Cathe, quick question (not about moddies, I promise!)

Hi Cathe,

I originally posted this in "ask Cathe", because it's not a STS Shock Cardio question, but I think you are spending more time here lately, so I thought I'd do an oh-so-improper forum jump and ask my question again here.

As of late, I have discovered that I love circuit training workouts. Boot Camp is now my favourite fun workout of all time! But I have to admit, I'm not sure what the goal of circuit workouts is - what it is I am trying to accomplish when I do them; is it:

- strength (we don't really seem to do heavy muscle building);
- cardio (cardio is involved, but it seems that we deliberately lower the heartrate for the strength segments);
- straight up calorie burning (this seems like it makes the most sense); or
- a little bit of everything all in one, but no major focus in any particular fitness area


I was also wondering if EPOC is increased or decreased during circuit workouts (in comparison with strength or cardio workouts).

PS. oh, and "moddies"? My new word for modifications!
