Cathe-Is this enough weight training?

Cathe, Just want to say that I love your work outs. they have transformed my body. You are awwesome!!

I use your cardio tapes 4x a week and the other 2 days I use your tapes that have strength exercises in them like Circuit Max, SJP, Cardio and weights. Is this enough weight training or should I do one of your tapes that contain only weight training and no cardio?

Hi Franny,

I am not Cathe, but IMHO, I would say the answer to your question depends on what your fitness goals are. If you want to concentrate on adding muscle mass or really toning your muscles and working on endurance, I would say you should add in some more lifting. But if your focus is more on cardio and circuit training, I think your current rotation is fine! Don't forget, though, all of the added benefits that more weight training can give you: increased metabolism, improved bone density, and you will probably also see an improvement in your cardio workouts since your muscles will just keep getting stronger and you will be able to push yourself harder!

Hi Franny! Alison is right, it does depend on what your goals are. I personally find the benefits of weight training, whether it be for health reasons or simply physical change, to be so different than that of cardio benefits. For this reason, I like to take at least one workout a week and focus exclusively on weight training so that I am rewarded with the maximum benefits it has to offer in addition to my cardio workouts. Please understand that you are definitely getting weight training benefits with the circuit workouts that you are doing. It's just that to get maximum weight training benefits, I think it is good to make at least one workout focus only on weight training. Good luck!
