Coach Sean responded to our request for a challenge and all I can say is, I hope you're feeling spunky!! :eek:

For Press Play group, how's this.. We did this in spin class this AM. Challenge 2 from Volume 8 instrumental with a twist: two sets of 8 min with a 20/40 split. :20 sec level 4 attack with :40 sec recovery - 2 min break - repeat.

Good Lord! I have enough trouble getting through CCPP. Oh well, it's supposed to rain tomorrow and DH is working, so what else do I have to do besides sweat with the rest of you....
 
Man - I am going to have to THINK on top of working???! OK - sounds fun anyway. I wanted to do my bike though and that will be hard with the timer. Any thoughts on that? I will look forward to it tomorrow :) Oh, and now I think he has sold a set of the instrumentals...

Banana, Volume 8 wasn't included in that set -- it was Volumes 1 - 5. Do you have one of those Gym Boss doodads? You can use that to time the intervals.

ETA that I'm doing it on my elliptical so I won't have any trouble timing it. Maybe you can do most of PP on your bike and then switch to your elliptical for the V8 challenge.

Thanks, Michele - no, I don't have one of those. Wonder if Academy has them? I will look. I finally got an old watch with a stopwatch to work so if all else fails, I now have that, as long as it keeps going.

Thanks, also, for pointing us to that awesome pic of Coach Sean...ahem...I'll take that! When I am so tired but keep pushing, that is what I like to picture when doing the workouts - him, looking something like that, right there with me. Just makes me go faster ;)

About the instrumentals - is that the 10 cd set that comes with coaching cds too?

Hey, where are you going to put the bonus track? I have it as the last challenge on my playlist but I'm thinking about moving it up. I'm worried I'll be too tired to do it at the end, and I REALLY want to do it!!

Oy vey!! Who had the idea to ask Sean for the additional challenge :eek:? I am coming to your house too :p:D:D

I have been doing something similar with that challenge the last few times I did volume 8 and it is a KILLER!!! I better eat my wheaties if I want to make it through Press Play AND the challenge :confused:

DS will be doing the workout with me tomorrow, good thing I won't hear him complain with my headphones on :p
 
Carola, will you save the bonus challenge for last or will you move it up in the workout? I'm thinking about moving it up. I always put the bonus on at the end and I'm beginning to question the wisdom of that.

LOL about not hearing your DS complain during the workout!!! :p :D
 
Whew!

Hey everybody,

I did CCPP with the added Vol. 8 challenge this afternoon on my elliptical since I can't do it tomorrow (STS 23 on tap). WOW, what a workout!!! :eek: With a 5-minute added cooldown I was on my elliptical for 85 minutes, 11,900 strides (that converts to about 5.3 miles) and 875 calories. I'll take that for today! :)

That instrumental music from Volume 8 was unbelievably motivating even though by that point in the workout I was feeling pretty darn toasted.

I finished it off with a long stretch and I'm headed for a hot shower and a glass of wine! ;)

Michele - I always put them on the end. You are thinking though - we will be tired! I will put it at the end anyway b/c I am lazy and have never learned how to do a playlist! :)

I wonder why, if he has the vol 8 instrumental, he wouldn't release it? I would pay for the download of all intrumentals, happily. Would rather that anyway than having copies of what I already have. I thought it was just buying the instrumentals on discs. Since you seem to have a direct line into that man's very handsome ear, why don't you ask about that? Pretty please :p
 
Well, I'm looking at this playlist and I'm wondering if there's a steady state (or other recovery) between CH 5 of PP and the added instrumental challenge. lol AND MAN! That added challenge is almost 19 minutes LONG? GEESH! :p

Ah.. you can do it!!! I have complete confidence in you!! :D

Sean didn't give us one so I added a SS in between CH 5 and the instrumental. I'm using one of the steady state tracks from volume 8. ;)

LOL!!! Well, I wouldn't say that I have a direct line into his handsome ear, but I'll be happy to ask him about downloads of the instrumental versions.

As for the coached versions of the CD's -- I gave those to my sister. At less than $4 a CD, they made a GREAT and inexpensive gift ;)!! I just bought jewel cases for hers and kept the case with his lovely picture for myself. :p :D
