can I

I am not a dr. or nurse, but.......

Fitmum, I don't think it's wise to do so. Because I feel no matter what you do, be it cardio or weight training, you're more likely to work up a sweat and your pores will be wide open. And maybe this is a country thing as my dh would always say, but I think the cold sweat will settle in your joints/bones and causing the flu to linger longer?????????????

I don't want you to get a relapse. Take it easy.

I have read that exercising with flu is not a good idea. You apparently need mucho rest.

Hope you feel better soon,
Ruth:)

I have experienced some pretty nast relapses due to working out too soon while being sick. When I was younger I could do it unless I had a fever. Now that I'm in my 30's I can't pull it off.

I know the frustration. I see no harm in maybe some yoga, get breathing and moving a little. Maybe just some stretching.

Hope you feel better soon! Eat as clean as you can to strengthen the immune system!

Hi Fitmum,i am not a Doc. but from what i understand if it's from the neck up light exercise should be o.k but if it's from the neck down, no your body needs the rest. When you Exercise with the flu or a bad chest cold you run the risk of spreading the virus to other organs in the body such as the heart because as you know with Cathe's workouts the blood is a pumping making it easier for the virus to spread ,so take it easy, the workouts will still be there when your feeling better which i hope is soon ! I agree!

Depending on "how" crap you feel...........but I would stick with some Yoga or stretching and lots of fluids

If you have a "heavy" head feeling, cardio or weights may make you feel worse

Honestly, I have to ask, without sounding sarcastic, do you really want to exercise? If you have to force yourself, you are too sick. As everyone else said, relax and repair your body, overdoing it will make you feel worse. You definitely have an addiction to exercise if you want to exercise with the flu.

Why would you want to? Exercise puts stress on the body, as does illness, and exercising while you are ill will only prolong your recovery. Use this as a recovery time.
