can I manage with what I have

Hi,
I have Power Hour and the Pyramids DVD's here and I want to use these two titles to start working out this year.
My problem is that I don't have much money right now and have only dumbbells, 1 pair of 2.5kg (5.5lb each) and 1 pair of 5kg (11lb each) Do you think I can manage with what I have for a while?
If I were lifting the 11lb dumbbells (one in each hand) in place of the barbell I would then be using 22lb on my exercises, right?
That may be too heavy for a beginner.
I'd really appreciate some feedback as I do find all the info I read here to be most informative.
Thanks,

I think that you can manage with that for now. I myself manage with only a set of 3.3 lb dumbbells. (until I can get the combination cap barbell/dumbbell set that I really want, about $35-$50) I sometimes go without weights on the lunge portions of Cathe's videos, at least until my quads are stronger. For the upper body exercises (where I'm already seeing some definition) I combine the weights in one hand (as she does on her tricep exercises in Muscle Endurance) and then I have 6.6 lbs. My advice is to combine the weights that you have until you can add more. The best set to get in my opinion are the ones where you can adjust the weight plates to fit your ability to do the reps and still keep your form.
