Cereal recommendations

I was wondering if anyone had any cereal recommendations? I live in the UK, so I don't get all of the varieties of american cereals. But, I was wondering if grape nuts is a good choice? I don't like oatmeal except for the sugary packaged kind and am trying to reduce sugars from my diet. We used to get Kashi, but haven't seen it around for awhile. Some of the Nature's Path cereals are stocked here as well. Just as an aside, I am breastfeeding so trying to stay away from artificial ingredients. I would appreciate any suggestions! Thanks!

Hi Annie,

Do you get Kellogg's brand? If so, all bran is very good and high in fiber - 1/2 cup has 13-14 grams of fiber! I usually add a bit of splenda and some blueberries. It gets my day going right (if you get my drift :))

Also, have you tried adding things to oatmeal to liven it up a bit. I will add some splenda/soy milk/blueberries or bananas to mine. That is another option!

Have a great day in the UK!

Try steel-cut oats. They are like an oatmeal.
Post Shredded Wheat

Grape Nuts are a good choice as well.

P.S. I love visting your country - so beautiful!

Thanks for all those recommendations - I'll give them all a try and then find a rotation that works. Steel cut oats? not sure what they are exactly - but I'll see if I can find them!

Thanks again.

I like heating Grape Nuts in the microwave, especially in the Winter. Adding some raisins makes it yummy also.
