Cathe - fat loss rotation plus build shoulders/arms??

Cathe,

Would you recommend doing a fat loss rotation (like the one you have suggested on the rotation forum) but at the same time lifting heavy for shoulders and arms to increase muscle mass there? This is what I would like to do, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Should I do the fat loss rotation as is, and add a heavy shoulder/arm day? Or instead should I miss out the high rep shoulder/arm work so that I can focus a day on these muscles? Or is it a bad idea trying to combine these 2 different things? Hope you can help!

My advice (till Cathe answers you) is to try to focus on one thing at a time. Building shoulders and everything that requires, such as core strength, meticulous form to prevent injury and enable true mass building, requires a dedicated concentration. When you get tired of it (1-8 weeks) then switch over to a fat burning rotation.

A sensible rotation for each focus would include some cardio and some full-body weight training. The shoulder building rotation IMO should include S & H shoulders and at least one full body workout with a good shoulder section, e.g. Power Hour, MIS, CTX Upper/LL. Or switch off. Sub PS for S&H sometimes. Avoid extreme interval workouts.

The fat burning should include intervals and (as-is). Mentally and physically, my opinion is to shift focus from one to the other, instead of trying to achieve both goals at once. It's your decision to switch whenever you want though!

I am a naturally pear shaped person so this has always been my workout goal.

Hope this helps you for now!
