Hi Guys!

Haven't checked in for a couple weeks but I've still been working my tail off. I'm back on a CTX rotation:

S 10 10 10 Tris
M Kickbox Bis
T LL
W S&I Chest
T AllSTep Shoulders
F Power Circuit

Next week I'll be doing 2 body parts per day so I can work them 2x per week. I just love weight training. Speaking of which,
like everyone else I'm so excited about the new tapes I can hardly contain myself. Especially the Slow and Heavy series. Yee-Ha!!! :-jumpy

We're getting ready to demolish our kitchen, dining and living room to remodel (which I've been waiting to do since we moved in 4 years ago) but it's going to put such a cramp in my workout space! :-( Right now I don't care how much I trample the carpet or flatten it with my step or weights since it'll be replaced. Anyone have any good suggestions for sturdy carpet? Maybe someday I'll actually have a real workout room but I don't see that in my foreseeable future. Sigh.

I hope everyone has had great weeks. My only regret for the week is I ate too many Hershey Treasures (the coconut ones):9 :9 and also Blue Bunny Double Strawberry ice cream (kinda counts as fruit doesn't it? ;-) )

Lorrie

The marshmallow peeps are in bloom...

....and I buy them, bring them home and have Sweetie Pie hide them and ration them out to me. I always find his hiding places, but hope with the new and bigger house, he can find a cubby hole I won't think of! I was going to try them dipped in carmel cake frosting, but didn't do it this week. I did not start baking again...instead got a big box of Little Debbies :9 . Maybe next week!

My week was not bad considering recovering from moving.
Sunday: Imax :7- Trevor, I agree that there needs to be a sequel!!!
Monday: One of the new Taebo advanced tapes fom the QVC package deal. A goodie!
Tues: MIS....hate them stinkin' Crazy eights!!!!!
Wednsday: Nuttin'
Thursday: Walk at the Y - 45 minutes
Friday: Big leg workout at the Y, and pooped out after only 10 walking.
Saturday: Stepfit...tried this one for the first time. Didn't do too bad on the flying angels. Upperbody work from Bodymax.

Hey, I got some WONDERFUL fake food from that enasco site!!!!! Debbie, when you come over you'll have to check it out!!! I don't have to keep special toys for grandkids....they just play with my own personal toys!!!!

Enough of this nonsense......what did all the rest of you Cathe-ites do?

As you can tell by my week,I was much more into weight work than cardio...I seem to go through phases like that, sometimes will do cardio like everyday or vice-versa. Either way, I've been feeling very pumped up by doing the "Wendy recommendation" of pairing a CTX body part with a BM body part (or a PS body part with a CTX....or a PS with a BM...I could go on!!!). In just two weeks of doing this, I can already see a definite change in the "sculpting" of my body. It's tough, but well worth it! (Thanks, Wendy!!!)

Monday: CTX Step & Intervals/Chest
Tuesday: PS Triceps/CTX Triceps/CTX Back/Abs
Wednesday: Nada
Thursday: MIS Legs & Cardio Kicks
Friday: PS Chest/BM Chest/BM Biceps/BM Abs
Saturday: CTX Shoulders/BM Shoulders/BM Triceps/CTX Step & Intervals cardio only

As for today, I woke up feeling incredibly lazy...and I'm not going to fight it!

Terri

CHECKIN

I have had a fairly good week. It's definately been a busy one. We are starting the process of buying some land and I didn't realize how involved it would be. It is almost like buying a house. Sooo, someday I can build a house (after we pay off the loan for the land). I am already dreaming of my workout room! :)

MONDAY: CTX-Power Circuit/Back and CTX-Chest

TUESDAY: CTX-Biceps/abs CTX-Triceps and Stepping Zone (30 minutes)

WEDNESDAY: CTX-Shoulders and Leaner legs AND Stepping Zone (15 minutes) My legs were fried!!!!

THURSDAY: CTX-Chest and Stepping Zone (1st section)

FRIDAY: CTX-Back/abs CTX-Triceps AND Stepping Zone (30 minutes)

SATURDAY: CTX-Biceps CTX-Shoulders

My weight workouts got a little off this week but I still got my body parts in. That leaner legs should be illegal. I worked really hard and I felt it for two days.

Have a great week!!!

Kelly

Happy Sunday!

AND THE SUN IS SHINING in OHIO!!! Yipeeee!

