Can you give me some suggestions?

While I absolutely love, love, love all of Cathe's workouts , I am wondering if there are any instructors/dvd's that you also enjoy and are at the same intensity level as Cathe? I think I asked a similar question a few years ago, but never got around to trying any, lol, and I'm thinking it might be a good idea to step out of my comfort zone ;) thanks!

For a comparison to STS, I really like Body Beast (from BeachBody) with Sagi Kalev (think that is his name). It is a straight muscle building program (with one cardio workout). I get great muscle definition and always hook BB on right after STS. (note - many people find him irritating, I don't, in fact he keeps growing on me and I find him funny).

Also from Beach Body is Summer Calibrisi (again, think that is her name) along with Sagi Kalev for the series "Master Hammer and Chisel" (MHC). I really like Summer's style and she is calm, motivating and does the workouts with you like Cathe. I am not sure what I would compare MHC to in Cathe's arsenal - maybe MWT or PHA? This series consists of 30-45 minute workouts that work on overall body and balance mainly using weights or reps for cardio and also muscle strength (you can increase/decrease the weights used). (Note - in this series I do find Sagi slightly irritating when he is with Summer).

I have tried other Beach Body instructors or series and did not like any of them so far - just liked the above two.

I have also tried other instructors and haven't found others to compare with Cathe, so I am also interested in this great question!

Ingrid Romero's extreme booty 2 is very intense. I find the lower body workouts even more difficult than Cathe's. The upper body one's aren't bad but I usually add a few more back and chest exercises to make it more rounded. If you can get over the outfits it's well worth the $$. Amy Bento's slo-mo dvd is very challenging as well. Mindy Mylrea is also very advanced - I like her spinning dvds, booty camp, tabata with toys but her music isn't the greatest. KCM's shapeup and muscle up are also tough.

:DLol @Gobias I think you got the season wrong, it's Autumn Calabrese;)

I am very happy with my cathe collection. Personally it's ample to cover all aspect of my fitness
within a year. That said I have tried few system from other instructor.

I would recommend Riptensity from Men health. The production quality is good and cueing is very good.
The aim of the workout is mainly based on the execution of a move within a specific amount of time rather than
number of reps. This is different compared to cathe but it is INTENSE.
Riptensity is bodyweight system --- No equipment.

I am doing EBE2 from Mama ingrid;):). I am not impressed by upper body.Neither am I impressed by her counting
I had to count each rep and set myself while moving fast from one exercise to another. I am fine with this cause
my heart rate was mainly high throughout the workout. It is tough but did not feel it was tougher than cathe's.
Well I have not done her Glutes and plyo as yet:)

Nathalie you must be bionic if extreme booty 2 isn't that hard for you. It slays me! I go as heavy as I can with good form but find it mentally draining as well with the supersets and minimal to no breaks

I think I have probably jumped into conclusion before completing the set LOL. Now I am scared of what is coming

count me as another her lower body work kills me

I am hoping to survive to tell:):)

I have to agree with others. EBE2 are some of the hardest lower body workouts I have ever done. And they are no fun! But they definitely do the job. I prefer Cathe, too, Nathalie, and she does have her own brand of brutal lower body workouts (I did my Butts & Guts blender mix this morning and my glutes and hammies are still screaming), but it's not the same kind of torture Ingrid delivers. (Plus Cathe has that fun-factor that I just don't find in most other trainers). In fact, I keep telling myself I need to return to EBE2 because they are such excellent workouts but, mentally, I just want to do Cathe workouts right now (and MetaShred Extreme--another brand of leg torture). And Ingrid's counting (and excessive enthusiasm) irritated me, too.

Jeanmarie--I second a lot of what has been mentioned above. Amy Bento's Slo-Mo is excellent. MetaShred Extreme--excellent. EBE2--excellent. Hammer & Chisel--excellent, especially Autumn's workouts. Plus everyone Stacey mentioned--she listed a lot of intense metabolic workouts. Toby Massenburg. And they are all advanced. So if you can do Cathe's workouts, you will be challenged by these. If you are looking for a fun factor combined with an challenging workout, similar to what Cathe gives you--I would try MetaShred Extreme (B.J Gaddour), Toby Massenburg and anything Kelly Coffey-Meyer.

Love this thread. Cathe is my favorite, but I need variety. Where do you get MetaShred Extreme (B.J. Gaddour)? I tried totalfitnessdvd.com and Amazon, but they don't seem to have it. Any others by Gaddour that are really good? I don't have any of his.

P90X3 gives me UB doms! I'll do several Cathe's in a row, then put one of Tony's in and BAM -- DOMS! I think it's the pull ups, chin ups, push ups. He changes it up and works muscles from different angles. His CVX in this set is a great cardio workout, and I like the core work too. When I'm looking for a roughly 30-minute workout, I often reach for this set.

Seconding Jengolf's suggestions and Stacy's. Yes to most anything by Patrick Goudeau actually: his metabolic conditioning workouts are extreme but he's a fun guy while you are doing it so I find him really encouraging. So, there's Lean Hot Body, and Hard Work Conditioning 2 I think, and also Body Weight Blast and his Kickbox Burn too. All good ones, see links below. Yes also to Toby Massenburg who learned everything he knows from Patrick himself and he stars in Patrick's workouts too.

As far as Metashred and Metashred Extreme from BJ, you have to order directly from Rodale: https://www.rodalestore.com/metashr...l?link=brand-cat-slider_imageWellness_Slide_1

My husband bought it for me for my birthday. He pre-ordered it tho, which was a special website at the time, but still through Rodale. I have his Meta Shred 21 which is also a great program and his DeltaFit Speed Shred which I haven't done yet. I ordered them both directly from Rodale.

We're on the same page on that. I am glad I have added some variety. I am selective but still manage to
have variety. For example I liked the combination of squat followed by back kick. Thanks to cathe's stuffs, I have managed to
execute that one with good form squatting parallel. I am glad I was quite fluid for a first attempt. I recommend EBE2 to anyone
looking for variety for lower body.

You can try some of the instructors dvds on a disc subscription on Netflix. I know that is very retro of me:D. But, I live in the country. My internet was installed over phone lines that were put in the 1930s.
