Cathe - a question about your diet

Hi, Cathe,

I just love how hard you work on your body and the way it looks because it's so strong! You seem to have so much energy. I saw you post in a few threads that you eat a clean diet. Is there a specific program or book that you follow? Is there a book you recommend for this clean eating?

Thanks so much!
Chrissy

Hi Chrissy, thank you! No I don't follow a book or principle. I just take it meal by meal. I open the fridge and pull out a protein, some greens, and some complex carbs and thats it. For instance, for lunch today I had 99% lean turkey burger, brown rice, steamed broccoli and green beans, and a glass of skim milk. I'm not one to make anything too complicated. Nutrition can get very complicated if you want it to be. I just am sure to eat a wide variety of healthy foods so that I get all the nutrients in me by weeks end. Hope that helps!

Hello Cathe,

Have you heard of The Sugar Solution? I just bought the book and cookbook. I've not read it all the way through by any means, but generally the focus of the "solution" is to eat low glycemic foods, which keeps your blood sugar from spiking and dipping - and as a result, you lose weight. Would you consider this "clean" eating?

Hi Reese,

I'm not Cathe but my answer would be yes, a low glycemic diet would be considered "clean". Most diet books advocate "clean" eating in some form or another and lower glycemic foods tend to be high in fiber and nutrients. I also think that cutting sugar from your diet is a big step toward clean eating.
