Cathe re:August rotation

With the August rotation would I be able to add some mass and definition to my legs or is it meant to slim them down? I am looking to add a little more to them.

Hi Diane Sue! One set rotation will never be the answer for all body types so I always encourage tweaking rotations to meet your specific nedds/desires.

The august rotation is a mixture of heavy leg training, moderate to heavy leg training, leg endurance training and cardio. This would tend to do more shaping and defining for most. However, to make it meet your needs (if they are not already being met) you can cut back on some of the cardio and also lift slower and heavier during your workouts (ie: trade one leaner legs for a S&H leg workout) if you prefer more size. By the same token, you can add more cardio and stick with lighter weights if you feel your legs gaining more size than you prefer (ie: do leaner legs or legs and glutes in place of S&H legs or Pyramid lower body).

Good Luck~

Thanks Cathe,
I will try going heavier on more of the leg work and see what happens.

Thanks for bringing up this point.

I am trying to keep my legs in good form and not bigger~ almost the opposite of you Diane. I've already done PLB twice this week; now I'll lean more towards the endurance leg workouts and will substitute an either L&G or Leaner legs for S&H legs.

BTW This rotation is fun Cathe!

Hi Judy
I found Cathe's answer really informative. I am going to try more endurance based exercises for upper body as I really am not trying for size there and heavier slower exercises for lower. I have recently lowered the duration of my cardio and found that to be effective as I have tended to lean towards my love of cario. I just came back from a campout and saw vids and thought my legs were very skinny?? I measured them at 18 1/4 on upper thighs. Persoally I do not know what would be normal for someone 5'4". I just think they could use a little more bulk.
Diane Sue

On the other hand my thighs measured 22" at the beginning of this rotation! There is no flab~ truly solid as a rock. Do you see why I really don't need to increase the size ? Any way I am still sticking with this roation for general benefits and a metabolism booster.
