Cathe a Leg Question for you...

Hi Cathe, hope you are recovering well from your injury. My question has to do with thighs/butt. I'm 5'1" and about 15 lbs overweight and working on my diet, but my problem area is extremely jiggly thighs and butt, inner thigh and knee area to be really specific. I'm almost 40 and have some cartilage wear and tear on my knees so running, high impact and squats/lunges are out for me. Any suggestions to strengthen this area that is knee friendly?? Maybe even a rotation? I own all of your workouts except the beginner's dvds, I also have a step, recumbent bike, dumbells, barbell, the band used in Gym Styles and a stability ball.

Thanks so much for any help you can provide!

Well I am not Cathe but I think that cycle or spin workout would be a great cardio alternative for you and it is somewhat knee friendly (or at least friendlier than running or step or other impact type cardio). It is more of an endurance workout than strength so you don't have to worry about developing too much muscle in the lower body and the caloric burn is pretty decent. However, I do not know if you can vary the intensity of your recumbent bike or the resistance.

Hi Stacy! Do you have Gym Style legs, Pure Strength legs, Legs & Glutes and Pyramid lower body? If so, I would suggest you do the floor work on all of these dvds. Another great leg workout are the leg drills from Kick Max. Even if you have only 2 of these it would help you quite a bit to slim down these areas. HTH, Kathy:D
