cheat meals

do you all do weekly cheat meals? i've been trying to be less strict and do this but i still feel weird eating sinful foods. tonight i'm doing pizza:9 i also want to know what is your favorite cheat? mine is either pizza or a hamburger with fries

Every time I eat out, it's automatically a "cheat" meal. I still like to choose lighter fare, but I eat the bread, the potatoes, the sauces, whatever.

And I'm with Cody on the sushi! It's one of the things I simply can't resist, even though it's made with white rice. :9

Runnergirl, the white rice is really bad for me. It's a simple carb, which always brings on cravings, and causes me to eat a lot of ice cream and stuff. Otherwise, sushi is pretty healthy IMO.

I guess I could always just butter my toast up with wasabi! LOL. That's my favorite part of sushi. Oh I might add some tuna to that.;)

there is lots of healthy sushi out there that i love, but i also find it hard to resist some of the specialty rolls made around here. there's a place up the block from me that makes a "rose roll" which is lobster tempura with chopped mangoes and a mango/mayo sauce. i don't even want to guess the calorie count on it, but it is SO GOOD!

Have you all tried the brown rice sushi at Whole Foods? It is pricey like everything else in that store, but boy is it terrific!:9

Pizza
Chinese food(haven't had in a while)
hamburger and fries
fried chicken with all the fixings

I always have a cheat meal on friday night,I plan for it all week,LOL!

I've just realised how extremely high in sodium some sushi is...it's so yummy but I need to be more selective.

I guess we had a cheat meal tonight....cheeseburgers....so good! I don't plan my cheats...they just kinda happen;-)

Laurie:)

Laurie, sushi doesn't have to be high in sodium. Americans tend to submerge the rice side of the sushi in the soy sauce, but that's not the way the Japanese eat it. They dip only the fish side into the soy sauce, which is far less absorbent. In any event, if you use reduced-sodium soy sauce, and use the soy sauce judiciously, you won't eat too much sodium.

I don't do the concept of "cheat" meals (I don't like associating guilt with food). Most days I make the effort to eat healthfully so I don't spend too much time worrying about a treat.

Yep, I chrated this whole weekend. However I've decided to swear off cheeseburgers (I do the homemade ones) they make me feel so puffed. Also tacos are the things that can potentially keep me stuck at my current weight so I eat them about 1nce a month. There totally like chips I can't eat just 1.
