Hey Cathe, I was wondering today while I was working out if Friedrick is your maiden name or if its your husbands name. The reason I ask is cause I didn't know if your career started before or after you were married.:)

Hi mmnn!

Hi there -- I'm not Cathe (although I am a Kathy :)) but I can answer this one for you. Friedrich is Cathe's maiden name. She has said that she uses her married name socially. Cathe's career began when she was very young (in her teens, believe it or not!). She and Jon were married... ohmigosh, I hope I am remembering this correctly... in July 1995 (CATH -- am I off by a year? I'm so sorry if I am!)

Have you ever seen Cathe's wedding tape? There are video snippets from her wedding day -- she was (of course) a gorgeous bride, the wedding looked beautiful and so fun, and Cathe's groom was (and is) one handsome fella! And now they have two more handsome little guys running around!

I believe Cathe got married in 1996 . . .
I only remembered this because that's the same year my son was born.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

:)

Hi CynDaVaz!

Thanks -- I was trying to calculate this and you may be right (maybe Cathe will correct us at some point when she checks in :)) -- I know the wedding tape came out in the spring of 1996 (I think) because I'm pretty sure I bought it in the summer of 1996 when it was new. I was thinking Cathe was married in July, so I deduced :) that she must have been married the summer before.

Then again, I have so many middle-age moments these days that I could be totally off by a year or two! ;-)

RE: Hi CynDaVaz!

Hi there! Taking a quick break and checking in. Thought I would just chime in and say that I was married July of 1995. Great memory Kathy and great guess Cyndavaz. If you live anywhere in the North East area, you may remember that that was actually the year/week of a huge heat wave and it was 105 plus degrees in Jersey that day. I was ever so happily melting away :)

Cathe re: heat wave

Your story gave me a chuckle because we experienced the opposite. I was married 10 years before you (because I am OLD!!! :)) in January of 1985. Everybody told us we were nuts to plan a wedding in January, but that was when the venue we really wanted was available and I'd always for some reason wanted a winter wedding. So we booked it, and figured what the heck, how cold could it be -- this is Georgia, for heaven's sake!

Well, it was 9 degrees and blowing like a hurricane the weekend of our wedding -- the coldest three-day stretch in a century and a record that still stands! I remember being dropped off from the car in front of the place where we were having our rehearsal dinner. I got out of the car bundled up from the tip of my head to my calves like an Eskimo -- and from my calves to my tippy toes, I had on nylons and strappy sandals!! I only had to walk about 30 feet to the door of the building but I thought I had gotten frostbite in my toes for sure (ruining a LOVELY pedicure!), and I remember clearly thinking, "Why do women do this to themselves???" :)

It all turned out just fine, as you all now know -- but I was happily FREEZING away! :)

RE: Cathe re: heat wave

Hey Kathy -
I got married in January, too, this past January as a matter of fact - in Michigan no less! It was a clear and bright sunny day...and 20 degrees. Yes, cold but it was so lovely, with a few little snowflakes dancing in the air. Even better, there was an ice show on display that weekend nearby and those sculptures looked like crystal. So you never know with weather. Winter really can be so beautiful for a wedding! Diana
