TUES: PS CST and SNI

WED: PS SLA

THRUS: PS BBA and Bodymax (cardio only)

FRI: PS CST, Intense Moves, CTX All Step, and Crunch Joy of Yoga

Aimee, I'm sitting here at 11:00 o'clock at night waiting for some clothes to dry. I don't usually stay up this late but I am trying to get ready for vacation next week. Yeaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! We are going to the beach (Gulf Shores, Alabama). I am sooo ready for a vacation but I will keep up some of my workouts. I will do a lot of walking, some tennis and I will take a few dumbells and maybe some hi/lo tapes. Anyway here is my week:

MONDAY: Hi/Lo Heaven (1 and 2)

TUESDAY: Unplanned rest. Actually was my weight day but I really didn't want to do weights today so I waited until it was too late to do weights.

WEDNESDAY: Step Heaven (1 and 2)

THURSDAY: MIS

FRIDAY: 3 hours of yardwork. Again, trying to get ready for vacation. Cutting grass, weedeating, car washing, etc...

SATURDAY: MIS

Fair week for me. Life has just been too busy for the past 2 weeks. I will definitely take advantage of this vacation and besides all the beach stuff I want to do some scrapbooking. I have boxes and boxes of pictures that need some attention.

Hope all you mothers have a wonderful day tomorrow. I told my 2-year-old that he didn't have to get me anything and he said okay. LOL

Have a great week everyone!!!!

Kelly

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Hi Everyone! Ths sun is shining here in Ohio. A nice change from yesterday's cold, windy & dreary day!

Aimee~How was your omelette? I love the PS series. I started doing it twice a week shortly after I received them but life got in the way so I had to cut back to once a week with a total body once a week to get my body parts in twice/week. As a matter of fact, I just started that rotation last week. Love, Love, Love that series. Can't wait for the Push-Pull series.

My week:

Monday~PS-LEGS & ABS, 32 Step-ups & 32 Step-downs each leg (holding 10 lb. dumbbells), went outside to jog for 15 minutes and ran into a new neighbor! Her name is Cathe! (Doubt she spells it that way!) So I only ran 2 1/2 laps around the track and walked 3 telling her all about my Cathe tapes. She is interested in getting started with weight work. Nice gal! Taught a Hi/Lo class in the afternoon.

Tuesday~Taught a Hi/Lo class in the morning, PS-SHOULDERS & BICEPS in the PM

Wednesday~PS-CHEST, TRICEPS, 32 Step-ups & downs with each leg, 5 minutes on AB Roller, Treadmill 22 minutes of jogging, power drills from CardioKicks, I spent the night with my daughter so I used their treadmill to jog and I took along my CardioKicks tape because she doesn't have a lot of room to workout. Whew, I was one "Sweaty Betty" after those drills!

Thursday~Taught 2 Hi/Lo classes, PS-BACK, lower back work from BB&A's

Friday~IMax!!, 5 minutes of ABS on Balance Ball

Saturday~MIS, added on my 2 sets of Step-ups and downs, ABS from MIS, 45 minute Spin with Jay's Precision Cycling, talk about being a wet noodle! Whew! :-tired, I wasn't in the mood to spin but once I got going, it was fun. I LOVE his team intervals!

I just need to share that I have gotten back to using my normal weights for upper body & it feels soooo good! Thanks you all for all your support & encouragement along the way.

Sunday! REST! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all you VERY special Mom's out there. (Dad's too ;-))I need to scoot here. We are headed to church and then right up to Jacob's Field for an INDIAN'S game-WaHooooo! All Mom's receive a free Indian's umbrella today. Doesn't look like we will need to use it though. Happy week everyone!

RE: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Hi Debbie! The omlette was great! However, my DH overslept and my 12 yr old daughter and her best friend (with the help of my 8 yr old daughter) heard me talking last night and they made it for me! It was actually pretty good:)! My son overslept too. Must be a man thing! Anyway, the kids did a good job and it's been a wonderful morning! Hope you have a great one too!! GO INDIANS!!!!!!

