Checking In

Hi there to all you "fitness babes"!! :) Im still alive Debbie H.!!
I took a few weeks away from posting as I havent been doing any tapes and started to feel like maybe I shouldnt post for awhile. My life has been hectic with work travel and upcoming birth of our second child.
Basically I have been mountain biking ALOT over the last few weeks and enjoying the fall foliage. This is my time of year. I am still lifting hard and I have really increased in size as far as muscle is concerned. Believe it or not, I actually tore two pairs of jeans I pulled out for the winter!! Funny as heck! Not sure if wife likes it or not! My legs, bis, and tris have shown really good results as well as my shoulders. Im able to hold my goal weight of 185 lbs. On a 6ft frame that's probably where I want to be. So.......this year's work is paying off. I have been going 3 days a week cardio. It's pretty intense however and I feel no real dropoff in my cardio fitness. Also have thrown in ciruit work here and there.
My week was as follows---still no cathe tapes but I promise to start on those as weather gets colder! I am just enjoying outdoors too much!! :)
Mon. -- 2 hrs. mountain bike, 45 mins. in fitness center on weights: total body workout(QUICK!! -PHEW!!)
Tues. -- nothing
Wed. -- as per Mon.
Thurs. -- nada
Fri. -- 45 min. trail run and no weights.
I also am doing 3 sets of about 60 crunches using ab roller.
Starting this week I will be able to utilize tues. and thurs. again. I was helping my son with paper route on those days but now he has no more soccer practice which was interfering with that.
I cannot emphasize enough the importance of SLOW SLOW SLOW movements when lifting, especially the negative part of a lift. This has really helped me with definition.
Baby has been kicking ALOT and I have been seen talking to Michelle's stomach!! lol!! Im sooooo ready for this and very psyched. Michelle is anemic and has started iron supplements. Everything is GO for Jan. 3!! :)
Take care ladies!! You all really bust your asses(!!) with your workouts and it is extremely motivating to me. Keep up the incredible work ethic.
Your fitness friend,
Trevor :-jumpy

RE: Lorrie!

Hi Debbie!

ANOTHER great week for you! Way to go!!! :-jumpy

The manatees are really incredible, so gentle. They have remained virtually unchanged since dinosaur times. Unfortunately, they are endangered. I'm a member of "Save the Manatee" organization as well as the Sea Turtle Preservation Society, there are several varieties of sea turtles that are also endangered :-mad . Of course, in addition to manatees we also get gators in our canal - not so cute or gentle! But actually, they mind their own business and are interesting to watch.

Happy exercising! :)

RE: I'll check in too!

LAST EDITED ON Oct-30-00 AT 10:55AM (Est)[p]Hi Lisa!

Moose are so cool - gangly and cute! Instead of ravens I have Great Blue Herons in my back yard all the time. Some of them are almost as tall as me. A foot of snow is practically inconceivable to me - it's in the low 80s here today and I think I saw 1 brown leaf - this constitutes fall in FL! But since I spent the first 20 yrs of my life in PA I do miss fall and snow, especially around the holidays!

Anyway, great week for you! I could never do Meaner Legs and Power Circuit on the same day! You must have bionic legs ;-)

Lorrie

Everyone's weeks look great! I can't wait to hear all about the roadtrip from the lucky participants.

My medication adjustments worked out well and this week was much better.

Wed - tired, took a rest day
Thurs - a.m. toddler boy woke up early with a nightmare about monsters so no workout
p.m. NSTA - this is one of the few cardio workouts I can do with the toddler boy under foot
Fri - a.m. A repeat of yesterday - unplanned rest day
Sat - Leaner Legs - OUCH! My inner thighs are still sore! This is the 3rd time I've done this and it kicks my butt!
Sun - out of town company

Happy Halloween everyone! Have a great week!

RE: Much better week

Hi Christina,
Hope this isn't a silly question. What does NSTA stand for?
Is it a video?
Thanks,
Lisa

Hi Lisa!

NSTA stands for "Not So Tough Aerobics by the Firm. Hope you don't mind me jumping in here. :-jumpy!! Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

Trevor!

Sooo good to "see" you around. :)I am glad that everything is fine. That's fantastic the results you have received this year. It took lots of dedication on your part. You've reminded me I need to get going on my AB Roller again. I guess I've been so caught up in Cathe's new tapes. Again, glad to have you back and you keep talking to Michelle's stomach. Can't wait to hear about that lil' one! Also, give Michelle our best wishes. Hope her anemia passes. Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

I had a planned easy week with no weights. Visited Seattle for a few days with my husband, we did a lot of eating & sleeping. I think he would make the trip just for a chance to spend a few hours at REI's flagship store! Caught up with friends, one of whom had to give up running & is now a rower. She looks awesome! Now I don't have to nag her about upper body work. We had to 'fess up about our unused Concept II rowing machine.

Monday: Cycle 16 miles; Trot 40 minutes w/ dogs
Tuesday: Pilates
Wednesday: Spinning
Thursday - Sunday: Seattle! One 45 minute run on the Burke-Gilman trail (figured I could go longer since it was on a hard surface & flat but my knees were sore afterwards. My husband pointed out I should have gone for a shorter run since I don't normally run on a hard surface).

I did penance with Body Max yesterday & was sure sluggish.

Have a great week & safe Halloween!
Debra