Lorrie~Soooo good 2 C U posting again. Good week for you. Good luck with the remodeling. It isn't fun having all that mess in your way ESPECIALLY if it cuts into your workout space. The new berber carpeting that they have come out with is VERY durable and I really love it in our new place. No more foot prints! I can't stand to see foot prints!! My ole sweeper has gotten a good rest since we moved in here! :7 Have fun with the 2 body parts/week. I saw great results doing it.

HB~You are too funny. MARSHMALLOW PEEPS! When I come over to see your new fake food, I'll have to help sweetie-pie find some NEW hididng places! Aren't those Flying Angels fun? They just flow so nice in that routine. Hope to see you soon.

Kelly~We can all relate on the LL's! Whew, it gets me everytime. What is Stepping Zone? It looks like it might be a favorite of yours. Just curious. (NOSEY ;-)!!) Good luck with your land-buying!

Terri~Good 4 U on all your hard work on the body parts. I'm thinking of combining the different tapes together also for the same body part. Whew, I bet it's a worker! BTW, 3 days of cardio is great!! Keep up the good work!

My week looked like this:

Monday~Leaner LEGS, Plankwork & lower back work from PC, Stretch & CD from LL, Taught a Hi/Lo

Tuesday~Taught a Hi/Lo, CTX-TRICEPS, CHEST, SHOULDERS in the P.M.

Wednesday~CTX-BACK, BICEPS, Spinning for 40 minutes (this spinning is TOUGH!), power drills from CardioKicks, stretch & CD from CK

Thursday~Taught 2 Hi/Lo classes

Friday~Spinning for 35 minutes, CIA:Extreme Intervals & PumpParty by Mindy (FUN tape)

Saturday~MY St. Patty's workout~TaeBo2-"Get Ripped" Advanced workout(LOVE this tape), Firm-Standing Legs(LOVE/HATE this tape!), Whew, what a workout! :-tired

Sunday! REST!!!!!!!!!

Have a great week everyone. I THINK Spring is just around the corner! :) :-jumpy :) Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

80 degree weather check-in!

Hi guys! Before I start my check-in, I have to share a joke from one of the three year olds in my class (they make me so happy!!!):
Knock-Knock.
Who's there?
Egg.
Egg who?
Orange you glad I didn't say banana?!(Delighted laughter follows from all)

Think she's got the joke thing down yet???!!!

Ok, anyway: (Lorrie, no carpet suggestions, but have fun with the chaos of remodeling!; Terri, whooohooo on the newfound definition!; Honeybunch--you are too funny with your sweets!; Debbie--how on earth are you able to do spinning followed by anything, let alone hard leg stuff???!!!)

MONDAY: PS and CTX BACK--actually felt my back muscles the next day!!--Circuit Max (used a barbell for legs and did no arm work, then extra step-ups and back lunges while Cathe did back work) this was to make up for a missed leg workout on Sunday
TUESDAY: PS and CTX chest, IMAX wu + STEPFIT (no step, 55 min total)
WEDNESDAY: PS and CTX shoulders, AllStep abs
THURSDAY: PS and CTX bis, 2K01 Step and Strike, 8 min leg stretch
FRIDAY: Kari Anderson Great Moves floor and step (50+min), LL abs
SATURDAY: MIS legs, Bmax leg circuit+ MIC step (30 min cardio total)
SUNDAY: gotta get TRIS in, and 45 minutes of cardio

Bummer of the week, my DVD player wont read discs (happened right after LL abs on Friday) :-(

Have a great week, everyone!
Wendy

Glad to hear you like the fake food!

Hey HB,

That Nasco rubber food IS pretty cool isn't it?...and it's not just kids who like to play with it ;-).

And hey, I love those peeps too...I plan on buying a few next time we're at the store...and with frosting on them...YUM :9!

Wendy...about that DVD player...

Is yours a multi-disc changer??

We had to take our Sony 5-disc changer in last week for repairs after several weeks of it acting up (i.e. refusing not only to read but to recognize that the disc was there :-mad !!) How frustrating. Anyway, it's going to be in the shop for at least two weeks and I'm bummed too...no more multi-disc programming/creation of Cathe combos :'(.

So, I feel your pain. Hope you can get your player fixed soon :).

Lisa

Great workout weeks for everyone here!! :) :) !!

Here's mine (pretty close to last week for me):

Sunday - Imax; PS BBA; PS CST (BTW, this is always my longish workout day since I'm a Nascar widow ;-))
Monday - 60 minutes on elliptical machine; Leaner Legs (hadn't gotten sore from LL for a while but my buns were speaking to me the next morning!)
Tuesday - Mindy's Extreme Intervals (love the music on this one...and Mindy herself :)); CTX upper body split; planks and abs from Power Circuit
Wednesday - 45 minutes elliptical machine
Thursday - MIS
Friday - combo of w/u and cardio from SNI + cardio from All Step + stretch from 10-10-10
Saturday - Cardio Kicks

That's it. Have a happy and healthy week everyone.

