LAST EDITED ON Jan-26-02 AT 10:55PM (Est)[p]Hello everyone!!! We took our son to the circus today and had a wonderful time. Boy, the circus sure has changed since the last time I went which was probably 20+ years ago. My son will be three next month and I was wondering how he would react to everything. He seemed to really enjoy it. He especially liked the clowns, elephants, and horses. It was funny but he was always trying to see what they were doing in the dark when they were preparing for the next act instead of watching the main attraction. We don't get out too much but these tickets were given to us and they were on the second row. Can't beat that!!!!

MONDAY: Urban Training

TUESDAY: MIS-Legs (no weights)
Tamilee's Total Body Stretch (standing)

WEDNESDAY: CIA 9906 (Step)

THURSDAY: W/U Super Step
MIS-upper body (no abs)
Tamilee's TBS (standing)

FRIDAY: Step This Way (1st section)
Tamilee's TBS (standing)

SATURDAY: Darrin's Dance Grooves (1 hour) Just the first section and about 15 minutes of TRYING the second section.
Tamilee's TBS (sitting).

I enjoyed my week and feel that my endurance is just about where it was before. The upper body workout (even though I only used 5 pounds) made me a little sore in the appropriate places. I still didn't use any weights with my back work and just really contracted the muscles. It felt better this week than last but still being very, very careful. My back seems to be handling everything so far.

Hi Everyone,

Kelly...your week was great! congrats!
Do have a question about Darrin's Dance Grooves. How is it as a work out? Is it slow or fast paced? How would you compare it to an aerobic workout?

Thank you for responding.

O.K., I'm giving myself a pat on the back.

I have not workout since June! My older son developed grand mal seizures. My middle son who has spina bifida had surgery that did'nt turn out as we had hope, change in work schedule, husband started his own business, dad very ill, holidays, goals to meet and exceed at work, roof leaking...don't think I need to go on.
After two weeks of treadmill running and jogging, I am back to doing Cathe's workouts!!!
I am so happy!!! I really thought after such a prolonged leave I would'nt be able to jump back in.

Here's the week!

Mon: Circuit Max, ran 4 miles
Tues: Power Max, ran 3 miles
Wens: Circuit Max
Thurs: CTX Kickbox, S&H Legs & Shoulders
Fri: CTX Power Circuit
Sat: off.

I am so thrilled!! I am really am thrilled!!!
Thank you for letting me boast!!

Hugs To Everyone!!
Laura

LAST EDITED ON Jan-27-02 AT 07:08AM (Est)[p]Hi Ladies!
It's been awhile but I am gonna try this checkin thing again. I do less tape workouts than most of you so that's one thing you'll notice. I try to keep it fresh though!
My week:---starting last Sunday

Sun:
spin class--legs felt like lead because I did a leg workout the day before. We had our no.2 instructor too....she's good but can be a little unorganized during the workout. Very intense still!

Mon. -- chest/tris/abs
Tues. -- 35 min. intervals on stairclimber -- level 8
Wed. -- back/bis/abs
Thurs. -- crosstrainer 35 mins. moderate intensity
Fri. -- legs/shoulders/abs
Sat. -- I squeezed in IMAX....first time in awhile working w/Cathe.....I luv this tape even though it's one of her older ones.

My weight work now is 3sets/8-10 reps. I try to do about 3 different exercises for each major muscle group and two for the others. Legs are different.....about 6 or 7 different lifts on those. Abs I try everything.....captain's chair, various crunches, board, all machines....you get the idea! If anyone ever wants a breakdown of my weight workouts just gimme a shout. My email is in profile....although I apparently need a pic...don't know what happened to the other one I posted!!
Cardio....I mix it up except I always spin on Sun. mornings! You'll see "pump and pace" sometimes in my week----a version of spin using weights. It's awesome!
I luv Cathe but it's harder squeezing her in while watching my 1 yr old....which I often do in the evenings while wifw works part-time. I can usually get 1 tape in every few weeks...Imax and Bodymax are still my faves.
Anyway...that's it!
Go Steelers! --- one win away from the Bowl now. Gotta finish the job!!
Take care ladies!
Trevor :) :-jumpy

Hi everyone. I have not posted my workouts in a while either. But, it seemed to keep me accountable when I was posting, so I think I'll try again.

Monday: Step Heat

TuesdaY: Karen Voight's Stretch tape a.m. and then ski racing p.m.

Wednesday: rest

Thursday: Circuit Max

Friday: Step Champions step tape (I don't like this tape much, but it's the only one I have that is 45 minutes long and I woke up late--any other 45 minute tape suggestions out there??)

