Hi Cathe:

I know you are extremely busy, but I need to ask you......

I teach step aerobics for our Community Ed program in my hometown. I absolutely LOVE it, I am so full of energy and I love to "pump" my class up with excitement. I'd love to do this for a living, but have NO IDEA where to start. Any ideas?

Thanks,
~Marcia~ :)

I'm not Cathe so I hope you don't mind me chiming in here. I was wondering if you're certified as a Group Instructor? If not, I think that would be the first step towards your goal.

I agree with Pixie - best way is to take an accredited course in group exercise. Ace and AAFA both offer classes.

Hi Marcia! Your energy sounds so contagious. I hope you follow your dreams. There are so many directions you can go with everything, but you do need to start by at least getting your Primary Group Fitness Certification. You will find many organizations that offer this but I like to stick with those highly recognized in the industry.

That would be ACE:

AFFA:

http://www.afaa.com/100.afa (select Certifications and Workshops in the left margin to advance further into the search)

ACSM (this one is a bit harder than the two above in my opinion)

Good Luck!
