Cathe (and other instructors) -- BPMs for sculpting class?

Hi Cathe! I was wondering if you could give me some advice. My gym recently dropped Body Pump :( but the director has asked me to continue teaching a weighted barbell class with the same type of format, i.e., design my own program based on the same principles as BP.

My question concerns music selection. I know AFAA recommends that music for conditioning activities be no more than 130 BPM, but I've tried choreographing a few tracks to that speed and they seem so slow (at least compared to what I'm used to with BP). Do you think it's OK to go up to, say, 140 BPM if you're careful with the single time moves. And also, I was wondering if you knew/remembered what the BPMs were for Power Hour.

Anyway, any thoughts on this issue (including any recommendations for premixed CDs that would work) would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. The gym's sound system does not have pitch control!
