Cardio before or after weight trainging

Hi again Cathe! :)

I have a question in regards to cardio. You gave me some great advice yesterday on which tapes and a program for building muscle. If I am doing cardio on the same day as weight training, should it be done before or after? I have heard so many different stories about that. I have heard that it limits the muscle growth if done right after the weight training. Is this true? What do you recommend? I could do cardio in the morning and the weights after work, but it doesn't always work out that way. Once again... I need your help! Thanks!! :)

Hi, I'm not Cathe, but I'll answer what I've heard. I've heard that you should do weights first to kind of rev up your metabolism (don't know if this is true though!). I've also read that you should do the thing you're focusing on more first- so if you want more fat burning, do cardio first so you can put more energy into that.

I, personally, just joined a gym and started a new rotation. I like doing the weight machines first, before my cardio class. I usually am tired/sweaty after my cardio so I often skip the weights and just go home. If you think there's a chance you'll skip the weights or not be able to really focus on them, do them first or a few hours before/after cardio.
Good luck!