Lisa :)

Ugh, 2 weeks??!!

Yes, Lisa, mine is a 5-disc changer, too, although its a Toshiba. It doesn't recognize that there's a disc there, either!!! Incredibly frustrating!!! Plus, I'm having additional problems with the sound on all of my Cathe DVDs, which Chris is trying to help me solve, and now I don't even have the dumb player to work with! Well, at least I still have the tape version of SOME of the stuff I have on DVD. Unfortunately I sold my CTX tapes, so I'll have to wait a while (hopefully a short while!) to get back to those combos!
Good luck with your DVD player, too.
Wendy

RE: Happy Sunday!

Debbie,

Stepping zone is a Christi Taylor tape that I just got the other day. Sooooo I am "trying" to learn the choreography. That's why I did it so many times last week. I think it and Happy Hour were the tapes she came out with before the heavenlies. I haven't been a Christi fan for that long so I may be incorrect in saying that. Anyway, the tape is so much fun but I haven't done the whole thing yet, just taking my time.

I don't mind you being "nosey"!!!! :)

Kelly

Hi everyone. It has been two weeks since I checked in but my workouts have been good. My hubby and I had a great time in Arizona even if the weather was not as warm as we hoped. Played golf seven days straight ( that's a lot for me too ) and only got rained on twice.

I just read some energetic work-out weeks. Great job everyone!

Lorrie good luck on your re-modeling. It never seems to get done fast enough.

Sorry Honeybunch I just can't swallow those peeps but give me jelly beans any day!

Lisa, Terri, Kelly, Wendy and Debbie - your workouts inspire me. I have enough with doing one of Cathe's tapes at a time but might consider splitting them up like suggested.

I am on a CTX rotation and just completed the second week. The workouts seem a little shorter than I am used too. I hope I am not losing any endurance or strength. It is nice to take an easier rotation after 12 weeks of more intense one though! Well, here was my week:

Mon. CTX 10-10-10 entirety with abs
Tues. CTX Power Circuit entirety
Wed. CTX All Step entiretywith abs
Thurs. CTX Leaner Legs with 25 brisk walk on treadmill
Fri. CTX Kickbox entirety
Sat. Imax and chest work from CTX step & intervals ( I just
I needed to test my endurance and it was still there. Whew!
Sun. Yoga. I purchased a tape at Sams, Yoga for Athletes with
Rodney Yee. Don't know about it this is just my second
doing a Yoga tape.

Have a great week everyone!

Hi everyone!
Feels good to have something to post this week. I am finally over my bought with bronchiitis ao I had a pretty good week.
Here it is:
Mon. --35 mins. on the precor. weight work on chest and shoulders. ab routine on the roller
Tues. -- IMAX baby! gotta luv it!!!!
Wed. -- another 35 mins. on precor. weight work on back and legs. ab routine on the roller
Thurs. -- off
Friday -- 35 mins on precor then decided what the heck, and did 2 sets on all the weight machines in the fitness center. abs on the roller.
Sat. -- cant move because I am so sore from the weight work on friday! had guests over for dinner and decided to hoist a few imported beers with strange names and elevated alcohol contents! :)
Sun. -- today I am off again except I did do about 20 mins. of ab work.
I am doing 2 sets on each exercise with the weights right now. Had to lighten up some because of my layoff. Performing the negative on each exercise VERY slowly. Forces me to concentrate hard on each rep and I feel quite pumped afterward. Trying not to perform the same exercises all the time. For instance even though I did do the precor 3 times I used different programs and resistances.
Any basketball fans in here? GO TERPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great week everyone!
Trevor :) :-jumpy

LAST EDITED ON Mar-18-01 AT 07:32PM (Est)[p]OMG little debbie's are the best! I can make a meal out of those.
Trevor :)

Still plugging along with endurance for now and I think I'll be sticking with it this week as well. I've had this past week off and was fine with my schedule in the beginning but it deteriorated towards the end.

Monday: CTX Upper body split

Tuesday: Cardio Kicks, with all my KB tapes and the class I used to take regularly, none of them hit my lats and upper back like this tape does. LOL..I was going to do some Taebo to tack on to Cardio Kicks..but I overestimated how much this tape works me...I was done for the night.