Saturday: P.S. Legs & Abs

Sunday: P.S. Shoulders, Tricpes, and Chest--planned. If I'm feeling spunky I'll do the Back, Biceps, & Abs also. No promises though!

Have a nice week!

Cruncholi

Hi all...

I just started getting back on the work out wagon... so only did 3 last week. My goal for this week is 4. Since I'm just getting back I'm just choosing the tape that I feel in the mood for at the time. This week I got a bunch of new tapes... S&H, Circuit max, interval max, body max, power hour.

Other than that A LOUSY week.... All aspects... :(

WOrkout were
Tues - Power Hour - loved it
Thurs - Body max - (not all though)
Sat - cardio kicks

Here's to a BETTER week ahead and 4 work outs

HI Everyone! Knowing that I post my workouts on Sundays keeps me motivated. It has been a stressful week- I am teacher and report cards go out tomorrow. I can't wait for those parent phone calls and letters on Tuesday :(

Sun: Gym: 30 minutes cardio, 45 min. various weight machines
Mon: S&H Chest/Back
Tues: Yoga
Wed: Stepworks
Thurs:S&H legs and shoulders
Fri: planned rest day
Sat: Gym: 20 minutes cardio, 10 min. leg machines, 3 min. abs

Laura: Darrin's Dance Grooves only works for me because it is on DVD. I wouldn't recommend VHS because rewinding is abundant. I am not a dancer so I really have to work hard. It is not your typical workout tape. It is basically just teaching the moves to some hip hop songs. The teaching part is extremely slow so your heart does not go up and you do not work hard. BUT...once you learn the steps and get to the part where it is put to music it is really fun and I do work up a sweat. Intensity is not up there with Cathe by no means. I would count it as an easy fun day. Darrin just teaches the chorus to 3 or 4 songs (can't remember). The first one is Britney's Crazy and the second is Bye, Bye, Bye by NSYNC. I have learn Britney's segment but just starting on Bye, Bye, Bye. All I can say is it is fun but don't look to it for a "workout" video. Also Darrin says HIS right and left so that is a little confusing until you get used to it. :)

Trevor: Welcome back. Like I said before we don't care if you use videos or not you give us the "guy's Perspective". I cannot believe your son is one. Yeesh, time flies.

Yay! Don't ask me why, but I always look forward to checkin now. Perhaps it's because like someone mentioned below, it keeps me accountable! :) Here we go:

Sun. -- CTX 10-10-10 (cardio); CTX Power Circuit (cardio); abs.

Mon. -- Firm, Upper Body; CTX Step & Intervals (cardio); abs.

Tues. -- Firm, Strongheart

Wed. -- Firm, Core Cardio I

Thurs. -- Frim, Standing Legs; abs.

Fri. -- Firm, Vol. 1

Sat. -- BodyMax, 1st cardio section only - twice through! Abs.

Okay, that's it. Hope everyone had a great week, and hope you have a great coming week!! :)

Hi Everyone!

Kelly~Thanks for getting us started! Sooo glad to hear about your endurance! You were smart to take it a step at a time!! The circus sounds like FUN! Glad you could get away!

Laura~You go right ahead & boast! You sure had lots on your plate. It is sooo good to see you back.

Trevor~As always, it's good to "see" you here. I love to read your check-in! You're a WORKER! The "Pump'n'Pace sounds really neat & a breather too! Again, good 2 C U!

Cruncholi~Do you have the CTX Series? Excellent cardios to fit into a 45 minute (or less) time slot. Good week for you!

Robyn~WELCOME back with the "workout gang"! All the new tapes you got are great ones and should really help motivate you. Have fun!

Jaypea~My daughter is a school teacher and I can relate with all the last minute stress of it for you. Great week for you!

Fit@Home~Yes, check-in's are a good way to be accountable. It's nice to see how everyone else incorporates all their tapes and gym work. C U next week!

Andrea~Isn't the S&H series great? I've incorporated some of the SLOW moves into my toning at class. Have you tried it yet? Great week for you.

Sara~It's not corny at all. We SHOULD be proud of all of our hard work. Keep it up!!

Okay, my week:

MONDAY~This is my 2nd. week of a CTX body part Rotation:CTX-CHEST, SHOULDERS & TRICEPS, added 24 dips off the step with a weighted barbell, taught a hi/lo class

TUESDAY~Taught a hi/lo class, CTX-BICEPS, BACK, plankwork & lower back work, plus ABS

WEDNESDAY~CTX-LEGS, Practiced Hi/Lo routines for new session about an hour.

Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH http://www.plaudersmilies.de/wavey.gif If You Get The Choice To Sit It Out Or Dance...I Hope You DANCE!!!

