Hi everybody!! Just thought I'd check in and see who joins me.I had an ok week. Nothing to brag about, but nothing to cry about either. Ok, here goes:

MON: Ran 2miles and did CTX kickbox (cardio only) My shoulders were sore fr 3 days!! Tells you how long it's been since I did it! And PS BBA in afternoon. Along with some yoga in the evening.

TUES: walk/run for 3 miles and yoga

WED: run 4miles, PS SLA and yoga

THURS: REST

FRI: run 3miles and PS CST

SAT: run 4miles and yoga

SUN: REST!!!!!!

Well, that's all to report. I may kick it up a notch this coming week, I haven't decided yet;-).
Have a great week everybody!!

Aimee

Ugh. What a week! We had a house guest, who actually didn't interfere with my morning workouts, but a horrible cold, a terrrible earache, and an unfortunate knee injury did!

MONDAY: PH upper and abs

TUESDAY: Still Steppin' (did this even though my knee was having twinges, and I sorely regret it now :-( )

WEDNESDAY: sick/ear/knee rest

THURSDAY: sick/ear/knee rest

FRIDAY: MIS upper and abs

SATURDAY: 60 min. moderate walk (ok on my poor knee)

SUNDAY: going to attempt PSLA floor work only, will do some core work.

I'm so bummed with my week. I guess I should be happy that I at least managed upper body twice, but I really hate that my knee is hurting. I remember this feeling from about a year ago (maybe two years?), and since then I had cut out using the step most of the time. Lately I've been using it more, but I think what did this damage was actually the leg drills from CK last week...
Whatever it was, it stinks!
Hope you all have a great week! I'll be in Pittsburgh for my future sister-in-law's wedding :)
Wendy

I hope your knee heals soon Wendy. Great week Aimee...I fear seeing what you are going to kick it up to!

My week:
Sun. 6 mile run
Mon. CTX upper body and some abs
Tue. MIS lower body
Wed. Started hills on the treadmill, but son woke up. Got in 22 mins.
Thu. biked 3 miles, 3 different times. Two with the boy and one without.
Fri. 4 mile run
Sat. rest

Only two 3 milers this week and then my race on Saturday!!!

Andrea

My week (I feel like such a wimp compared to the rest of you!):

Sunday: Intense Moves
Monday: PS CST followed by Kari Anderson United Steps
Tuesday: Cardio Kicks
Wednesday: PS SLA
Thursday: Cardio Step Challenge
Friday: Christi Taylor Happy Hour Hi/Lo, PS BBA & Leaner Legs
Saturday: The Method Precision Toning
Sunday: Intense Moves

Next week I start a new rotation!

JenniferAnn

I don't know why you feel like a wimp. That week would knock me out! What is your new rotation?

Andrea

Hi everyone!

JenniferAnn, your week was hardly wimpy. But I would like to say that the check-in isn't just for the obsessed in case some lurkers are intimidated. We're not competing, just sharing ideas & staying motivated (or trying)!

Andrea, you must have felt like a rocket when you rode your bike without your son! Good luck next Saturday. I'm doing an event too.

DH's first week of teaching so things were chaotic. Looking forward to settling into a routine.

Mon: Leaner Legs (more about that below)
Tue: Run 25 min w/ hounds; Pilates mat class (legs felt fine when I got up & during my run, but it must have been the last straw. Could barely walk by the rest of the day)
Wed: Swim (legs ok for about an hour post swim; then owww); PS CS&T
Thu: Run intervals; Tamilee floor stretch (legs finally ok; went to a school track to run repeats but decided not to run laps thru football practice; back home tried unsuccessfully to sneak out the door w/o hounds; Repeats are on high on their list of stupid human tricks).
Fri: rest
Sat: run w/ DH - 90 min (kinda stuck here, but felt good so now I can start extending time); restorative yoga class
Sun: PS B&B; PH abs w/ planks

I didn't get Leaner Legs until it was available separately so I'm way behind the curve. Did it once before, but it didn't fit into my training until now. So now I'm whining! Went light but was I ever sore & no, it wasn't the "good" sore.

Have a healthy week everyone!
Debra

RE: JenniferAnn

Thanks Andrea. My new rotation is going to be more endurance with more cardio.

Sunday: Intense Moves or Interval Max (just ordered it and can't wait to do it)
Monday: Powerhour (will be my first time with PH tomorrow!)
Tuesday: low impact cardio for 1 hour
Wednesday: Circuit Max
Thursday: Powerstrike
Friday: BodyMax (just ordered this tape so we'll see if I can really do the whole thing in one day)
Saturday: rest

I haven't quite worked out all of the kinks yet. I'm not sure if I'll be able to go heavy enough with Circuit Max to make it strength as well as Cardio. If it's enough strength I won't be the upper body portion of BodyMax. I've never done BodyMax so I don't know if it will be a good enough lower body workout.

Debra

What event are you doing? I can visualize while I'm running mine :)

I actually STILL haven't gotten the biking thing down. Biking = big leg burn, low heart rate. Running = no leg burn, big heart rate. I don't know if I wasn't going fast enough, or if that is how cycling is done??? Someday I'll have to actually ride with someone who knows what they are doing. I also seem to only like one gear. It's all flat around here so maybe that's why.

And I know what you mean about LL...yikes...

Andrea

Don't laugh

"Running is for the Birds" - ok, you can laugh but don't snicker. It's a fundraiser for a bird preserve in Huntington Beach. My chemistry professor nabbed a bunch of us. DH & I are running a 10K (not together - he's fleet of feet).

About the biking, you may want to try "false hills" this fall. I know you get some serious wind, 'cause it ends up here as the infamous Santa Ana's. Higher gear, lower cadence - if that doesn't make your heart rate skyrocket consider going pro. I hate, really hate headwinds (give me a hill (mountain) to climb anyday), but they really are great training. The Dutch teams do well internationally & it sure isn't because of the Dutch Alps.

Agree that running seems tougher aerobically, but I think you can get the feel with gear selection on your bike. We can play w/ some things after your running event & see what works for you. I have Chris Carmichael's book which has plenty of drills (ideas).

RE: Don't laugh

Actually that's a fun name! Better thank Northern Exposure in Vegas??? Don't know what that's about. So, we'll be doing a 10K together :)

Thanks for the bike info. I'm going to print it and then look at another thread I printed to figure out what the big gears are. I only have a 12 speed. I know it's not cause I'm so awesomely cardivascularly fit. Spinning is VERY tough. Somehow I am able to get past most of the leg burn on that though. And there was wind...both ways???!!!

Thanks again, Andrea

My husband left this week for Costa Rica for the whole month! My week was pretty hectic but I did my best to get some workouts in!

Monday: walk the dog(35mn) take hubby to the airport
Tues: Circuit Max
Wed: off
Th: Cardio Kicks and Power Hour
Fri: Step Heat
Sat: off
Sund: Upper Body Strength(1 hour)
I know this month will be crazy with my husband gone and having our 2 children all to myself but I'm going to try my best to get those workouts in- to save my sanity!! :) Susan
