I absolutely hate that when it gets that way. It is rainy here today - so already dark and gloomy.... Nothing worse than going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark...
I KNEW that's what it would say inside this thread. I've been thinking the same dang thing. I HATE it!! What is the point of daylight savings anyway? Why can't we just leave it the same and have it be lighter longer?
Actually, we just came out of Daylight Savings Time, so now we're in "normal" time. Daylight Savings Time extends daylight into the evening hours during the summer so that children can play outside later, and to reduce electricity usage during the summer. I hate it too, though - having to change the clocks really messes me up for about a week.
LOL! If you want it to be light later, then you want to be IN DST all year round. When we're out of DST, it gets dark earlier (but it gets light earlier in the morning too). Yes, it would be nice to not have to deal with any of this clock-changing. There's no astronomical reason for it, and it doesn't actually make the daylight any longer (it just shifts the hours when daylight occurs). But the government has its own agendas, so there's not much we can do about it. You know, they say that the reason for DST is energy conservation, but honestly, I think a bunch of men came up with it so they could stay out later playing golf in the summers. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
