Cathe - I know the buildup of lactic acid is what causes "the burn" that we get when we exercise, especially lifting weights. I've read that athletes get less lactic acid buildup than other people, and that some people are actually genetically pre-disposed to have less lactic acid buildup when they exercise. Do you think this is true? Will I have less pain from exercise as I get stronger? Or do I just need to suck it up and learn to take the pain. I know you feel the burn because you say so in your workouts, but sometimes I think you must be feeling it less than I do! Either that or your threshold for pain is a lot higher than mine.
