Cathe and Rhonda's personal training plan

Hi Cathe!

I really love your tapes and was wondering if you could give me a bit of guidance. I would like to train in the same way as you and Rhonda both seem to. From Rhonda's bio and your responses on the forum it seems that you both do around 3 cardio classes per week, 1 full body class per week (Rhonda also does yoga, and an abs and butt class) and then you work 1 body part per day (heavy) for about 30 minutes. Rhonda said she just started doing this about a year ago and you can see the diffence it made in the intensity series. Soooo buff! All your tapes except for slow and heavy are about 10 minutes (more of less) per body part. Knowing this, how do I duplicate your program? Should I mix and match to add up to 30 minutes per body part, do each 10 minute segment 3 times per session, only do the slow and heavy tapes, make up my own program .... Help! I have set a goal to achieve that same results as you and Rhonda but I really need your input.

Thanks!

Hello - I'm not Cathe but her June rotation was doing one body part per day. I have been following it for 3 weeks (I started it late in June) and I am loving it. I always combined my body parts and never thought I would like doing one part per day but I have seen great results.

Charlene!

I have never done the one body part/day either. Just started this week and I am loving it too. I am combining CTX & PS together. (Just finished shoulders as a matter of fact!) It seems easy to fit a half hour into your day for strength work as compared to a full tape. Something I never noticed before was the "AFTER" burn of my muscles. When Cathe says, "feel the heat", you DO when combining two workouts. Whew, my shoulers are actually very warm to the touch right now. Guess it really got the ole blood-a-flowin'! Hoping to see some results too!

RE: Charlene!

DebbieH,
I remember seeing your arms in that picture you posted when your granddaughter was born. You had some fantastic looking arms then, so if you get even better results with this new routine then I definitely want to hear all about it. Please update us in a few weeks. I like the one body part plan myself but I've always heard that it was a routine for "maintenance" and since I have a long way until maintenance I figure I should do splits or full body. Since you're an instructor, would you happen to know? If I'm still trying to get rid of 20 lbs of fat, is it okay for me to do one body part per day? Plus a lot of cardio of course. I've always wanted to get clarification on the one-body-part per day thing.

Take care!

Lisa! (sorry, looong!)

Thank you for the nice compliment. I am not sure which picture you are refering to, but I do find that my arms & shoulders are so much easier for me to define then my lower body. (I sure wish that the lower body was as easy!) It's funny, we don't see ourselves as others see us and I always think I need more work, but I have had three people I don't know personally in the past year comment on my arms, so I guess maybe they are defined! :p I had gotten to a point where my muscles were getting quite large, especially the bis and my thighs/quads. I decided to cut back on the amount of weight I used and I am seeing a bit more definition and not quite so much size, which is the look I am going for. I think doing the two tapes together, using a challenging weight, but not going all out heavy- wise, since there are lots more reps, will be a good thing. (meaning more muscle endurance) Does this make sense? I do not feel what I am doing is maintenance. It is hard work to do both tapes! Plus, since it is something I have never done, I am hoping it is the shake-up I need. Know what I mean? Hope I have answered your question. I will keep you posted on what results I see, okay? Sorry so long.

RE: Lisa! (sorry, looong!)

Hello,
I became interested in this one body part per day rotation about a month ago when Cathe posted it. I have been doing S&H and PS&MIS(together). I find I really like it for a few reasons, first of all, I don't feel all out exhausted at the end of my workout when I do full body, I don't get bored at all (before I know it, I'm done with that one body part and move on to cardio) and I feel like I can lift alot heavier after a few weeks. I was actually shocked how heavy I can lift!! Slow and heavy is so good for that. My muscles feel not so much bigger but definately harder, so I guess it's working. I was so afraid to not hit each body part twice per week thinking I was never going to get any gains, but I trusted Cathe's rotation and I love it. It really is a refreshing change both physically and mentally. Try it for a week, if yoy dont' like it, switch to something else. Hope this helps. Just my opinion.
