can sinus problems cause beathing problems?

CAn sinus problems cause you to have problems breathing? I've noticed lately when I am walking up the hill I have a little breathing problem where I didn't use to. It soon goes away. Do you have any suggestions? I've been using the salt water solution called Ayre and that help some.

Some people with sinus problems (usually allergy related) also have asthma and don't even know it. DD was diagnosed and we never realized it before then.
