Can I play Cathe DVD's on my Ipod nano?

My husband just bought me an Ipod Nano for Valentines day and I would love to take Gym Style Legs(and several others) with me to the Gym or away on trips. Is it possible to put some of my Cathe DVD's onto my Nano? If so, how?

Thanks so much,

Wendy,

I do it.

You will need:

a. a DVD decrpter software (because when DVDs are authored, the video may be organized into multiple files)

b. a format converter software that will conver the format of video that DVDs use (called VOB) to the format of video that iPod needs (h.264 MPEG).

There is free software available for both. I like:

a. Decrypter - DVD Shrink - download it here:
http://www.free-codecs.com/DVD_Shrink_download.htm

b. Converter - Videora - download it here:
http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/download.php

Once you download and install both, you are all set. Using DVD shrink you can "re-author" the DVD. This creates a copy of the DVD video on your hard disk. It allows you to gather the entire workout into one big VOB file on your PC hard disk, or to select chapters that comprise all sets of an exercise and create individual files - one for each exercise. When you put a DVD in the drive and load DVD shrink, use the menu to open the DVD. It will preview the entire DVD in what seems like fast forward. Read the help and it will guide you to create one or more VOB files of the workout onto your hard drive.

Videora is very easy to use. You dont need the DVD anymore. Take the VOB files created by DVD shrink on your hard drive as the input and direct Videora to make them into ipod files.

Open the ipod files thus created into iTunes. Edit the title, artist, album name. Organize the files that make up a workout into a playlist to make it easier to access a workout from the ipod. Then sync the playlist to your iPod Nano.

PM me if you need any help.
