Cardio Junkies: CC vs. i___

Ok - I have long adored my cardio coach workouts for both TM and elliptical (and also outside when I trained last year for the 3-day walk). But I was lucky enough to receive 2 itreads for Xmas (thanks!) and REALLY like them. So for you cardio junkies - which do you all prefer and why? I have my own tm and elliptical, so looking at the itreads and iclimbs. TIA

Hi Lorrie, I cannot help with a treadmill as I don't own one. But for my Elliptical I love iTrain workouts and yes even better than CC's as I have done both. I like iTrains because he takes you thru the different resistances and that works better for me than the CC's...:)

Lorrie, do I REALLY need to answer this question! LOL I think you know MY answer!!!

iTrain all the way.

I just like the variety of the workouts, first off. There are just SO many, and I REALLY like the idea that they offer new workouts each month.

I also like being given the guidelines of numbers and of different levels (walking, jogging and running). I've ALWAYS had trouble gauging my workouts using the perceived exertion checks. Yes, I know when I'm at a 0 and at a 10! That's quite obvious, but even during an iTread, when Grace says "you should be working around 5 or 6", I can never tell! LOL

Also, (and this is the competitor in me), I like to really CHALLENGE the numbers I'm given. For instance, I usually follow the runner's nubmers, but I like to push the envelope and go beyond them at some points.

What actually got me started was the cost...not expensive at all!

Enough reasons? lol

p.s. I WILL say that I do like the Cardio Coach Press Play workout. SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Thank you ladies!! Looks like I need to be looking at the itrain workouts a bit more cloesely (ENABLERS!!!!) I think the iclimbs would be a ggod thing to check out. DH has at least started using the elliptical, but he does a VERY general SS - no challenge for him ever - he barely sweats!

All I can say is be happy your DH is using the Elliptical Lorrie...I would need a cattle prod to get my DH back on it...x(

Hands down, Cardio Coach is heads and tails above iTrain :p :7

Don't get me wrong, I have several iClimb workouts and I like them well enough, but Keith just doesn't "speak" to me the way Coach Sean does.

I prefer CC because it's so well done -- it's a complete package with all the finishing touches. I like the CC music better, too. I like that CC includes a thorough warm up and cool down with every workout, too, and IIRC, iClimbs do not always have a cool down.

I think it all boils down to your own needs and preferences. I NEED motivation and nobody motivates me like Coach Sean. He makes me feel like I can do anything. Keith is nice and he's a perfectly good coach, but he doesn't stir my passions, for lack of a better description. He doesn't kick in at that perfect moment with some incredibly inspiring comment that makes me want to push through to the finish line.

I've tried to choose iClimbs that fill a void not met by CC, like the circuit workout (I can't remember which one it is) where you hop on and off the elliptical and do lunges and stuff like that. I don't have my iPod handy and I'm working on a new computer, but I'll let you know tomorrow which iClimbs I like the best. I definitely feel that there's plenty of room for both coaches in my life, but Sean will always be my A #1 :+
