Does anyone know of any Cathe intensity classes in Atlanta? I'm getting frustrated trying to find some.

Thanks!

I'm more familiar with Cathe's step vids v. her weights besides just viewing her online clips and imagining her strength classes to be very challenging. So, as far as Atlanta step: Ansley LA Fitness has fabulous step classes. Nothing gets better than a packed step class with awesome music.

The coordinator at Ansley usually updates the board outside the women's locker room as far as regular instructor v. sub. But, my absolute regular classes if I can make it: Sunday 4:30p (taught by Scott), Monday 7p (Scott), Tuesday 5:45p (Mike), Wednesday 7p (Scott), Thursday 7p (Kammick's - challenging, chaotic, great fun, will take several classes before you "get it" - that's for the best of the best steppers), Friday 5:45p (Scott), Saturday 9:45a (alternates Scott and Mike). Scott's my absolute fave, but I love variety, so I reallly like Mike and Kammick, too. ***You need to arrive at least 30 minutes in advance, or it's likely you won't get a step. Watch out, you'll be hooked.

I actually teach Firm-style "AWT" classes at Ansley on Monday at 4:30p and Tuesday 12:15p and get pretty good feedback -- basically cardio and weights. Note that LAF doesn't carry heavy weights in the aerobics rooms (10 lb. max), so I pretty much teach more high reps, esp. for lower body. I know Cathe goes heavier more often.

I heard Jeanne's Body Tech has great classes, but I've never been. It also depends on the atmosphere you're seeking -- I like LAF b/c of the variety of gym locations, and when you've been around long enough, you know the awesome classes. Ansley's a friendly gym, you won't feel intimidated at all. Also, Ansley LAF is conducive to gals who don't enjoy being hit on at the gym -- the men are lovely but are more interested in each other! Great community of people!

Can you tell I love my step classes at Ansley? I should get paid for advertising. Feel free to ask any other questions. Good luck!

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I live in East Cobb and that's just too far for me to drive. I have visited other LAF and the classes are not that great. They seem to be geared to the average exercisers.

I used to workout at Jeannes Body Tech when I lived in Buckhead (before kids). It was awesome. We really need something like that in the burbs. Maybe I should open one : )
