Cathe Newbie can't get enough. . .

Hi all. :) I am fairly new to Cathe's vids (have been doing them for 2 months now), started with the Wedding Video and then added MIS, Power Hour (MIS and PH were a little too advanced for me when I did them, but I'm hoping to revisit them soon), Mega Step Blast, Step Heat, Step Max, IM, CM (have not done IM and CM yet) and more recently, the CTX series. I'm starting week 3 of CTX on Monday, and I can't stop talking about it to dh, as if he actually knows the wonder of it all! ;) I did All Step today, and I had so much fun I almost did it all over again. This evening I ordered more vids - 3 from the PS series, Cardio Kicks and Body Max - those deals you get from purchasing multiple tapes is fantastic!

I also have Rhythmic Step and MIC on the way (trades from Videofitness). I'm going to start a PS rotation in a couple of weeks and can't wait to start incorporating more of my step tapes into this rotation. Do you all do one PS tape, 3X per week, i.e. M-W-F? Do some of you do a PS tape and then add cardio from CTX to get more cardio in? I'm psyched over the possibilities, here!

Cathe's tapes are like Lay's chips, you can't just have one!

Hi Kristina,
I just started doing Cathe's tapes this month. I love them. I'm a devoted Firm fan but wanted more intensity in my workouts. Man, did I get it with Cathe. I've bought 6 step tapes, the PS series and the S&H series. My credit card is on fire!!!!

I am currently doing a PS rotation like this:
Sat MIC Hi/Lo (or any CTX cardio session) and PS C/S/T
Sun MIC Step (or any CTX cardio session) and PS B/B/A
Mon PS L/A
Tue Any Cathe step tape (or Cardio Kicks)
Wed Body Max Step and MIS Upperbody or Body Max Upper Body
Thu any CTX cardio session and MIS Lowerbody or Body Max Circuits
Fri REST!
I too have been using Cathe's DVDs for 2 months. I started with the CTX series and I know own all of her DVDs! (My husband likes my energy and confidence now, he just didn't appreciate our credit card statement!) Have fun! I love the PS series! Cathe is the best!

Hi shoeprincess,

I also do the Firm (started out with them 4 years ago), and I know what you mean about intensity with the Cathe tapes! I think they've allowed me to be able to push a little more each time and I feel like my cardio endurance has really improved already. Also, my upper body strength has improved as well since I've been on the CTX rotation. I actually look forward to all of my workouts as fun, rather than 'working-out', even though they are killer!

Hi jillybean, your rotation sounds great. I'm thinking of incorporating something similar, but I was unsure how to mix and match my new tapes and yours gives me some good ideas.

My dh knows I'm getting all these Cathe tapes, but hasn't seen the credit card statement yet - hopefully they'll understand that this is 'good spending'! I'm really looking forward to getting my PS series tapes, I can't ever see myself getting bored with any of Cathe's tapes!

I'm going to start the S&H series the 1st of April. I want to get more definition in my upper body before summer hits. Did you order The Firm Kit? I did but decided to cancel it. I've got every Firm tape and now starting Cathe's tapes so I've got plenty to keep me motivated. I know what you mean about looking forward to working out. I love it. My mom told me I used to do Jack Lalane with her when I was 3 yrs. old, boy that sure dates me!!!!

I've heard that the S&H series is fantastic, I bet you'll see some awesome results. I did order the FIRM kit (on Jan. 31st - my card was charged on 3/18 but I haven't received the kit yet), I was also going to cancel the shipment, but I wanted the FL because I don't have the steps for the other Firm tapes (I just turn my club step to make it work) - also, I'd like to have a tallbox that isn't handmade. I do know what you mean about having enough tapes to keep you motivated, I have most of the Firms, the only ones I don't have are the Basics, Prime Powers and U/L Body Splits. Jack Lalane..LOL! I remember seeing him on t.v. when I was little, that is so funny you brought that up!

Hi,
Another Firmie here! These cathe workouts are very addictive...and amazing! The only Firm video that kills me now is Volume 1 and SL. Did SC the other day and although it was a good workout (plyo hell) it didn't seem as hard anymore. I have so many videos now that mixing and matching them is becoming an art form! S&H is a great series and splitting it and adding it to cardio works just as well too. ( Like vol1 standing portion+SC jen C's segment+S&H legs works real well )Body Max I am just beginning to conquer and what a good workout, you could split it so easily, very versitile. CTX is supposed to be real good for that too.

Oh you would think I get paid for praising CTX as much as I do! It is incredible how versitile it is! 2 of the workouts are split into step/hi-lo/kickbox so sometimes I do the step from both of those added onto another, sometimes I do the kickbox and then part of another, etc. Plus weight work and abs too? Oh my goodness it is just so great! I have yet to do a rotation where I do not use CTX at least one day. It is awesome! Yesterday I did All Step and Step Intervals together and that was super too! If you happen to have eighty bucks just lying around, do not hesitate! Buy this series!
