Cathe, will I lose cardio capacity while resting my knees?

Cathe, my knees have been acting up and I've had to drastically modify my aerobics. I'm getting better but I'm going crazy because I can't do high intensity aerobics.

Will I lose my cardio endurance and gains?

Today I did C&W but gently rebounded on the rebounder for the cardio and I have to give up step for a while.

I'm still practicing my yoga pain free and doing upper body work but not standing leg work.

Thanks.

Hi Jazz! I'm sorry to hear your knees are feeling achey. I know how you feel when you say you are going crazy. Having to modify for injuries is good for our bodies but a hard one for our minds to digest :)

You will be fine since you are still able to remain active in other ways. Sure, you will eventually lose some cardio gains, but it is only temporary. Once you ease back after some time off, your body will huff and puff a bit but only for about a week or two. Then it will be just like the old days. A little rest can go a long way too. Don't be surprised if when you get back on track (after you have eased back in) that you are stronger then before.

For now, take advantage of this time and enjoy other activities which perhaps you never had time to fit in your schedule.

It also really helps to be sure you are eating well so that you don't develop any guilt from over eating and wanting to do cardio that you should not be doing at this time to burn it off. Just a suggestion :)

Good Luck!

Thanks Cathe.:)

I hope you are healing too.

I pre-ordered all the new ones and I want to be back to my old self when they come out.:)