Kelly--Is that Darrin's Dance Groves "as seen on TV"? I saw a commercial for that I think. Looked like fun.

Laura--You've been through a lot and you had a very impressive week, workout-wise!

Here's my week:
SATURDAY: 2:30 snowshoeing
SUNDAY: chest, 30 min. swim drills
MONDAY: bis, tris, Step-n-Intervals, Pilates @ physical therapy
TUESDAY: shoulders, 1000 yd. swim
WEDNESDAY: not feeling so well--loops around the mall
THURSDAY: some hiking at work
FRIDAY: stretching
SATURDAY: 1:30 walk (65*F in Denver!)

I think this past week will be the last of the four sets/six reps super-heavy. My body is definitely starting to adapt. I'm also starting at a Pilates studio this week (no more physical therapy, yeah!) so it'll be interesting to see how I can work it all in.

On Tuesday afternoon, I had a surgical procedure that was supposed to be very minor, but my body reacted very strongly. Am feeling much better now and headed to the gym for shoulders and a swim.

Have a great week, everybody!

I started a CTX rotation this week after not having used this series in months. I still love the strength portions, but the cardio seems so short after having done a rotation with Step Works, Circuit Max and Cardio Kicks to name a few. I'm hoping I dont lose any cardio ground...anyone have any thoughts on this. I did gain back one of the two lbs I lost last week, but my diet this week definitely slacked. So, it's back on the bandwagon tomorrow!

Mon...Reebok Intense Moves
Tues...CTX 10-10-10
Wed...CTX Kickbox
Thurs...planned rest day
Fri...CTX Power Circuit
Sat..CTX Step&Intervals
Sun...CTX All Step

Have plans to do Leaner Legs tomorrow, but I started getting a cold yesterday and have felt very sluggish, so probably will take a rest day tomorrow and pick up again on Tuesday. Have a good week everyone! Wish me luck with my Monday morning weigh-in!

:)Stacy

Gretchen: I'm sorry that I haven't asked about your back lately. So....how's it going? Yes that is Darrin's Dance Grooves "as seen on TV". It is fun. I do count it as a workout because I am moving around but it is not a "typical workout". I just count it as a fun activity and as a way to broaden my horizons, so to speak. I hope everything is well with you.

Stacy: Don't worry about the pound just say you will do better next week and move on. Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Hope your cold gets better soon.

Debbie: Your week always amazes me. I hope to do half of what you do when I "mature". I mean that in the most kindest of ways. :) You and Honeybunch are an inspiration.

Hi Kelly!

Yes, things are fine, I just have to keep a close eye on him now. Yesterday was the first day I let him play at a friends without me there. It seemed to go well.

Have a great week!
Andrea

Zero workouts for me!

We had the week of the flu! Starting last Thursday, my 6 year old daughter started throwing up, and was sick for 2 days. On Friday, my 8 year old daughter and my 4 year old son also started throwing up, and they were both sick for 2 days. Then, last Saturday night, I started throwing up, which I did every 10 minutes for 14 hours. After that, I was practically comatose for another 16 hours. I literally could not get out of bed or function until Monday morning. Thankfully, I was able to function then, because my DH started barfing at 10 pm Sunday night! Sorry for the graphic descriptions, but hey. Stomach workout?

Tiredness remained for the week and I got in no workouts, I'm sorry to say. Hopefully back on track tomorrow.

You all sound so successful - good for you! Healthy fitness, everyone.

Sandi

PS Kelly - can I ask about your back? I have a bad back also and am wondering if you had an injury, or suffer from a "naturally" bad back like me.

Wow!! I feel like I'm late checkin in again!! It was a pretty good week this week. I went and bought myself a little present. A recumbernt(sp?) bike. SportsMart had them on sale. I wanted to get a multiunit home gym too, but I made the agreemnet with my hubby that if he got some speakers that he's been wanting then, I get my gym. Very similar in cost, go figure? Well, he didn't get them, so not wanting to go back on my word, I didn't get the gym. I made up for it with the bike;-)!
OK guys, here's my week:

MON: CTX kickbox and Chest and back
and taught my powerpump and yoga classes

TUES: Yoga and SLA

WED: Gilad's fat burning workout. Man were my legs sore after the night before!! Shoulders, bi's and tri's

THURS: yoga

FRI: CTX AllStep and walked

SAT: Power Circuit, made the circuit part intervals!! I love doing that! Chest and Back

SUN: yoga and Legs and abs

Well, that's my week. Hey you Ohioans and everybody else getting this springlike weather, isn't this great?!?!?!?!?:):):)
