Carole--do you recommend?

You stated that you do the Power Half Hour workout for Freestyle. I noticed that one has to buy the entire set. Do you think the whole set is worth it? By the way, I used the Legs from P90x and once again, you were right, right, right.
I am thinking an "Ask Carole" section on this forum would be a great idea.
Thank you again and again!

Yes the 3 workout DVD is worth it. I also do MIS for Freestyle and Bodymax has a great upper body segment when I am short on time. If you like step, Bodymax is a good workout with power segments that could also be used for Freestyle. All 3 workouts have good ab sections too...Thank you Kate...for your kind words...:)...Carole

I have basic step/body fusion. I just received boot camp/me. I'm not new to exercise, but I am new to Cathe. Do you recommend something in between basic step and BC? I guess I can always return BC because I havent opened it yet.

Thanks,
Carmen

Tallchick: you seem to be talking about PHH, the Beachbody product, and Carole, you seem to be talking about PH, Cathe's workout. Just wondered if you're both on the same page.;-)

I really like PHH (Tony Horton). The upper body workout is time-efficient and effective, and somewhat like P90X upper body without the pull-ups/chin-ups. I like all the workouts (the abs workout has both standing an floor work, which is a nice change, and there are two lower body workouts--"buns" and "thighs" that work the lower body a bit differently. I actually like PHH lower body work a bit more than P90X lower body work.

Carole,
Can you explain to me what exactly is Power half hour? I have PH DVD. Do you just do the squats and lunge section only, if so, just once or 2 or 3 times? Also, in another post of yours you said you like GS legs, L&G, and PLB for freestyle. Do you just do the whole workout just like Cathe or do you repeat certain sections? Thanks so much for your input. All of us out hear know that Carole is our freestyle expert. I agree with one of the other posters about you having your own forum out here.

Thanks again!

From an earlier post, Carole stated that she used Power Half Hour from Tony Horton, not the Cathe Power Hour.
I am going to order the Beachbody product. I only hope that I have some decent service from Beachbody---alot of disgruntled buyers out there, I hear.

I've never had any problems with them (knock wood!). And it seems that those of us who purchased online have fewer problems than those who call in their orders.

Kate....I am so sorry for being a speedreader! Kathryn is completely right as we are talking about 2 different workouts!!! I have been lucky like Kathryn also and have not had any problems with beachbody. And yes I do use the Bun Shaper and Thigh trimmer from Power Half Hour for Freestyle! I do think the set is worth it as like Kathryn said the ab routine is different and fun to do. I have also done the upper body as it is only a half hour when I don't have alot of time. I am so sorry for the mix-up...

Garilee....Freestyle is a different approach to working the lower body geared more towards the pear shaped woman. I have a link you can check out..: http://69.0.137.118/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=4&topic_id=179092&mesg_id=179092&page=7 it has alot of info...:)

Thank you Cinnamon...:)...when I do PH I do all the lower body but just one set. For the other workouts with floor leg work I usually do the whole workout or sometime split the standing and floorwork on consecutive days. I like to do floorwork exercises 2 times a week.

Thanks Kathryn...:)...Carole

carol, I looked at the thread you posted for me very interesting...
I have a question, Do you use weights to do the lunges? If you do
How much? Also I have pryamid legs and legs and glutes how would I
use these? Thanks for your help. I've used the firm forever but
find I like working out with Cathe a whole lot more!
Garilee

Garilee, I am also a former Firmie..:)...Yes I use 2 7.5 lb dumbells for any lunges. But when I do Pyramid Lower Body I use 25, 30 and 35lb barbells. I used to go a bit heavier there and Freestyle is more about lighter weights and more reps..you are welcome...:)...Carole

carole, Here I am again. If you do the lower body workout, 4to6 times
a week do you also do upper body on some of those days? Well, I
guess who'd have to... I guess. I guess I'm thinking of the time
frame. How long does it take? My other question is what do you eat?

Garilee

Garilee...I do have alot of time to workout. In the Freestyle book they say not to do your upper body more than twice a week and not many exercises. But...I work my upper body out a bit different as I have the time. I try for shoulders, bi's and tri's 3 times a week, and back & chest 2 times a week using mostly Cathe's strength workouts. I also work my abs 3-5 times a week. I have followed a mostly Vegan way of eating for the last 18 months after reading "Eat to Live" by Joel Fuhrman which I found out about on the "Ask Cathe" forum...:)...Carole
