Good morning cheetahs
Barb...thanks...I am always a bit nervous before runs like this. The distance can be so challenging. Since you swim have you ever considered a mini triathlon?
Mattea...I thought you did have the Vegan Planet...the portobello fajitas are also great, ask Elaine!...and I was kidding about back to back races.....I do hope you and your DH are safe from the flooding!!
Christine...wow, then I might need my thermals and down parka to watch Football with your DH! Double your salary!...Way to go!!!
Elaine...7 hours is a 13:17 pace. The cutoff time is 7.5 hours so I do hope I make it......it differs a bit from marathon training as I did more 20 milers that in marathon training and my total weekly miles are just a bit higher. In trail runs they have these awesome aid stations (every 5-7 miles in this 50K). I carry one bottle of Accelaerade and a pack with another bottle with just water in it. At the aid stations I usually have those refilled with ice!! I snack on potatoes and jelly bellies. Hope your mile repeats with DH went well yesterday!!
Karin..looks like alot of tough cardio for the 9 days. I am glad you are putting in a rest day!
Karen..I agree with Christine...you are and always will be a cheetah!! I am happy your mammogram went so well. As for the knee 4-6 weeks really is not that bad. I had trouble with my achilles one time that lasted about a year! Listen to your Doc and take it easy and I bet you will come back STRONG!!
Thomasina...screwball? http://smilies.sofrayt.com/eng/faint.gif[/img]...you are too funny...I did have to look at those initials a few times to figure them out!! I think my training went well, but I just wish I would have gotten in a few 20 plus runs....I agree with you on the SJP step part....it isn't a tough cardio.
I got up about 4:30 this morning. Wanted to run before it got too hot. I ended up with a bit of a shin splint on my right leg...bizarre as I have been running in new shoes, so maybe I am getting lazy on the downhills and slapping my toes down...I did ice last night and it is much better. I picked up a 4 pack of Jania Saffell workouts yesterday for $9.99 at Ross. I don;t feel her kickbox is as tough as cathe but they are fun....I'll be doing a 6 or 7 mile run this morning and some abs. Maybe shoulders if I have time...(my favorite part to work!)...
Have a great day...