Wednesday: AM workout Power Bar Training Still alternating between the split CTX and the Full Body Sinister Sisters tape;-). PM, TBAL#3

Thursday: Tamilee Active Stretch

Friday: Was going to work legs but had a nice unexpected visit from old friend and skipped a workout today.

Saturday: :)ECA in NY and a VF get together. It was a super day. Saw some neat new gadgets at the show...one was a half ball you use for core strength...we were pretty tempted by it, good thing they didn't have them there to take home or we would have looked pretty funny dragging those into the restaurant later that night. Had a few celebrity sightings but didn't talk to anyone. Watched that Urban Rebounding again..and boy do they make that look fun. They are going to be doing promos on QVC this summer...if they have good video, I might have to look into seeing how it would work with modifing it to a jumprope video, the beat was close and they pretty much just jump around. And we tried everything short of torture to get Brenda to give us any and all inside info on the new Cathe tapes..but she wouldn't squeal..I still think we should have hung her out the window of the revolving bar on the top floor of the Marriott. Oh..and this was a rest day...or was it..up at 5am, travel into the city and home by 12:30am..yeah..rest day;-)

Sunday: Body Bar Abs/Back with Keli Roberts. Bought this one at the show yesterday. I probably should have worked in a good leg workout since that's what was next on the rotation and I've already put it off..but yesterday was a long day and I just wasn't up to it..so abs and back it was.

RE: Carpet suggestions

Hi Everyone!! Lorrie, we are doing the same thing!! I went with burbur(sp?). The color I chose was Summer Haze. Very pretty. They say, very sturdy too. I takes an 8lb pad underneath. Mine's coming Fri. I just laid down my tile today and we went and got our new dishwasher. My DH wants to convert our garage into a workout room for me. I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, the living room will have to suffice.....

HB-Don't like them Peeps none, but give me Reese's eggs anyday!!!

Well, my week was not all Cathe this time(sorry Cathe) I was in the mood for some oldies I had laying around the house. unfortunately, they didn't give me near the workout that they used to(THANKS CATHE!!) It was good to know that something that used to kick my butt barely made me sweat. Ok, onto my week!!

MON: LL and All Step and Yoga

TUES: Kathy Kaehler's Fitness System and Yoga

WED: Yoga and tap, and U.R., and BodyPump

THURS: Kathy Smith's Power Step and Yoga

FRI: Kickbox, SNI, and Yoga

SAT: 10-10-10, Power Circut, and Yoga

SUN: YOGA, YOGA, and YOGA

Speaking of Yoga, I got a new tape, Yoga with Ateeka. AWESOME!! It's beautiful!! Quite a good session too! I rank it up there with Ali MacGraw's tape! If you're on Amazon and see this tape, GET IT!!

Ok, I'm going to get off here. My only complaint for this week is that I have gained 10lbs over the winter. I can't believe it!! They crept right up on me!! So, I'm trying to devise any good eating plan. Any suggestions would be greatly apperciated!

Have a Good Week All!!

Aimee

RE: Check in

Trevor, what is precor?

HB: I love peeps, too. Hope we can meet in or around Akron this summer--we are too much alike already...

DebH: do you choreograph your own hi-lo for the classes you teach?

This week I did:

Kathy Smith Great Buns and Thighs
Firm Lo Impact Vol 2
Mindy Intervals 2101 ***SUPER< SUPER!! :-wow
Firm Body Sculpt Vol 1 (altho, for the first time, I noticed the form on Susan Harris' oblique crunches is terrible!!)
Jennifer Kreis Precision Pilates (new)
Brenda Dykgraff Step
Vol 5 CTX Power Circuit
Firm Max Cardio
Minna Lessig Strength and Grace

RE: Carpet suggestions

On the weight gain: Step # 1...Start keeping a food journal. Write down EVERYTHING you eat, and start fine tuning.

RE: Food Journal

I do that already!! It's like "ok, if I eat this, I'm going to write it down and know exactly just how much I ate no fibbing to myself about it!" I eat it anyway, then groan because I knew it was not necessary to begin with, and then to have it staring at you in black and white. Well..... I start each day eating healthy, but It just goes KRUPLUNK!!

RE: Food Journal

Just out of curiousity, what triggers your "Kruplunks"? Any ideas? Sometimes what works for me is to just not keep certain stuff in the house, like Goober Grape and marshmallows or marshmallow creme. I can't control myself with that stuff. Maybe do a sort of Weightwatchers points deal where you allow yourself certain foods in small portions.

If you know you can't like without some ice cream each day, make some room for it by tweaking your eating somewhere else. I MUST have a little cheat food each day, I don't fight it, and just allow for it.

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!
