Cardio Kicks vs Kick Max

Which do you think is more fun Cardio Kicks or Kick Max? Also how do the power drills compare in the two? Kickboxing isn't my favorite, but I want more shoulder definiton and I'm interested in the power drills at the end of the workouts. I read that the ones at the end of Kick Max are pretty good.
Thanks,
Amy

My favorite Cathe kickboxing is KPC.
Cardio Kicks is more of a kickbox-flavored hi-low workout, and it can use a lot of room. It took me a while to get into it (also because Cathe's form isn't great in it--it has definitelhy improved!), and to figure out how to adapt it to my space, but I really like it now.

I quickly got rid of KM. The kickbox segment had too many pivots, which actually took the intensity down, and the power drills are too over-the-top jumping around, IMO. There are leg conditioning drills at the end of the workout as well.

FOr shoulder definition, I'd think that CK would be more effective, as there are punching as well as kicking drills.

I think it depends on what you want. The CK drills are a lot of upper body punches (along with some sequential power kicks and ice breakers) and really works the upper body hard if you do it right. I can really feel it in my upper abs the next day. CK is also more aerboic over all and "dancier". It may be the better workout if you don't like kick boxing too much.

Kick Max's drills are blasts - 10 in a row and very high intensity and high impact. They are not really traditional kick boxing, but the first part is, and the leg conditioning drills are strictly that - no cardio at all.

KPC is more fun - I agree with Kathryn. Cathe really seems to be enjoying herself in this one, and the exercises are just right. But the drills are not as intense as either CK's drills or KM's blasts.

I've said it before - I love a combination of all three. I do the warm ups and drills of KPC, the blasts of KM and the drills of CK. I burn major calories and I get a killer workout.

I agree with both of the posts and just wanted to add that Kickmax is becoming a favorite of mine because I find it to be a very versatile workout. The first time I did it in it's entirety I didn't care for it because it just seemed to be all over the place, like Cathe couldn't figure out where she wanted to go with it. Now I split it up. I do the first segment on days when I want a light workout, the blasts when I want to challenge myself or do a quick calorie burner before I go out to eat, and my favorite the leg condition drills at least twice a week because it's such a great leg toner. I think I'm going to get a lot of use out of this workout!

Of the two, I like Cardio Kicks better! It's more fun, has better music and I definitely feel my shoulder muscles working! That's not to say that Kick Max is bad---I like Kick Max in a different way. Kick Max does take up less space than Cardio Kicks, but you can modify the moves in Cardio Kicks (do big scoops or power hops in place; go for height instead of sideways)

And if you want to consider KPC, I'd say it's the best of the 3! They're all quite different from eachother and I would definitely watch the video clips, read the detailed descriptions of each workout and any reviews on the workouts.

Definetly KPC is the best of her kickbox workouts.

KM was too much jumping for me. I've only done it once. I hear folks say they like it though.

I dont do CK much these days but it's a fun work out. I love the guys in it. Especially when she says "i need some MOTIVATION"

let us know what you decide.

I enjoy the drills in cardio kicks but that's it.I love kickmax all of it but for shoulder defintion I would recomend ctx kickbox. My shoulders scream when I do this one.It is short but you could always do it two times and it would be more intensity than cardio kicks-imo.I love the kick punch combo in kpc but not the low-high intensity drills but to me kickbox ctx is the better arm workout.Edited to add the drills in kickmax are for heart rate mainly
jumping jacks-power scissors-seq kicks-hammer lunges-jump tucks-lunge kick-jab at fast speed. There is 3 more I just can't think of them now.I love the drills in kickmax I think they are harder than most of the imax intervals.infact I am doing kickmax tomorrow:)

Thanks everyone for the info! I've see KPC on Fitv, but it doesn't look like one that I want to do, which is weird because I know so many people love it. I think I'm going to order Kick Max mostly for the leg drills, so I hope they're worth it!

Thanks again,
Amy

I'm another one that loves Cardio Kicks (I think it is more fun than Kick Max). I also love Circuit Max.
