Can't get the 3rd combo in HIS!!

I had the same problem, but I figured it out. You need to shuffle forward with your outside leg or the one closest to your TV(assuming you are at the place in the video after the hamstring curls and she has you holding facing the back on the right side of the step) then pivot turn to your right with your left lead leg so that when you step up left to do the little hop kick you are stepping left and kicking up your right leg so that you land in sort of a squat to the left of the step.

I hope that helps and I hope I'm right. It works though.

This is definitely one segment that needs some 'left' and 'right' cuing from Cathe (or a preview segment).

I don't like rewinding during a workout, so I don't, but I usually get 80-85% of the moves after one viewing, and the rest when doing the move the second or third time through. Not with HIS.

Combo 3 in HIS was rather frustrating, because just when I almost had it, we changed moves!

You are not alone. I don't think I'm really a Klutz with step but that combo has me baffled too. I just did HIS for the second time tonight. I was really focused and sailed through the first two pretty easily. But that darn third one is tough. Of course by that time, you are already mentally and physically tired. But I will get it - if not next time, probably the next.:)

I finally got it! But, I did the cardio portion of HIS only and then went to the chapters and kept re-doing that 3rd segment until I nailed it. It IS fun once you pick it up. I'm thinking that that shuffle pivot move was used on AllStep but it was on the other side of the step, which seemed to make it less confusing for some reason.

That 3rd blast is tricky too but after re-doing that portion too....I've got it. I don't really like the full jump over the step, especially after all the previous cardio, but I did it. I'm afraid that one of these days I might take a nose dive on that one.

>I don't do a full jump over. I do a more
>like a pony over.

Good idea!
I was looking for a sub for that move, but it was hard to come up with during the workout, in the time I had to come up with it.

A 'pony-over' it will be!

I'm the queen of substitutions. It's the only way I can do a step routine and not pull my hair out. I don't do pivots very well.

So funny bc for the FIRST time ever - I am really having a hard time with the combos! Usually I am the same way - by the time she repeats it for the second time, I have it down...with this one - I was all over the place!
