Hey guys...no one is up yet????

Okay, I might as well start this off. Between all the holiday parties and my son being off school and work being really busy, I'm amazed I got ANY workouts in! I think it all caught up to me by the end of the week though when I got this stomach virus/headache thing...blah...

Monday: S&H Chest/Back

Tuesday: S&H Shoulders/Triceps & Abs

Wednesday: Rest Day

Thursday: S&H Legs/Abs

Friday: Rhythmic Step

Saturday: Feeling lousy...stomach pains/headache...took a FORCED rest day.

Sunday: Still unsure as to whether to push myself or not. Feeling better but definitely not 100%. May do Power Hour however (I'm such a glutton for punishment!)

Have a good New Year's everyone!

Terri

Hi all!

Terri, thanks for starting us off! Sorry to hear you are under the weather. Hope you bounce back real quick. My niece's hubby came with a flu virus to our house on Christmas Day and within 24 hours, my hubby, son-in-law & MIL all had it. My hubby was in bed for 24 hours (NEVER happens to him), my son-in-law passed out twice and my MIL was hospitalized, so needless to say, it's a doozey of a virus!! Thankfully, the rest of us, including Kennedy, were able to stay healthy. I've got the cleanest hands in town because I wash them everytime I think of it! :7 Stay healthy everyone!!

Here's my week which I started on Sunday (my normal rest day) because I had a PLANNED rest day for Christmas Day! I sure wouldn't call it a REST DAY as it was quite busy, but no workout!

SUNDAY~PS-CHEST, SHOULDERS & TRICEPS

MONDAY~CTX-Step'n'Intervals, cardio only due to lack of time & company

TUESDAY~Merry Christmas!!!

WEDNESDAY~PS-BACK, BICEPS & ABS, Spin with Jay

THURSDAY~PS-Strong LEGS & ABS, practiced Hi/Lo routines for new session, then went for a practice with instructors

FRIDAY~CardioKicks-haven't done this one in a looong time! LOVE it! Oooooh, was I ever sore the next day, butt cheeks and upper back!! :-wow

SATURDAY~MIS & IMax!! Talk about a workout! Couldn't get into the shower fast enuf!!

SUNDAY~REST!! Awwwwww!

I am off classes for the next couple of weeks so I plan to do lots of vids in-between practicing for the new session. Have a safe, HAPPY & HEALTHY New Year everyone!!!

RE: Hi all!

Well, my week looks fair. I just figured out that I've loafing so much that I am not going to make my commitment of 280 workouts this year but oh well. I am keeping that workouts to about 30 minutes because I have lost some endurance with my back problems. Some days my back feels very good and others not so good. So I'm not sure if it's better or what. I am still not lifting any weights and keeping the workouts semi low impact. We had a busy and wonderful Christmas and got lots of good stuff. I have been playing with my son's toys. LOL!!

MONDAY: Nothing

TUESDAY: Nothing

WEDNESDAY: 2-mile walk

THURSDAY: Still Steppin' 30 minutes

FRIDAY: Stepping Zone 30 minutes

SATURDAY: Advanced Step 30 minutes

I may do a stretch tape today since my back seems to feel better warmed up and stretched. It's just hard to keep it that way ALL day long!

Have a great week and talk to ya next year!!!!!!

Oh, Terri--it was hard to get up this morning. It's so cloudy here in Colorado (a rare occurrence in this state) that I thought it was still dark out at 7:30a.

Had a cold this week, but managed to crawl into bed and sleep it off fairly quickly. The lack of activity was getting to me by Saturday, though (twitches and spasms here and there). If I'd been smart, I would've gotten out my yoga videos. :-rollen

SUNDAY--swim drills (was supposed to have a personal training session, but had the killer snowshoeing workshop the day before--personal trainer took one look at me slunking across the gym and said, "What happened?" So, we're rescheduled for today. She is so nice! :-cool)
MONDAY--snowshoeing, 3 miles
TUESDAY--Merry Christmas!
WEDNESDAY--in bed with cold
THURSDAY--mall walk, moderate pace
FRIDAY--nada
SATURDAY--swim drills

No kid contact for two weeks, so I'm guessing I got the cold off a cardio machine at the gym. Yet another reason to exercise at home with videos! ;-) Have a Happy New Year! Go Buffs!

LAST EDITED ON Dec-30-01 AT 05:16PM (Est)[p]A belated Merry Christmas to you all! I went to Pennsylvania for a week (brrr!), and ate so badly, but had such a wonderful time! Unfortunately, I had way too much to do to prepare for the trip last week, and I was sick the whole week I was in PA, so my workouts were pretty darn rare! I'm forgiving myself, and now that I'm back I've started to regain some normalcy!

Week one: (preparations, traveling, holiday commitments...)

MONDAY: Happy Hour Hi-Lo, including abs
FRIDAY: Kari Anderson Tone It UP, + 50 walking lunges, 16 push-ups, and abs from KB and All Step

That's it!

Week 2: (SICK, traveling, away from home with nowhere to workout)

FRIDAY: HiLo heaven section I, CTX bis, PH back, superman, and planks

SATURDAY: Happy Hour HiLo, CTX shoulders, KB stretch

SUNDAY: Step works warmup
BodyMax step circuits
Pmax section I
CTX tris and chest
Power Circuit abs
Power Hour abs and stretch, + my own extra stretches

It's amazing what you can lose in such a short time-- I was sweating more with my Christi's than I ever have!!! And my bis and back muscles were killing me yesterday. It feels so good to be back home with my videos...

