schedule tomorrow or the next day.

Elaine--HOLY SMOKES!!! Another marathon? You are one AWESOME cheetah!!!! Which one is this? Where is it?

Susan- Cardiofusion is fantastic isn't it? I did this one yesterday. Just love it. The mix and match premix will absolutely KILL you (in a good way ;-) ) I've never heard about protein supplements assisting in flushing out lactic acid. If you feel you are deficient in your protein intake this supplement certainly won't hurt you! I'll be curious to hear if you feel this is helping you.

Christine- You sound as upbeat and inspirational as always!!!! I would dearly love to meet you someday. Hey, I'm with you....as far as medical news....no news is definitely good news. The docs would be pretty pronto with telling you if it was something serious.

Wendy- Awe come on!!! Don't you want to do a Shelly workout...both B&G AND a run? Oh, I forgot, you are NOT insane like yours truly... a good sensible cheetah!

Jess- Adventures with the Dentist today.....what fun! Sounds like you are progressing with your IT band problem. I think the rest and refocusing will make you a better runner in the long run!

Okay, time to get serious again...I'm headed downstairs for the total body DM premix.....woohooooo !

THOMASINA!!!! My favorite mule:) :) :) :) I'm so happy to hear that you are still planning on the PF Chang's race!!!! I was in doubt that I could manage the marathon as I originally planned. (I gave myself a pretty good groin pullx( x( ) But I've been quite encouraged by my progress lately and feel I have enough time to get back on track with the training. I've been keeping up on my cardiovascular endurance with crosstraining.

My Meatless Inca friend, Thomasina!!! I"m so glad you checked in!! Woohoo, you can't keep a Cheetah down!! I was afraid I might have to leave the checkin while I'm injured but so far the Cheetahs will still keep me. ;-) Too funny about your dh knowing you'd run. Mine would too!! I love B & G & BM2 also. Have you done DM yet???

The funny BM2 association w/ me is that my sisters ALWAYS used to sing Jessie's Girl to me when I was little (my siblings are the only ones that call me Jessie!). So when that song comes on you can think of me! :)
 
Ok Shelly ~ Now I'm really jealous. 7.5 mile HILLY run!! NO fair!!! }( I can't wait to hit the hills again!!! Glad you're feeling more like yourself!

OH yeah, definitely adventures at the dentist. They've gotten to know me well! I know that taking some time off from running has been good, I'm definitely enjoying my new Cathe workouts!!! But now I'm ready to get back at it!! The PT said that once I'm over this, it shouldn't be a recurring problem. I'll be keeping up the stretching for SURE!!!

Now I’m getting a bit overwhelmed! I just started my job, and I have all of these appointments! My boss is wonderful, but I feel awful having to take a full day off for my Stereotactic Breast Biopsy – I have to ice it every ten minutes for the rest of the day – can you imagine me sitting at work with a bag of ice on my boob? Yeah, ah, no…. That’s scheduled for the Monday after Thanksgiving. Then I have a follow up with my doctor on Friday (4:15PM – latest I could get). The doctor who ordered the ultrasound is referring me to another doctor, so there will be an evaluation examine, then the biopsy for that. AAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!

*take deep breath* Sorry, had to get that off my chest. I feel better now. There is a correlation between dairy and these nodules, so out goes dairy. This should be interesting. I would kill for a good cheese. I’m thinking I’m going to have to allow a cheat once in a while. Hopefully that will help. I also want to reduce my animal protein intake to once a day or under. Watch it, ladies, you may have another vegan on your hands! *Runs screaming from the room*

THOMASINA!!! My favorite Meatless INCA! (you will never live that down, will you?!) So happy to hear you’re doing well! I missed you so much! Glad to hear you’re running again, too. I get the same red face (well half of it – the rest stays white – I look like a weird mime).

Jess – OUCH! Sorry to hear about your tooth! I’m so glad you’ll get to run again soon!

Susan – I’m odd. I’m not a fan of fruit, so I don’t eat enough. I use protein shakes to get my fruit. I’ll put a banana and blueberries or strawberries and viola! I have two servings of fruit! I eat a lot of crap, too. I’m going to try to clean that up.

Shelly – I would adore meeting you, too! We live fairly close – we must figure out a race and meet there. I’m sooo happy to hear you’re feeling like your old self again! It’s been a long battle for you! Just in time for the marathon – eh?

Edited to add that my next appointment is Friday at 3:15 PM for my thyroid. x(

Shelley, I hope your healing continues so you can run the full marathon. We’ll be staying at the Buttes by Marriott. And I’m actually going down there with my running friend instead of DH. DH was happy to be off the hook….hee hee…

JESS!!! Oh YEAH, now I get it! Ok, so when I do Body Max 2 now I’ll just sing this version: “dun, dun, dun, dun,…don’t you know I wish that I had Jesseeey’s lungs…how can I be a runner like that?”……LOL! :7

Christine – Get yourself a copy of VEGAN PLANET!!! Just ask the Queen of Vegan, Carole….it is a goodie for sure!

Hey Shelly, see this quote from Christine? You should ENABLE her to pop down to AZ Jan 14 to run the half! Yep, Southwest is running specials right now through tomorrow...AND there's still registration for the half! Whew! sorry, there just didn't seem to be any enabling going on around here...lol
 
Thanks for the recommendation Thomasina - looks fantastic. Just ordered it from Amazon. They don't charge me shipping or tax - can't beat that.

Geez girl - you just pop back in and already you're enabling! I don't know if I'll be up for a half in January, but who knows!
 
Oh man!! For just a split second there I entertained the idea of running PF Chang's RnR 1/2 and nobody was even trying to enable me!!! LOL!! That enabling stuff is purty powerful!!! I don't see how Christine can resist!

Oh, I meant that before I even attempt to think about a half - I have to figure out how my health is. I'm suffering from muscle weakness that is making running difficult. Hopefully that will end soon!

Thomasina - there's no way you would know. It's all wrapped up in this stupid thing I'm going through. It'll be over soon. *knocks on wood* And to think - one month ago I did run a half. I would love to run that with you and Shelly! You ladies are so much fun!

Maybe I can convince DH just to go down to watch *wiggles brows*
 
Thomasina!!! My hilarious cheetah it's so good to hear from you:7 :7 I'm so glad that things are going well for you, I've been thinking about you lately, so I'm smiling to see your post. My bestfriend is doing PF Chang's in Jan. and wanted me to do it with her, but I'm not sure that I'll be able to make it. But I'll let her know to watch out for the crazy bunch of cheetahs running around;-)
