Can you believe it?

Debbie - is it the one where the guys throw the puppy off the cliff? I haven't seen it (and don't want to) but heard about it on the radio this morning. :(

No, I have not heard about that one. That sounds sad!!

This one is about a 4 year old McDonald meal that does not go bad.. How could "food" not spoil?

Ok, I just watched it. Disgusting. But of course the McDonalds food won't rot or mold--it's loaded with salt and preservatives to keep it fresh (think of how far McDonalds food is transferred to get to each store...)

A freshly sliced potato and a preserved McD's french fry and burger obviously won't break down the same way...

It sure was nasty, though.

Ewe....

I've had people send me some really horrific e-mails lately, so I was scared to open your link at first. I have one friend who is obviously obsessed with the idea that I am going to get in some horrific car crash and he keeps sending me e-mails with pictures of people splattered across the front of a truck with some kind of warning about talking on cell phones. I'm still scarred from that....

Did you ever see "Super Size Me?" Same thing; he kept McDonalds food and "real" food in jars to see how they fared. I forgot exactly how long he'd kept the McDonald's french fries when an intern accidently threw them out. It was months, and they still looked the same as they did when he first got them!!

As they said in the movie, McDonald's doens't use recipes, they use "formulas."

Liann,

I received that same email and was wondering who would actually take those pictures and post them on the web. That truly was sad and disgusting.

Reminds me of a logo I once saw "preserve human life, not shelf life"!

If 'food' doesn't break down from bacteria in the air, you've got to wonder if the bacteria in our body has any chance of digesting it.

Does your "friend" have psychic tendencies? If not, I'd question her "friendship" and, perhaps, her sanity.

Unless you like to chat on the phone while driving; in which case, she's trying to do you a favor because she doesn't want you to have a deadly car accident.

I saw on a rescue list that this one may not be true. I think snopes has something on it.

We find beauty in the most incomprehensible places and the otherwise homely faces. It is our gift to see beyond the dirt, terror, sadness and defeat and find the true soul that lies within. We are Rescue.

It's actually a guy friend - much much older than me. I think he worries about me a lot. I'm like the daughter he never had. He's a big old brawny trucker type guy and I don't think he knows what e-mails NOT to send to a girl sometimes! I tend to keep images in my head so I'm really careful what e-mails I open now or links I pull up. I'm not kidding when I say that that one gives me nightmares.

Speaking of images and nightmares... I'm standing around with a bunch of guys at work the other day and someone had a brochure of a local natural wonder and was going on about the surrounding woods and the cabins, etc. I said something about how I never go near a wooded area alone because that's where all the serial rapists/killers are or where they dump the bodies... All those men looked at me like I was nuts and I said it was because they're men and they don't spend their lives looking over their shoulders watching out for crazy people the way women do. When I told this story to my female co-workers they IMMEDIATELY got what I was saying. But they also work crazy hours so maybe I'm not the only one who's seen endless episodes of Cold Case Files, Body of Evidence, Forensic Files and City Confidential... They're on when I leave for work and when I come home. I've had visions and nightmares from watching those things but they're so addictive.
