Cathe---cardio question :-)

Hi Cathe,
I was wondering if you could answer this for me. If you were not teaching classes how much cardio would you be aiming for per week? And what percentage of your workout range would you be trying to maintain during the cardio session?
Just for the heck of it, how much cardio in minutes per week are you doing now, including your classes?

Hi Trevor! 3 of my 6 weekly one hour classes are cardio based. The other 3 are weight based. I like to do 30 to 60 minute cardio workouts 4 to 5 days per week (this includes my classes). It really depends on life's events as to whether I achieve that or not:)
 
Cathe, do you like to vary the intensity of your cardio or do you feel that going all-out intensity-wise works best for you?
 
Just curious, too, as to how long a cardio seesion needs to be in order to achieve the benefits, and if I only have 30 minutes two or three times a week, should all those minutes be spent doing interval work. I have a hard time fitting cardio into my schedule, mainly because my cardio workout area is my living room and I'm often competing against Sponge Bob for TV time!