Have a great week, everyone!
Wendy

LAST EDITED ON Dec-30-01 AT 09:43PM (Est)[p]I only did MIS!!! That was all I did during the whole week!!!

Edit......Today, Sunday, I was doing some scrapbooking and just quit right in the middle of it and did Rhythmic step. I did a lot of...'no, Cathe, slow down, I don't have it yets' but I had a lot of fun too. Felt good.

This is the beginning of a new week and I will do better ....I love to work out...both weights and aerobics......I just let other fun things take over. I even got some stall mats for Christmas to work out on so that should give me some incentive to get jumping. :D

Even you who were sick and sore got more workouts in than me! Hope you are all up to par soon. :)

Talk to you soon, Kelly. I'm going to need that weight loss checkin. We are going to South America Jan 11 for 3 weeks and I bet the food there is good! :9

Happy New Year from cold Southern Ontario. http://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Smilies_klein/krank.gif[/img] Not much snow though.

(I should be ashamed to be using this symbol after this week ;-))

Susan,

I hope you have a great time in South America. My dad went there several years ago and enjoyed it up until he fell and cracked his head. He went on a mission's trip and was laying brick. The high humidity didn't let the mortar set up fast enough and the wall fell on him and he fell 2 or 3 stories
(something close to that) and fractured his skull and his jaw in two places, twisted his knee and hip. He had to ride to the hospital on top of a fire truck. We were ready to go to pick him up at the airport and got a phone call that he had been in the hospital since that Thursday (it was now Saturday) and had been unconscious until Saturday. They thought he had broken his neck. Anyway, it was a long recovery and very scary for all of us.

So, stay away from anyone laying brick and you should have a good time. Have you been there before? Daddy lost weight on his trip but hopefully you will get to enjoy some different food than he ate!

Hi Kelly....Funny....this is a mission trip too! :)

We are going to Peru, Paraguay and Brazil for a week in each place to look after missionary kids (5-12 yrs), while their parents are attending a conference.

We have never been that far south before, so it will be a brand new and exciting experience. My husband and I both love kids (he was an elementary teacher for years) and we will get to do some sight seeing and shopping and meet a lot of interesting people while we are at it.

What an awful experience your Dad had! I'm so glad he recovered to tell the tale. I will try to stay away from anyone who even looks like he's even thinking of laying bricks. ;-)

We do have to be careful of the water....even being told to brush our teeth with bottled water. The other couple we are working with know the ropes better than we do (they were missionaries down there for a time) so we have someone handy to give us guidance.

I had better get out some summer clothes and get packing soon....January 11 is coming up really fast!

This may sound very grinch like, but I am ready for the end of the winter holidays. Jumped the gun a little & started 3 weeks of Slow & Heavy on Christmas Eve. There's still a lot of empty calories in the house - if I can't freeze it, I think it's going in the trash!

Mon: S&H C&B (turbo clean the house too)
Tue: Christmas! Urban hike w/ DH & dogs (7 miles)
Wed: Trot 35 min w/ dogs; S&H L&S; Tracy Long floor work tape; Tamilee Beg Stretch (this does look insane, but I decided to make it an at home play day)
Thur: Cycle 20.5 hilly miles; Balance Ball workout
Fri: trot 30 min w/ dogs; S&H T,B&Abs
Sat: Kathy Smith Kickbox; GWW floorwork (legs)
Sun: Cycle 47 miles w/ DH; Millenium Stretch

Registered for a century (100 mile bike ride) in 10 weeks so it's time to start training seriously. Felt like a wienie today but it turns out we increased our avg speed compared to last week. Still lots to work on.

Andrea, if you read the check-in, I think I was in your "neighborhood" before Christmas - Death Valley. It was quite beautiful. Loved hiking the canyons (most of the time). Came in thru Baker but headed west on the return. Wow - what a view of Mt. Whitney & the eastern Sierra's!

Have a Happy New Year everyone!
Debra

Hi Andrea

We stopped at Scotty's castle for the restrooms on our way to the craters but didn't take the tour. Walking on the volcanic soil is tough! Followed up with the sand dunes at sunset.

Bet you're expecting a wave of new students this week!

RE: Happy New Year checkin

I'm sure hoping!

When I practice I keep imagining my same students. I had a new one at the last class and I got so nervous! So, I try to pretend there are other people too, so I can focus!

You must have walked your feet off!

Andrea

RE: Happy New Year checkin

Have a Happy New year, little gal! We must try to get together soon....it looks like snow will not be a concern if the weather man cooperates the way he has been. What is your doggie doing now that it's cold out? Has he given up walking outside? http://plaudersmilies.de/sad/smhair1.gif This is the expression on your dog's face when he sticks his nose outside...."Mom, it's COLD!!!!"

RE: HA HA HA HA HA HA !!!!!

Oh Wow HB!! You hit the nail on the head with that one!! I'm having a hard time making her go outside to go pee! She just looks at me like, " Come on, can't you train me to just use the toliet?" As soon as she's done she run back for the door! I can't say too much though. As you see, I've went back to my tapes. Thanks to you, I'm still doing the morning routine. I always wondered how you did it, but you were definitley right. It becomes a wonderful habit.
I'd love to get together again! Let's all put our heads together and figure out a time we can do it. Sound good?
Ok, Have a wonderful and Happy New Year!!!

Aimee
