I'd like to see workouts that show intermediate modifications, so that both intermediate and advanced moves are on the same workout (so that we can choose to do either level for any of the moves, depending on how we are feeling that day, our personal tastes, or our individual workout level, etc.---yes, I know we can modify, but sometimes it's nicer to be able to workout with someone else who is doing the same thing we are).
Quite a few other instructors do this, and I think it's a great idea. Just some examples: Gay Gasper's newest step workout often shows 3 or 4 variations on the same move, and Gin Miller's Intense Moves shows "hard," "harder," and "hardest" variations for each interval move.
Two background exercisers could workout on a lower step, do low-impact variations of moves, etc. without interfering that much with the 'flow' of the workout (wanting everyone to be in unison is one reason I can think of that Cathe doesn't do this in her workouts).
