have any of you bought these workouts? its looks alot similiar to the sts series. how do you like these workouts if you have them and what results have you had? thanks

I only have CLX and I love it. I love the results (lifting heavier, more definition) and I also love that most workouts are about half an hour. The program comes with a great cookbook, a Kitchen makeover and a motivational CD (nothing particularly new, but it is always good to hear and a great motivation!!! You can leave it in your car!). I also like that Chalene goes around and talks about proper form. Others find this distracting. I love Chalene's energy...some don't. You get the idea.

I love Cathe and put her at the top of my list, but have lots of good things to say about CLX.

You will find lots of people here who love STS and also love ChaLean (one or the other AND both). You probably need to define your goals specifically and then we can help you decide which is for you.

You might want to do a search, too about CLX vs STS. There have been lots of discussions about both. Both are good for different reasons and appeal to many for different reasons, as welll!

Let us know what your specific questions/goals are and we can help from there!

Good luck!

I don't have STS, but I just got CLX and LOVE it so far. I've just started it and can tell it will be great. It's shorter workouts, which I need at the moment. And I'm sure it's not nearly as intense as STS, but it's a good workout. I want to eventually get STS, and I think CLX will help prepare my body/mind for STS.

CLX does take some getting used to. Chalene is great, but I like Cathe's techniques much better.

I have both. CLX is OK, but some of the moves really aggravated my sciatic nerve, so after 7 weeks of doing it, I switched and did STS all the way through. STS is far better IMO. CLX is fun and a good time-saver, but you cannot go near as heavy. If that is OK, get it.

I have CLX. Loved it the first time around when it was first released. Chalene Johnson is fun and the program will get you to lift heavy. It is full of combination moves(or compound) so you will be limited to how heavy you lift. Also, the workouts are short. If you are looking for short workouts this program will fit that bill.

I just finished 16 weeks of STS and tried to go back to CLX and couldn't.
It was too easy after completing a round of STS.

CLX is not as intense or thorough lifting program as STS. If you could buy only one system. STS is the better investment.

I think the problem is, we should not compare STS and CLX because they really are two different programs. I think I will use CLX again, and it will be good for me. I tried it too soon after having already aggravated my sciatic issues with running and a car accident. STS has made me really strong. I probably could handle CLX better now.

I did Push/Pull today after having finished STS last week. I upped all my weights a bunch, and really enjoyed lifting heavy on this work-out! STS has given me a mental edge as well as a muscular edge.

I wonder if CLX would be difficult for someone recovering from a knee injury? Are there tons of squats, lunges, and plyos?

I think the answer to that is yes. Every workout includes leg work. Now I will say that I had issues with one of my knees and doing the heavier weight work and strengthing the muscles around that knee does help. But there are a lot of compound movements in the first month that can be tough on your knees. HTH...

I'm glad I read this. I always figured I would buy CLX sometime, because I like to keep my workouts short. But I didn't realize it had lots of compound moves! With my lower back issues, I always wind up injuring myself when there are lots of compound moves. I need to concentrate on my form in order to avoid injury, which generally means one exercise at a time. Darn!!

I want to get more muscle definiton but dont want to spend more than an hr that includes warm up and cool down because of my busy schedule. I really want to focus on the upper body but want a good workout for the entire body as well but definition ,not bigger arms more lean. these workouts are a bit cheaper than cathe sts too. I also heard about that new sean t workouts but didnt see them on gthe beach body website yet.

i also have p90x and dont like all the pull ups so I use the workouts I like only and pop one in when I have time.

If you have back issues with compound moves this is definately not for your, some of the moves make my back hurt and I normally don't have back issues.

I saw CLX on ebay for $30 so I got it. I tried the interval training DVD and I could not keep up. For a fiddy yr old with knee issues, it was too fast for me. I ended up with a sore glute and a sore ankle.

I do alot of modifying and instead of doing Burn it up I do some other form of cardio.

I love the CLX cardios. Challenging but fun. ITA though that they can be hard on the knees. One of my knees started bothering me only a couple weeks into the rotation. I find that taking Glucosamine helps me though. Once I got myself on that (again-I am so bad about taking vitamins, etc.!), it got MUCH better. I once did Burn Intervals using the low impact modifiers but didn't feel the work out was nearly as effective that way. After that, if my knee was not able handle the impact I would sub in something else entirely.

I didn't care for the Intervals so I sub with Cathe's Imax and BodyStep. I also have Gin's that I can use for Intervals. I did cardio after each workout even on rest days usually The Firm because the Fanny Lifter workouts strengthens the hams, which balances outs the quad work. I add on Steph's Power Fit as well.

I didn't care for the relaxation so I add my Yoga workouts, one could use pilates as well for a great sub.

I did the CLX cardio last night and loved it. It was a GREAT workout. I thought it was easier on my knees because of the way she turns out her knees during the burpees and also the way she takes a wider stance during lunges. Just my opinion. I really enjoyed the endurance work during the "rests" too!