Aimee

Late night cake baking and laundry!! You wild women!! lol. just kidding!! I was taking my online computer class at that same time! I have become such a bore in my old age! hehee!
Hey Debbie!!.........GO INDIANS!! I hope you have a wonderful day out there. Check the scoreboard for my O's.....they play the Yanks again and after 6 straight losses to those guys I just KNOW they will win today!!(yeah right!) :) Are the players handing out flowers to all the moms in attendance....the O's do that when they are home.
Everyone's week looks really great.......I cant say enough about how much you gals impress me.
My week was good except that I strained my lower back....I think...whatever it was the dull aching feeling I had back there radiated thru my left groin and down my left leg. Had me worried but of course I still worked out under the influence of tylenol. It's alot better now and I am still not sure what I did. My week:
Monday -- Bodymax
Tues. -- Rollerblading
Wed. -- 35 min on climber with upper body weights, abs using a ball!! god did i get sore!!! lol
Thurs. -- nada
Fri -- didnt feel like driving to fitness center so I did IMAX
Sat. -- squeezed in a lower body weight workout, abs...NO BALL!! :)
Sun. -- nada
Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there. And a happy, wonderful, week to ALL you wonderful fitness pals!
Oh...and Murph....I'm glad I "made" your Tuesday night for ya! :)

Baseball

I had to read your posts to my boyfriend...
His ideal woman would be one who loves baseball!
(not me, i am just happy that he loves it)

(and i am sure he would like you too Trevor)

I am going to do my first PS tape today... legs .

Has anyone read the rotation suggested for the "lower body solution"?
tons of cathe tapes and two firm tapes.....
But
this rotation works out the lower body almost every day..a bit lighter to go after fat.......but how can it be light with lots of cathe?

I should post the site i saw this on ...But i have to wait till i get to my own computer.

Hi, Debbie suggested I post to this, so this is my first time. You all sound like you know each other pretty well! A good group of folks. My week should be busy, too. I'm on week three of a four-week rotation focusing on CXT (but this week I'm shaking things up by doing a couple PS workouts so I can test out that new DVD). Here's my plan
MONDAY - Step Jam (am); PS-BB, Leaner Legs Abs only (after work)
TUESDAY - Interval Max (am); Leaner Legs (yes, I know - a LOT but I'll do LL after work)
WEDNESDAY - Cardio Kicks (am); Body Max Upper Body strength work, All Step abs section (after work)
THURSDAY - Power Max (am); J. Kries precision toning (after work).
FRIDAY - OFF
SATURDAY - either IMAX or a mix of MIC high/lo & first section of Step Works (I'm in the learning mode for SW),PS-Legs (standing), Cardio Kicks Abs section
SUNDAY - Step Fit, CXT-Chest, Shoulders, Triceps; In the afternoon, Jennifer Kries precision toning.
I want to add more hi/lo into my workouts, but I'm reluctant to try Christi's tapes because of her choreography. How does she compare w/Cathe? Have a good week everyone

Hi all! It feels so good to "feel good"....Ya know how when you've been sick for awhile and then you start to feel better, you feel as though God has blessed you or something!!! Well, after that colonoscopy I had last week, I'm finally back to eating somewhat normal meals once again and starting to get back my energy. I'm still awaiting the results of the biopsies the doctor took, but I'm just so happy to feel a bit better....

Anyway...

Aimee: Don't you just LOVE Crunch Joy of Yoga? I only started doing it this past week and I *LOVE* it!!!

Kelly: Have a great vacation!

Debbie: So glad to hear you're able to do your upper body weight work once again!

Trevor: Hope your back is better!

Suzanna: Welcome to our "check-in"! And don't ask me about the Christi tapes....I've tried one or two of her step tapes, and I'm way too SPASTIC to get her moves down! I end up feeling like throwing the whole VCR out the window, I get so frustrated!

Okay, enough yapping...here's my week:

Monday: Colonoscopy (obviously did NOTHING!)

Tuesday: Still nothing, feeling wiped out and exhausted.

Wednesday: STILL nothing. But did finally go back to work.

Thursday: CTX Chest/CTX Shoulders/Abs/Crunch Joy of Yoga

Friday: CTX Biceps/CTX All Step Cardio/Abs

Saturday: CTX Triceps/CTX Back/Plank & Abs/Ali McGraw Yoga

Sunday: Went out for a huge breakfast with my son and husband. Ate some yummy french toast drenched in syrup....THAT was my workout!

Have a great week, everyone!

Terri

Happy Mothers Day!

LAST EDITED ON May-13-01 AT 02:54PM (Est)[p]Hope this is a special day for all the Mom's & Grandmothers-in-waiting!

Debbie H. - glad your elbow is doing well. Keep babying it.
Trevor - take care, actually thought you were injury immune.
Suzanne - Welcome!
Terri - looks like things went well based upon your post-surgery activity. Take it easy.

