:D Hi Cathe! Just wanted to let you know I just did "Step Blast" and Oh what a BLAST! First of all I wanted to say how beautiful you look in the beginning instructional part. The video/choreography was quite challenging for this old time stepper. I had the most trouble with the peg leg pivot. I mastered it in the breakdown, but when it came to the actual "Body Blast" challenge I found myself on the back of the step while during the breakdown I am in front of the step. Do you have any advice as to what I am doing wrong? Gotta go to bed, you tired me out woman!

Same thing happened to me during my "preview." (Just couldn't help myself). It reminded me of that part in Rhythmic step near the end where there is an "in-out-in" and then I forget, but for a year I ended up on the wrong side of the step! I guess it just takes time...

:D Yes, I believe it does take time. There are still some older Cathe videos that I end up on the wrong side. I must be somehow be ending up on the wrong leg! It usually takes me at least a couple times through to master these steps!

Hi Lisa! Don't give up on that move:) It is so much fun once you get it. My class members got a little "tongue tied" with it a couple of times too but once it clicked, they looked forward to it each week.

Breakdown Review:

Start position: face the front corner of the step on a diagonal so that your right leg is ready to step up diagonally on the corner of the step)

Right leg does a peg leg on the corner of the step (count 1,2)

Now, Right leg steps forward to do a pivot turn on the floor diagonally along the side of the step. You are now facing the back wall on a diagonal (count 3, 4)

As you put your RIGHT foot (not left foot which I have seen some try to do) on the step again you are placing it on the step from an off center angle and pushing off of it in a way to complete that pivot turn so that you are back to your starting position(which was facing the front corner of the step on a diagonal)...(count 5, 6)

Now complete the move with your mambo backward on the floor leading with your right foot (count 7,8)

Hope that helps:)
Have fun! Its always a bit of a mental challenge in the beginning but that's half of the fun right?:7

:D Thanks for the breakdown of the peg leg pivot Cathe! The actual move I don't have trouble with, somehow I am ending up on the back of the step when it comes time to do the peg leg pivot during the challenge. Must be I am on the wrong leg during the move just before the peg leg pivot which puts me to the back of the step? Can't wait to try Kick, Punch and Crunch tonight! See YA!

:D Cathe, I am soo proud of myself! I did "Step Blast" for a second time tonight and mastered the dreaded peg leg pivot! The problem was the fast straddle tap sequence. I was starting the straddle tap on the wrong foot, thus ending up on the wrong side of the bench. I feel soo accomplished and sweaty! Thanks for a TERRIFFIC new series!
