cellulite on thighs

Hi Cathe.
I recently noticed that I am getting cellulite on my thighs. I am 38 years old, and I exercise 3-4 times a week, usually spinning class. It's a great workout. I also try to do a lot of upper body weights 2-3 times a week. I don't really do any weight training for my lower body, since the spinning class is so intense. I just ordered the "Leaner Legs" video. Is this what I need to do? I really, really want to get rid of this stuff before it gets out of control. I'm not fat, I wear a size 6, but this cellulite on my thighs is gross, and I want to do whatever I need to do to get it off of me.
Thanks so much!

I'm obviously not Cathe but copied this Q&A from Karen Voight's archive column. From reading Karen's answer, Leaner Legs and Water is part of the solution.

Is there any way to get rid of cellulite? I have been drinking between ten to 12 glasses of water a day and do 90 minutes of aerobics and weight training twice a week. Are there any floor exercises that will help?

dear too many bumps,
Cellulite is bumpy fat, and you are already doing the important things to reduce it. Drinking lots of water, along with aerobic and weight training, is essential to losing fat. Also, remember to watch your sodium intake and cut down on drinking alcohol.

Cellulite tends to come with genetics and age. While you can reduce the amount on your body, you may never completely get rid of it. If you gain weight, it will reappear. Continue to do what you're doing and don't get too obsessed. In time, you will see results!

Take care,
