Cathlete
I have been doing nothing but Cathe's posted rotatons for a few years. I ran last summer (3/4 miles 3x week + Cathe) but it got too hot for this Irish-American gal so I went back to just Cathe for cardio & weights. Then I got a job as a Flight Attendant last December. I have been working out only 3 to 4 days a week for the past 3 months. Too tired to even think straight on my days off. It has been a struggle to have any energy at all. (We do haul around 270# carts in a very punishing enviroment.)
Anyway. I am getting laid off in a week and I plan to start running again and when Cathes STS series is out add that weight work in as well.
I also found out I have some precancerous cells (cervical) that need to come out. I'm having laser surgery April 18th.
What running program would you recommend? Couch to 5K? Runners World?
Colleen in Minneapolis:)

Colleen,

I'm sorry you are getting laid off and having to deal with laser surgery for your cervical precancerous cells. That is a lot to deal with at one time. IMHO, I would start with Couch to 5K. It will gradually get your body used to running again.

Best wishes for a quick recovery from your surgery,

Thanks Kristi and Cathy, Sometimes I know i know the answer but it feels so lonely in the fitness journey that getting a reality check with you gals really helps.
I started today with just 15 min of running (Runners World beginners) and I'll do that rotation. It felt so good to be outside again. The ice is still on the lake but the birds are back and the sun felt soo good. (with sun block on of coarse). I've been just doing Tracy Longs TLP's this past week I've been so low on energy. I call them my recovery workouts.
I can't wait to build up my running in April and then add on the new Cathe's.
You all are wonderful. I'm off to bed. I have to get up at 4am. That's a late start.
Much love to you all.
Colleen

Sorry to hear about your pre-cancerous cells and that you are being laid off Colleen. I had a uterine ablation last year and am doing great now. Hopefully you will do as well. Will send prayers your way.

Where do you see the list of Cathe’s workouts, as I might like to see the rotation and give it a try? Someone also said (in another forum) that Cathe is going to do a heavy bag workout. Where does everyone find all of this information from? I am fairly new to all of these forums (and not sure that I understand all of them yet). But I have been doing Cathe’s workouts for a while. I would like to know where to go to keep up with all of the new “going on’s” around here.
Thank-you
Abbygail

I cannot wait till I get the STS workout! I am psyched!

Abbygail,

The easiest way to see what Cathe workouts are available is to go to the top of this page and click on "DVDs". They are listed from the most recent to the oldest. Regarding when others mention workouts that Cathe will be producing in the future, that info came from posts from Cathe. The one about the heavy bag workouts, which I really want, was from a post maybe 1-2 years ago. I'm sure someone will post the link for you. Sorry I have to get back to work or I would do it for you.

HI Abbygail. I'm gald you procedure went well. I have been following Cathe's posted rotations for the past few years. If I don't have the workouts she mentioned I just do my best with a substitution.
I am sooo out of shape from not working out regularly these past 4 months but we do the best we can right? Yesterday was my last day at work flying. I'll miss the great people I worked with but I'm kinda' glad to be back on a sane sleep schedule.
Isn't this site a great resource for information?
Colleen

Hi Colleen,
My computer crashed and I was unable to respond. Finally it is back and I once again feel connected to the world.

Where does Cathe post the rotations of the workouts? I have many of her dvd's but I have never seen where she posts her specific scheduled workouts?

Are you enjoying your sleep? That would be very refreshing if you have been on a crazy schedule in the past. I work 3rd shift and so I am always switching my sleep schedule which isn't the best thing to do. But I am much more functional during the daylight hours so on my days off I do try to switch.

Love this site!
