Cathe - ? about rotations you suggested...

Hi Cathe,
I noticed in the rotations you posted using the new workouts that you put Pyramid Upper and Boot Camp on consecutive days in the first rotation, and Cardio & Weights before the Muscle Endurance workout in the muscle endurance rotation. My question is - will using weights on consecutive days interfere with recovery? And, if not, can I do a workout like Circuit Max for cardio before or after a strength day?
Hope this made sense. Can't wait to try out the new workouts!

I was thinking...

...the exact same thing. I hope Cathe gets a minute to answer this. Is she saying that Cardio & Weights is light enough to do right before the Muscle Endurance tape? Does Boot Camp have a lot of weight work? Curious minds.

And Cathe, if you don't have time...we understand. But I was also curious about the Pyramid Lower Body tape and whether it is tougher or complimentary to Leaner Legs.

Goodness, I can't wait for these tapes. I even had a dream about Cathe last night. Scary that I'm dreaming about working out...but I am...and I love it.

RE: I was thinking...

I could be wrong but would say that Pyramid Lower Body is going to be strength, more like PS and S&H lower body where Leaner Legs is endurance.

I have done pyramids (Body-for-Life) and they are make you work! Cathe's will be great! (torture ;-)

I also wanna hear what Cathe has to say on this one for sure.

I had a dream about joining the Club Cathe owns and working out with her live the other night ;-)

I wanted to bump this up in hopes Cathe would have time to answer as I'm really egar to hear what she has to say.

Hi Erica! Boot Camp only contains one minute of weight training per a particular body part and Cardio Wts has two minutes per upper body part (there is no specific lower body weight training in Cardio/Wts). The structure of these workouts does not stay on any one body part long enough to interfere with recovery for that body part(unless you are extremely sore ((which could happen initially upon doing them)), in which you would simply use a very light weight for that minute or two to help break up the lactic acid in the muscle group).

Yes, you can do Circuit Max before or after a strength day keeping the same thought process in mind as above. The main reason being that this workout also focuses more specifically on cardio output than weight training.

Boot camp actually focuses more on overall stamina since you do a wide variety of exercises and move fairly quickly from one to the next. But again, since no one muscle group is taxed for very long it can be used along side other weight workouts if you are not extremely sore.

:)

RE: I was thinking...

Hi Angela! Pyramid Lower Body will feel entirely different than Leaner Legs. There is more recovery time in PLB since you have to stop to change the weight increments after every set. And the fact that you have more recovery time plus continuously increase your weight for the first three sets, PLB is more of a strength workout where LL is more muscle endurance.