I saw a physical therapist about my knee this week. My Dr. said the knee cap didn't "track" right because of a muscle inbalance. The PT had a different take, equally confident, but hers makes more sense to me. She thinks my muscles "shut down" because of trauma like a sprain. She found the leg muscles were balanced, between both legs as well as opposing muscles in the injured leg. We talked about my training approach, etc. She said I didn't need PT & it was apparent that my training routine was quite effective. So I've got the green light for all activities :-jumpy if I gradually ramp up intensity.

Mon: PS Legs; Row 25 min; upperbody weights; abs w/ husband
Tues: Cycle 15 miles (flat but windy - felt like I was pulling a sled)
Wed: Spin; GWW floorwork (legs); Stott int. matwork
Thurs: Abs w/ husband
Fri: Cycle 22 miles (flat); upperbody weights
Sat: Cycle 46 miles (hilly) then abs w/ husband (not my idea!)
Sun: Millenium Stretch

More news, the CBS morning show is going to film my spinning class. Becky Tirabassi, a motivational speaker/author is one of the regulars & she's been doing health segments for CBS & they are going to film her workouts.

Have a great week everyone!
Debra

Hi everyone, I am glad to say that I was probably sleeping at 10:30 not baking a cake or doing laundry! I know those kind of nights though.

Aimee - Thanks for getting the check-in going. I am going to start a Max rotation maybe next week too. How many weeks do you do it? Have you done it before and what results do you see? Great week!

Kelly - Have a great vacation. It seems you have to spend a week getting ready to go and when you get back another week to get everything back in place. Wouldn't pass up a vacation though.

Debbie - Hope you had fun at the game. Another awesome week and trying to recruit a new Cathe fan too! My husband just bought a balance ball for back exercises and he said there are ab exercised too. Do you have a tape or do you just use the sheet that came with it? I am always open to new ab exercises.

Trevor - Hope the back ache is just temporary. My husband has been fighting cronic problems for a long time and lately ever more.

Andrea - I read your post and great week.

Suzanna - welcome. It is fun to see what everyone is doing and the support is great.

Debra - Man, you put in a lot of miles biking. Great week.

I have been having a lot of upper arm pain for about six months and my husband suggested I talk to his chiropractor and I am glad I did. Back in October I really strained my right arm cleaning the carpets and also setting my dumbbell down too fast and it hasn't felt the same since. I really was starting to notice a difference in the way I was lifting that arm because of the pain. Anyway, the chiropractor said I have a couple of weak shoulder muscles that are also inflamed. I need to do some stretching and strengthening in that arm targeting those muscles with simple exercises and applying ice afterwards. Never thought a one pound weight would feel so heavy. Of course he adjusted my neck and back. Hopefully, in a few weeks it will be better.

Sorry for yacking. My week was pretty intense. Still trying to shake things up a bit and lose those pounds. The margarita my husband just handed me won't help though.(one a week shouldn;t hurt)

Monday - Bodymax
Tuesday - Stepworks with abs from Step Heat
Wednesday - PSBBA with cardio from Step and Intervals
Thursday - PSCST with a 70 min Cathe treadmill workout
Friday - PS LA
Saturtday - Interval Max with abs from Step Heat
Sunday - Was going to rest but went for a walk with the family and dog. About an hour and it was fun. Doesn't happen very often when everyone wants or is able to go.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day

Lynn

Always glad to see your posts, Trevor!

I saw both kids today, but we keep the Mother's Day stuff to a bare minimum. They were raised that it's no big deal, largely a Hallmark holiday laden with guilt. I actually bought kid #1(the oldest) dinner myself.

My week, then next week is a REST week. Six weeks on, one off.

Sunday: Bodymax, the WHOLE THING all at once, not rest between sections, with extra leg work thrown in - Step ups and one legged squats.

Monday: Walk at the Y

Tues.: Rest

Wed. Imax

Thurs. Leaner Meaner legs tape. I've been using lighter weights, and I think I see an improvement, which is very exciting.

Friday: Mowed a lawn with hills and high grass with a mower propelled only with my push power. Then walked 20 minutes, and did the upper body portion of MIS.

I'm really looking forward to the new weight tapes! I need a change.

I plan to have a good rest this week and sleep till 6:00am every morning!

Anyone interested in a good chicken recipe? "Oven fried pecan cornmeal chicken." :9 I have a good potato recipe, too.

Both easy of course.

Hi, everyone...

Happy Mother's day to all-my only "son" :-rollen Echo, the horse, launched me today, but good--and now I have a bruised tailbone to show for it! (I spoke too soon in another forum last night!)

