Can you make recommendations for the following............

BAM

Cathlete
I'm looking for 3 things so I figured I'd clump them into one post.

1.) Suck in pantyhose that don't go much passed mid-thigh that I can wear in the summer with skirts, capris, etc.

2.) A natural "unscented" deodorant that is more powerful for the summer. I love the one I currently use, Lafe's Hemp Oil Deodorant, but it ain't potent enough for this gal in the summer and I'm sure others would appreciate a more effective one for me. I have used the crystal rock before but I would need more of a boulder for summer. }(

3.) A portable cd player that does not skip and is affordable. Is that possible these days?

Thanks for any suggestions and helping me do my shopping! :)

I can't help with one or three but in the summer I use Tom's of Maine deodorants, lavendar or calundela though, don't know about the unscented. Also, I've noticed that a quick scrub of the old pits wih his unscented deodorant soap works helps as well. In the shower, I mean. :D

HTH!

Sparrow, I've used Tom's deodorants before but unfortunately to no avail. However, that deodorant soap is something I'm going to try. Ooh, I can't wait. Thank you!!!!!!!! :)

You're welcome! Let me know how it goes, I am pretty sweaty in the summer myself. Funny thing is, I never used to be. I used to be able to go without deodorant! Ah, the joys of aging...

You might check out the Kohl's website. I saw that they carry several of the shorter length "shapewear" thingies. HTH!

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

RE: Can you make recommendations for the following........

Well this is silly, but Kiehl's has a deodorant which I'm not sure is scented or not and I've never tried. But I've wanted to! It's in lotion form (weird, I know), but the reviews said it works really well. Oh, and I'm not really sure if it's classified as "natural". So...sorry if that's completely useless :p Has anyone else tried this?

Thanks Jonahnah, Tneah and Nadja! I'll be checking out the Kohl's site, Spanx and Kiehl's and no, that was NOT completely useless.:) I am curious about Spanx. Do they make pieces from the waist down or are they complete torso coverage?

Spanx is a regular on the red carpet and on women everywhere who want to lose an inch or two in their waist, hips, etc...serious business here! Yep, they make one that is like a high waisted (above the belly button) biker short, they come to mid thigh. I have worn these when I have worn more form fitting things that are clingy. They do not "cut into" your flesh either, and they last forever.

They come in all sorts of styles, I am positive you will find something perfect! I believe Nordstrom carries the line. Or simply go to www.spanx.com?

Bam,

I am not good at pantyhose (hate the darn things and never wear them if I can help it) and deo (use DH's spray).

But gadgets are my thing!

Why do you want a CD player? Why not convert your CD to mp3 and get yourself a more compact Mp3 player that is skip-free?

You can store many, many CDs worth of music on an MP3 player and it is as easy as pie to convert your CDs to MP3 format.

Here are some suggestions for a good entry level, cost effective option:

a. If you are techno challenged Apple iPod scores for being so easy to use. But Apple does come at a premium price. An option is to check out their refurbished store. The iPod Nano 4GB is available for $99 there:
http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APP.../wa/RSLID?sf=wHF2F2PHCCCX72KDY&nclm=Certified
4GB can store the equivalent of 1000 songs (or your entire CC collection, a few itrains and then some)
You may be able to get a brand new one for about the same price if you check www.buy.com and www.amazon.com if they happen to have a deal up for sale.

b. For just 30 bucks you can get a Sandisk Sansa Clip for $30. It will hold about 250 songs. (Sandisk Sansa Clip also has 2 GB and 4GB options - larger capacity - for a bit more)
http://www.amazon.com/Sansa-Clip-MP...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1213071959&sr=8-2

c. The Creative site has a sale on. If you act FAST you can great a great deal on Creative MP3 players (I like the Zen Stone Plus and Zen models best). Here is an example - the 2GB Stone for just $32:
http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=213&subcategory=214&product=16696
If you use it while working out, it even has a built in stop clock.

I promise to help you through converting your first CD to MP3 and getting it on to the player if you want me to.

>b. For just 30 bucks you can get a Sandisk Sansa Clip for $30.
>It will hold about 250 songs.

Yikes. Typo that I can no longer edit.

For just 30 bucks you can get a Sandisk Sansa Clip 1 GB was what I meant to say.

Tneah, thanks so much! I have a Nordstrom's near me and I'm a "like to try before I buy" kind of person. I will go on the Spanx website and check out their styles. Yee hawwwwwwwww!!!!

Vrinda, what can I say except, "Be careful offering your services to someone so technically challenged as myself." :7 Thank you sooooo much for all the wonderful information you provided to me. O.K., so now I'm thinking about an MP3 player. Never would have before in my life. You're speaking in a foreign language to me. I don't even know what itrain is. :( I've never ordered anything online and feel like I need to have some training before doing so. ;-) Tonight when I get home from work, I will check out your recommendation on the Creative Site. And one more thing, I WILL take you up on your offer to help me convert cd's to it if I get one. Can I copy cassettes too? Hey, I'm a chick of the 80's and have mucho, mucho groovy tunes on that type of listening device! :+

Bam,

I am a chick of the 80's too!

I'll hold your hand (virtually) through every step. If necessary I'll comw online on chat to "talk" with you as you do each step. Except cassette conversion. I know it is possible, but I havent done it. So for cassettes you will be on your own. :)

I just went out and bought all the 80's songs in digital again.

>Spanx! You can find them anywhere...they suck it all in.

Oh yeah!!! You are too right!!! I own 3 pair myself. I think every woman should own some.
I recommended them to my son's girlfriend who is 21 years old. You can always benefit from a pair of spanx:7 :7 :7

Thanks again, Vrinda. My hand will be (virtually) reaching out! :7 BTW, where did you get all the 80's songs on digital...and do you really mean all???? lol Was it quite taxing on the ol' pocketbook?

I really can't wait to look into Spanx. I have heard about them but never thought about it. Are there places to get them cheaper or with discounts or are they basically the same price no matter where you get them?

>Thanks again, Vrinda. My hand will be (virtually) reaching
>out! :7

:)

> BTW, where did you get all the 80's songs on
>digital...and do you really mean all???? lol Was it quite
>taxing on the ol' pocketbook?

All the ones I like, but no not ALL. :)

I acquired them over time, so I did not feel the pinch. Earlier I bought a CD at a time. Now I only buy downloads. You can buy just the songs you want instead of a whole album and that makes it more cost effective.
