Can someone help me with false eyelashes??

I'm going to a fanch schmancy dinner next week, and would like to try false lashes just to give myself some extra oomph. ;)

I saw something called Dura-Lash at Target, they are like little bundles of several hairs, and supposedly they stay on for a couple weeks. Is this true?? It cost about $15 so I didn't want to shell that out if they don't work.

If you have discovered anything that works well, that somebody that's kind of a butter-fingers can handle, I'd love to hear! Thanks :)

Duralashes are okay, but the strips are easier to apply. Be sure to use the glue to be used with the strips. You can get lashes that are meant to be used on the outter 2/3 of the lashes, which give a nice, full look. If you're going to use the ones that start at the inner corner of the eye, be sure to measure and cut the strip so it fits properly. Look on You Tube for some instructional information - there's a wealth of info there!!

As far as how long they last, I don't ususally wear them any longer than a couple of days. I have this horrible fear that I'll be talking to someone completely unaware that they are half falling off!!! LOL!!!

Have fun!

Its much easier to buy the strip eye lashes. Trim them to match your eyelid length tho. Then make sure you have the darker glue instead of clear. Do your eyeshadow first and then glue the inner part of the strip first working your way out. Once you glue a section, use either the end of an eye liner lid of tweezers to push down the strip onto your eyelid. After you have the whole strip positioned go over it with liquid eye liner. This will not only conceal the strip but also help them stick better.

The individual ones are MURDER to do yourself. You can have the individual ones done in a salon for about $30 and they last weeks.

Hope this helps

Wow, thanks! I knew I could count on the girls here!

If I can't manage this, I'm liking the idea of treating myself to a salon visit.....hmmmmmm...

That is TOO funny! We just watched the original "Yours, Mine and Ours" a week ago...The date where her fake eyelashes fell off in someones drink!!! LOL!

On a more serious note, they aren't difficult once you get the hang of them. I wear them for black tie events, maybe once a year. Try them a few times before the big night!

Those of you that have used false eyelashes - how hard are they to take off? I have thought about using them here and there for a special occasion since my lashes aren't that full anymore but I am afraid that they will pull out my natural lashes when removing them. Does that happen? I can't afford to lose any more of my natural lashes.