Anyhow this past week has been okay; I'm more concerned about what I'll be able to to do this upcoming week!!

G Force Ultimate Step
Voight Core Essentials
Cathe Mega Step
Firm Abs-Hips-Thighs
Reebok Intense Moves* all the way thru--no modifications
Firm CompleteWorkout
Voight Smooth Moves

Murph
**I am into laundry and cleaning and baking (sometimes working out) at midnight...sure can relate to that!! Trevor, what did the "kids" get Mom for Mother's Day??!! DebH: I'm sure you and Mom-to be had a great one. HB: I may join you in a rest week....

HB: Post that Recipe!!

Maybe in a different thread. BUT: I want that oven fried pecan chicken recipe!!! Murph

Hey Suzanna,

I consider myself to be less than graceful and not very quick at learning choreography. I LOVE Christi. It does take a while but if you will stick with it and take it one bit at a time it's not that bad. Cathe would definitely be easier as far as the choreography goes. Christi really does shine with Hi/Lo! You should at least give it a try! :)

Kelly

Hi guys!

Happy Mother's Day, though I do think it is way too commercialized (as are most holidays), and EVERY day should be special for moms and everyone (that's what I tell my kids at school :) )
Here is the 4th week of my knee recovery week, and I will admit in advance that I cheated and added back in some jumps and hops, and even did some step ups on my stool--all with no pain! Probably pushing it, but I just couldn't help myself!...

MONDAY: MIS wu +CTX Back and BIs + Buns of Steel/Kathy Smith/PS/tubes leg combo (no squats or lunges involved)

TUESDAY: am: PS CST wu+ CTX Chest, shoulders, and tris
pm: 45 minutes Stepworks ( :-jumpy )

WEDNESDAY: 30 minutes of LEGS
THURSDAY: ALL STEP and SNI cardio (no intervals) +Stepworks cd and stretch
ABS: power circuit and All step, +KB stretch

FRIDAY: rest
SATURDAY: MIS wu +CTX upper body split
SUNDAY: 60 min LEGS (combo of LL, PS, B of S, Kathy Smith)

Ooops--only 2 cardio this week! I've been concentratin so much on weight work, that I keep putting it off...Now that my knee is feeling much better, I think I'll up it to four a week. I've been meaning to do three a week, but it just isn't very fun when I have to modify everything! We'll see how the week goes :)
Have a great one, all of you!
Wendy

Hi Terri!! Joy of Yoga is Great!! It's my 2nd facorite!! Ali MacGraw's is my top pick! I did them both yesterday:)!
Glad to hear you are feeling better! I'll be praying that your results come back good!

Aimee

Hi Lynn! I have done a MAX rotation before. Back in October, I think it was. I got great results doing it! My bodyfat and definately went down and my defination was great!! Since it's so high intesity, I am only staying on it for six weeks. It worked well for me last time though. Let me know what you think of it!!

Aimee

Max rotation

Thanks, Aimee
I'll let you know of my progress.I hope I can do it for six weeeks. Once it gets light early in the morning I tend to take the dog for a long walk for my exercise. I'll just have to put some jogging cycles in it .

Do you use the bodyfat scale to track your progress? I did buy one but my bodyfat hasn't really changed much.(about 17%) I think we have about the same goals to lose five pounds. I just wonder if five lbs will really change the bodyfat % much, I am 5'4 , small boned and about 119 now and would like to be between 112-115. Until lately, I stayed at that weight for the past 5-7 years. Hopefully, it is just gained muscle because my measurements are not that different either. How else do you track your progress? I do like to have evidence of progress and I think the scale can be discouraging in a way.

Well, the laundry, cleaning and gardening is calling me.

Good luck on your rotation!!

Lynn

RE: Max rotation

Hi Lynn! Yep, I've got a bodyfat scale too! Tanita. My bodyfat did go down on this rotation. I made the mistake of doing it BEFORE winter hit!! I always gain in the winter even though I keep on working out. I heard somewhere that if you lose 5 lbs of fat it can change your % by up to 2-3%. Depending on where you are to begin with. I also take my measurements bi weekly. and I do check my weight once a week. If you measurements haven't changed much, I'd bet money that what you've gained is muscle:)!
BTW, you're right. We do have the same goals! And judging from what you're telling me, probably near the same body type. I'm small, but a definate mesomorph! I'm starting mine next Mon. When did you say you were starting yours? Maybe we could email each other with our progess and keep each other motivated?
