Cathe/SNM: Plyometrics as mass builders?

Not much to add to my post title:

Are plyometric drills (for legs and for upper body) considered to be muscle mass builders as well as a protocol to develop muscle performance power? Is that why there is a Plyo Legs series of workouts in the STS Series?
